Unfortunately, Halal Express has changed the tray for the chicken over rice platter. The tray has three sections now, a smaller section for the chicken and rice, one section for salad and an empty section which other restaurants usually put french fries but this place does not. I was told this new tray cost cheaper compared to the previous one. Which I understand but this new tray also results in a lesser amount of actual chicken and rice. I've had all the Halal from uptown Manhattan, midtown, Downtown BK, Ozone Queens, etc. I'm not saying this is the BEST, but it is really good! Absolutely scratches the itch!! This was my first time trying it. I ordered the Chicken Tikka and a small seasoned fry. The chicken was moist and fully cooked. The seasoning on the fries didn't stand out to me but they arrived crispy which I liked. Ordered through Grub hub and it would have been nice if I could have ordered more white sauce on the side -- though I didn't try to enter it as a comment (I can try that next time.) It satisfied my cravings and tasted better than even the best Queens and LI trucks! I even tasted a few times my friends fried fish (whiting) and coconut shrimp!
