A delightful hole in the wall and a family owned staple n the 5 Towns community. Located across the street from Costco, with minimal exterior attraction, it's hard to imagine that the food could be any good but it is! They start you off with pita and an olive oil with butter and garlic dip. We also ordered a spanokopita to start which was DELICIOUS. For dinner I ordered the scallops oreganata with steak fries (which are more like potato wedges) and grilled veggies. The scallops were incredible, I easily could have had 15 more. The meal also came with a heaping Greek salad. My boyfriend ordered a beef and lamb gyro which I thought was hearty and authentic. The reason I barely give 5 stars is to save them for places like this!!! Looks shady from the outside but the inside is quaint, cute, clean and incredible! And what the interior cannot account for the food absolutely will!!!! Staff was amazingly kind and cordial. I sat at the bar and was greeted immediately by the head chef who took total care of me. Recommended the fresh catch of the day, the sword fish, topped with bruschetta and two sides. He recommended the sweet potato and fresh veggies. And I had a Greek salad to start... village style and delicious! This is a small unassuming spot near the JFK airport with a tile floor, paint walls and a paneling wainscot. This walls are decorated with pictures and collectibles. One corner has the grilI and pastry case. I would never in my wildest dreams think there would be such a treasure hidden away in this location. This place was great, we were here yesterday. Great Greek food, great desserts. Very tasty. When we were leaving we bought a few deserts and had our remaining dinner food wrapped. There was a man who appeared to be the owner or manager. He came out to the parking lot with some food we asked to have wrapped but was not inside my to go bag with my desserts at the end of the dinner. We didn't realize the food was not inside our to go bag. That really says a lot about the customer service of this restaurant. I'm so full! I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki (minus the lettuce) and the apple crumb. It was HUGE & tasty! It took me a minute to eat it all, but I conquered it. I must admit reading all these reviews and how positive, they were I had to check this place out for myself, and I'm glad I did, there are people of been coming to this restaurant for over 30 years, and I see why, Nestor and Jack are two of the most friendliest people you'll ever meet, tell me there is like coming to somebody's house and part of the family, the food very delicious they could even accommodate you for items that are not on the menu, I had the moussaka it was tasty and delicious the best I ever had, meat pie was good spanakopita delicious, and you cannot leave without having their famous chocolate pudding pie and a custard pie, do half-and-half I did, plenty of parking in the back and on the side of the building,From the outside it doesn't look like a traditional Greek restaurant, they do have a kids menu burgers, wine and beer if needed if you like, will definitely come back again read more

This restaurant is a restaurant where I have to start backwards. Meaning....dessert first. If I don't I wont ever make it to dessert!!!!! The desserts here are Ahhhhhh-Maaaaaaay-Zing! hehehhe. (AMAZING!) The Ekmek is my favorite dessert. I believe it's a Greek dessert because I see it in every Greek restaurant and dessert place. OMG it's so good...there is shredded fillo dough on the bottom that is drizzled with honey and on top there is this AMAZING custard and there is also cream on top and nuts too. I LOVE this place. It is always so busy whenever I go for lunch, but there is always super quick and FRIENDLY service, and no wait! Dine or Ditch? Dine... just don't break their plates celebrating your delicious meal. I should start off by saying I've rarely, if ever, gotten Greek food here. If you're looking for "authentic Greek food" this may or may not be your place. You should look at other reviews for more insight. However, if you're just interested in good food, you can keep your dial right on this channel because I have some news for you right after the break. As promised... the review. I've been coming here for some time and in almost every scenario I've come for the burger deluxe. You start with a "small" salad. This could (and has been for me) a meal by itself. It's fresh and delicious and honestly pretty large. I will note I personally don't like to go dressing crazy and if you get it as is they will drown it in their oil and vinaigrette concoction. I get it on the side and use it sparingly to really enjoy the salad itself, but that's your call (as is everything else, that didn't have to be noted). Their large salad would also make a great meal on it's own if you're looking to go healthy. Onto the burger. It is great. It's a pretty big burger. It tastes fresh and made just for you. At the end of the day it is just a basic burger, but still really well made. I personally love the fries because they are those big, thick steak fries. They are basically just a quarter of a potato made into a "fry" which I prefer over the small wimpy fries. If this is something you enjoy then these are for you. The onion rings are also really well done. Good crunch, good flavor, a bit of grease, but not drenched. Having been here many times I have tried some other meals and I've always enjoyed what I've had. They make a great piece of salmon. Good flavors, nice side of veggies. I've also had the eggplant parm (which I'm almost never a fan of) and it was also pretty good. The sauce was a pretty perfect combo of sweet tomato combined with other spices. We asked for more sauce to really envelop it in. The price was close to what I would expect. It always feels like it's maybe a dollar or two too much for everything, but you are getting good quality for what you're paying for. So maybe it's something worth paying that extra dollar or two for in the end (clearly considering I've come time and time again). Side note (and the worst part of coming here), parking is a pain. The lot in the back is SMALL and the spaces are tight. Make sure whoever drives here is the best driver out of the group and that you're taking the car you care least about. I like to find a spot I can back into so I can pull out way more easily. Overall, I just wish you luck in that lot. read more

I would almost say, it's worth the hour drive out of New York or even worth stepping out of JFK during a layover to get this amazing authentic food! I was dissapointed in the fact that the company put me in the Holiday Inn at JFK during my business trip to New York. I was literally worried about my food options. Luckily, I had a car and after searching Yelp, i couldn't be more happy finding this place. You enter a REAL family style restaurant. I have been driving past this restaurant for years and from the outside it doesn't look like anything special but l was pretty impressed with their food. Place is small and the decor is a testament to how long this place hasŚ been in business. Got there and saw a lady that appears to be standing around. No warm friendly greeting from her, both her expressions and demeanor was a little on the stonic side. I made the first move and requested a table for three. Seated in seconds without issue. Our waiter was total opposite of the lady we first encountered. He was friendly and attentive. Ordered, food arrived and man was it delicious. Ingredients are freshly prepared. My uncle swears by this place. I'd eaten here once before, but I didn't have much recollection. A group of us came in last week when I said I was desperately hungry, and now I know why. The portions here are mammoth. I ordered a cheeseburger dinner plate special, which includes the burger, steak or shoestring fries, onion rings and a Greek salad. The Greek salad comes in a bowl large enough to house a school of fish. I felt like I was eating out of a bucket. It was filled a little over halfway with fresh lettuce, cucumbers, feta cheese, olives and tomatoes. I like that they only lightly dress the salad since a soggy, dripping mess of veggies isn't how I like mine prepared. My plate arrived, and it was huge. The burger is huge and dripping with cheesy goodness. I had a hard time getting my mouth around it (insert dick joke here), but once I did it was excellent. Perfectly cooked, and the bun was toasted just enough to give the succulent meat something crispy to play around with in my mouth. I wish I'd gone with the bacon cheeseburger, as I'm sure they know how to do it right. It isn't all dressed up with loads of toppings and condiments either. You just get a basic burger with cheese, maybe lettuce as well. But it all tastes so good that you don't need anything else on it. I got steak fries - they were huge. Seriously, the potato they came from must have been the size of two fists because the fries were large & in charge. I had virtually no room for my onion rings, but I still wolfed down one or two so that they didn't feel left out. Our server asked if we wanted dessert, but most of us were so full that the mere mention of it caused stomach undulations. But my uncle is good friends with the manager, and he graciously sent over 2 slices of pie for us to split. One chocolate and one banana cream.
