Located in a strip mall, this restaurant has a nice selection of oriental style food. We went for dinner and they offer a dinner special (as well as lunch special) which was nice. The prices are moderate. There is a small inside dining area. A great deal of carry out was being ordered and taken out when we were there. We got the sesame chicken and the Szechuan beef. Both were tasty and pretty fast-food type Chinese. It is a good stop for a quick dinner or lunch. read more

I have been getting take out from here for years, and it is consistently good. I love the flavor of their lo mein especially. Their customer service is outstanding. My daughter was excited to get her annual roll up calendar that she has gotten from them for 4-5 years, and they were out. So I recently moved to Ohio and since I am a sucker for asian food I decided to try this place out since it is close to my new home. I am always cautious when trying new places but this place did not disappoint. For me, my go to is General Tsaos. Since this was my first time trying this place, I ordered it like it came to test the spice level. Next time I will ask for extra spicy because I like it hot. My husbands choice was pineapple chicken and it was really good. Reminded me of how sweet and sour chicken is supposed to be minus the red sauce. Big chunks of chicken and nice and sweet sauce. I ordered a side of teriyaki chicken on a stick and crab rangoons. The rangoons weren't in the typical shape but my husband liked it since he felt it had more filing. The chicken stick was amazing. The flavor was great and the outer crust was almost like fried chicken. They didn't use whatever other places use to make it red and thats ok because these were better than any that I have had. Service was great because I ordered online. The menu had great selection and they had pad thai which was great to see because I will be trying that. There were items that I didn't see that I normally would see on a typical chinese menu but I like that they are going their own thing. Great portions and fresh and hot. I dont always eat Chinese, but this was some tasty fast friendly food that filled my belly and hit the spot. No not Sandy go and put your fanciest tuxedo on and hop on over to the Lucky bamboo. However, I am saying it wouldn't be a bad thing if you hopped on over after Golf picked up a couple pints of your favorite Chinese food, and then chowed down. Stopped by during a lacrosse tournament. My daughter had veggie lo mein and my wife had some type of curry chicken/shrimp, both were great. They also had steamed dumplings which were really good. I had General Tso's Chicken. Unfortunately it was overcooked and pretty hard. I had a tough time getting the plastic fork in the food. I like spicy and this was more sweet. The food was piping hot! It wasn't over seasoned and the gravy for the egg foo young had a really good flavor. It was on par with your average fast food Chinese restaurant. They do provide real silverware when you dine in. The cashier rang us out and brought our food as well. Nothing out of the way as far as customer service. read more

I from Kentucky and was visiting family for a Memorial Day cook out. And on the way home decided to look for a Chinese restaurant to take some food home and found Lucky Bamboo. The service was excellent staff so very friendly and by the time I got back home much to my surprise it was still hot enough to eat without warming it up and it tasted great. If ever back up in the Monroe area again will definitely be stopping back by. Also the prices were really reasonable and the portion of food was was worth the price. read more

They have the best Hot & Sour Soup I've had anywhere, and the rest of the food is just as delicious. The menu looks like the stereotypical list you see at every Chinese restaurant, but the food at Lucky Bamboo simply tastes better than other places in the area. Portions are good, prices are a great value, and the owners are wonderful people. Sue is always very friendly, exceptionally focused on making the customers happy. Even during this challenge of the re-open in the new Covid-19 world, they've adapted and made it safe and easy to continue enjoying the takeout that I love so much. I'm giving a one-star review because this restaurant needs an allergen list. As a person with a food allergy, I am aware that Chinese restaurants often have peanuts in-house because of their Kung Pao chicken so I steer clear away from that. So, I order a lunch portion of bourbon chicken and I guess with every lunch, they include an egg roll. Egg rolls are usually harmless as they normally have some type of meat, cabbage, carrots, garlic, etc. No....this place puts peanuts in the egg rolls. I don't know if it's bits of peanuts or a peanut sauce but it's in there. Went into anaphylactic shock within 1 bite of it. Had to go to the emergency room and get treated. I think they deserve this 1 star because allergy to peanuts is the most common food allergy. To serve every entree during lunch with an item you put the #1 food allergen in, you NEED to disclose that. The rest of my food looked and smelled really good but I was unable to eat it due to the reaction. Please disclose on your menu where you include allergens. Or include an allergen list. I am sure I will not be the only one to experience this in the future. read more

Hunan beef and sweet and sour chicken themselves were good, the hot and sour and egg drop soups were very good, and actually the crab rangoons were divine - very light and crispy. This is a good takeout option. It's fair/mediocre for inside dining which is how we came here. I'm rating it for inside dining. The photos on this page showing food served on china are deceptive, because apparently they have done away with china and metal utensils, and all food comes as takeout style packaging... plastic pop top containers for the entrees and soup and little wax paper bags for rangoons and egg rolls. Plasticware stinks esp. for eating the soup - their spoons are tea spoons. Like another review noted, the plastic forks don't do well with some fried items. Few condiments. Lastly, we asked for cups with ice for our bottled soft drinks, and one of our cups had debris sticking to the ice cubes, apparently from the ice maker. The dining room section is tiny but extremely clean with wood furnishings like a traditional sit down restaurant. Most customers get food to go. read more

We've gotten carry out several times since we moved to the area late last year. They changed owners at the first of the year, so some of the recipes are different. We've had the sweet and sour chicken (very good), General Tsao's chicken (OK) and Szechuan chicken (lots of veggies, good flavor, not much chicken) along with egg rolls. The plain egg rolls are just cabbage only, so nothing special. However the shrimp egg rolls are quite good. My biggest disappointment though is the fried rice. It has no vegetables at all and no egg bits. I'm used to chopped carrots, peas and onion in fried rice along with bits of egg. It is literally just rice with some soy sauce. Must be a Monroe thing because the other two places we've tried were similar. What's up with that?!? Very quick and courteous service. Several clean tables, if you want to dine in, but no atmosphere. Besides the Yelp taking you across the street from where the restaurant is actually located, this place is really nice (in the same parking lot as Kroger's). Fast food style restaurant with small dinning area and it's clean. Also, the service is pretty good. Best of all the food is good and the prices are even better. read more

On a search for a new Chinese restaurant, we picked this place based on reviews. However, we were surprised when we arrived a little after 7pm on a Friday night. This is a small restaurant (5 tables) in a strip mall. Two tables were occupied and one person was waiting for carry out. We placed our order and three more people came in for take out. The restaurant was COLD. It was probably in the mid 40s outside and the low 50s inside. We all kept our coats on. I got a package of almond cookies anticipating that it was going to take longer than the typical 15-20 minutes most Chinese places quote. There was only one guy working! Yes, one person. Our egg rolls came out in about 15 minutes. They were either really tasty or we were really hungry! Actually we were hungry as they were crispy and dripping with grease. Our main dishes arrived at least 35 minutes after we ordered, per the wife who let me know. We ordered orange chicken, cashew chicken, and sweet & sour pork. The food was okay, but got cold quickly as the restaurant was freezing. By this time the one guy finished our order and the two other take out orders and it was just us left in the restaurant. He did apologize for the delay and explained he was waiting for more people to arrive from China. He gave us another almond cookie and lots of fortune cookies, since one of the boys didn't get a fortune. Maybe it was an off night with just the one guy, but it was less than average Americanized Chinese food. Probably won't be back. read more
