This place has been around for along time and I've had their food at events, to which they catered it from Lucky City. We decide to make the drive and actually sit down and try them and it was just not good. We ordered wings, fried wontons, and a few of their specials and it jus was not good. With under or overcooked. Bland tasting. They didn't even have proper plates to eat in for diners, we ate in styrofoam take out containers. I've ordered trays of various items on the menu for large family events and the food is really good. Unfortunately today I went to dine in and although it was an hour before they closed, the miniature I walked in and said table for 3 the lady behind the counter (not welcoming) put her finger up and said no. I had to quickly rush outside to stop my elderly parents from coming in. A man came and took my order to go and as I was about to sit down while waiting, a group of 4 came in and asked to dine in. Again the lady was no pleasant and reminded them they close at 8pm. I understand the owners were prob tired after a long day but to refuse dine in service an hour before you close is ridiculous. The group of 4 sat down and ordered while I waited. At that point I was not going yo signal to my parents to come in because I really wasn't in the mood to tip someone got crappy service with an attitude. To be fair the food was delicious and I had a nice sit down dinner at home in the comfort of my home. I will order in the future because of the food but I will not be dinning in. read more

I don't know how this place is still in business. After not coming here for a few years I said I'd try it again...ummm not a good idea. These people really gave me egg drop soup with a few kernels of corn and told me it was corn soup....I thought they were Trini but clearly they have no idea what corn soup is supposed to be. I go into the restaurant thinking maybe it was busy and that was the reason she was rushing. The restaurant was super gloomy and dark, with one man inside sitting at a table. I get my food from an older female and I knew instantly that was exactly who I spoke to. Same demeanor in person like I was bothering her. I saw an older male on the phone taking an order and I wished he would've answered when I called. I go home and I must say the lo mein was very tasty. I wished the noodles weren't overcooked but the taste was there. Three stars because the chicken lo mein was hot, tasty, and had a generous amount of chicken. Very disappointed that the owners wife would ask us to place our order for takeout when we were sitting at a table waiting to be served all because another person from a cricket team came into the establishment intoxicated and started to curse at my husband. 4% credit card fee!!!! If you take the time to read this review, I think for most people that have visited a few times, it will hit close to home. I don't think this is a one time event, I truly think they are like this with everyone after speaking with a few other customers and just don't care. I just don't understand how this place is still in business! Over the years, I've tolerated with A LOT because they are just about the only option for Chinese-style Trini food in the area. I don't think I have ever received great service; 90% of it accept as just their personalities and 10% i put towards them having a bad day. I recently received the worse service ever from the owner, Ron. I called in to place an order...a very simple order, nothing customized. He answered "hello". I was so used to his wife Geeta answering that i wasn't sure if i called the correct number. I said "hi, is this lucky city?". He said "yes"...then dead air. No "yes, how may I help you, yes can I take your order", nothing. Whatever, moving on. I placed my order and all I got was an "OK". He didn't tell me how long, didn't repeat it, didn't tell me a price...nothing. After a few seconds if dead silence, I hung up. When I arrive at the restaurant to pick up my food, he's the only one in there. After being in the service industry before, I understand how it can be sometimes, but at the same time, with him being the owner, he should've done better. He rings up my order, all while going back and forth to his cell phone. The receipt prints and by that point, he's so into his phone he didn't even notice. I reached over and grabbed the receipt, said good night, and left. When I get to the car, I look at the receipt and see a 3.9% charge added onto my bill. It's a convenience charge for using a credit card! When I went back to ask about it, he rudely told me that he had it posted on the door. And it all made sense. He knows his customers will be outraged by this new fee, so he didn't make any attempt to get me my receipt. Soon enough, he'll probably set the register not to print detailed receipts. I have tolerated them enough over the years. If you are a frequent visitor, you'll know what I mean. They are just so...ugh. This is the first review i have ever written anywhere...and all because i received such poor service from a business owner...not just an employee. As customers, we deserve better. I work too hard to give my money to a business that doesn't have any respect nor care to show you that they care for your business. They feel they can do this because they know there's not many choices in the area, but either drive down to Hibiscus or Tropics, or find a recipe to make your own Chinese-style Trini food!!! Finally! I've been looking for a West Indian-Chinese restaurant here in Broward, similar to the ones you find in queens, NY, for the longest! I couldn't find anything that looked like the real deal...until now!) Located next to a huge dollar tree and Winn Dixie, you might over look and not even notice this place, unless you're really looking for it. Which honestly, you should be! PLACE: Walking in, the place is exactly what you'd expect to find in your average west Indian-Chinese spot. Colorful lights, chutney/soca/calypso/Caribbean music playing from the speakers, table set up with HOT pepper sauce, big TVs for those cricket matches, and someone ready to take your order. There are lots of tables and booth on both side of the restaurant! What really stood out to me, is that they carry both Trini & Guyanese food! (Yes, there is a difference & that in a good way) They carry Guyanese style black pudding (with rice), as well as Trini style (without rice). They serve your favorite Caribbean beer like Carib and red stripe. The pepper shrimp is slamming. The indo-Chinese style chicken is perfect and the fried rice is spot on! PRICE is very reasonable. You get pretty big portions for what you pay and you can order ahead and pick up, which I saw a lot of people do when we went in. We ordered from the combination menu, one big, one small and that total to about $20. The small had pepper shrimp (5), fried rice & lo mein. The large had chicken with fried rice and lo mein. They also sell party trays around 50$ for in those huge silver trays. Service is friendly and gladly willing to explain what certain items are if you aren't familiar. Cant wait to come back and dine in to try some appetizers followed by a cold beer! Just an fyi, this is completely different from what you'd get from a regular Chinese take out. I came here for their $12 Sunday brunch buffet. For the price, it's a very good deal. The selection isn't huge but most of the food that they served was very good. My favorite was definitely the lomein and their Chinese chicken dish. If I come back in the future to get takeout, it's definitely what I'll be ordering. The place looks really run down and dark, but I don't really judge restaurants by the way they look, so I decided to order away anyway. I ordered the whole red snapper with white rice. Rice was horrible. How do you mess up white rice? The fish had no flavor and it tasted like something they caught and they let it sit out all day. It was like they just decided to cook it since I was probably their last customer of the day. I know it was close to closing time, but if you know the food is old and not up to your standards, why serve it to the public? This was my first and last time eating there. I would give this place 5 stars if their service and decor matched their flavorful, amazing, authentic food. We were there on a Friday night at 5:30 and were the only ones actually sitting down to eat. The owner gave us a sample of some sort of a chickpea "taco" and recommended a delicious beer. The curry goat and roti was delicious as was the jerk pork. The phone rang off the hook and there were many people walking in to pick up their to-go orders. This is definitely a take-out restaurant and the owners have made it very clear that they are not used to patrons sitting- one of the tables in the middle of the restaurant had the makings of an office (see pic).
