From the moment you walk in, it's a welcoming environment. As always food is absolutely amazing, superb to many places down south. Their Dim-Sum Menu has a great variety of different plates that are very well portioned. Everything is made fresh and absolutely delicious every single time. Forever my go-to for Asian cuisine!

Fast friendly service with lots of options from dim sum, entrees, drinks, and sweets. I got the scallion pancakes amd 2 orders of pork buns. Pancakes was a little oily but good and buns were flavorful

Their service is fantastic! Friendly and attentive. The girl nicely and preciously and carefully packed up our leftovers so I really appreciate that. We used to live in Margate but we've move out a decade ago but every time we visit, we would try to come dine here. I'm not sure the food was as good as I hoped this time. The wrappings of the shu mai and the shrimp dumplings were tough after the food got cold. Usually the wrapping gets cold but not hard and tough. The pork ribs with black bean sauce, had no black beans what so ever. The steam bbq pork buns and the roasted pork buns, both had barely any fillings, just dough, and the steam bun's dough got really chewy and tough when it got cold. To me, the fried shrimp balls were very salty. I did really like the fact that they provided us a bowl of duck sauce and ginger scallion sauce for the roast duck. They asked if we wanted white rice and they didn't charge us for it so that's nice because some restaurants ask you if you want something and add the cost without telling you it's not free. We still like the place. I'm sure the next time we come visit we'll eat here again.

My husband and I stopped in here for an early dinner and fell in love with this quaint spot! The staff were so friendly and accommodating with helping us choose what to order. We settled on the classics: Honey Garlic Chicken, WonTon soup (not pictured), Shrimp Toast and Dim Sum. We split everything and it was more than enough as the portions were generous. I also really enjoyed my personal tea pot with hot tea! Our entire bill with tip (22%) came to $35! I can't remember that last time we spent that little on eating out and left full. We will definitely be back.

Here again and of course everything was delicious. We ordered Beef Chow Fun with Black Bean, Triple Salt and Pepper Seafood with Squid, Shrimp, and Scallops, and Chinese Broccoli. The Beef was very tender and the dish was very generous. The Seafood was cooked perfectly, with large shrimp and scallops. We ask for the Chinese broccoli be cut in small pieces because ot usually is cut in large stalks. The three of us weren't able to finish and took about half home. Delicious.

Authentic and delicious Chinese cooking - a rare find in South Florida. This restaurant has been around for generations but with changing ownership through the years. Luckily the food remains good and the chef is still doing a great job bringing traditional and Americanized dishes to customers. If you're looking for take out style entrees lime beef with broccoli or sweet and sour pork, they have it. If you're looking for something more authentic like ginger scallion lobster or bird's nest, they also have it. They offer dim sum all day and have fresh BBQ meats hanging on display. Unfortunately the Sunday late afternoon we dined in, the BBQ duck was already sold out. If you're going for the BBQ options, maybe call before to make sure it's still available. The beef tendon stew casserole was super meaty and tender. The flavors were rich. The chicken salted fish tofu casserole was delicious, not overly salty but still have plenty of umami. The BBQ pork was juicy and smokey. The XO seafood chives stir fry was my favorite, loaded with big pieces of fish and lots of chives but it was a little too oily. The beef chow fun was a little on the bland side but lots of bean sprouts, tender beef and squishy soft noodles. The portion sizes are great for the prices. Will definitely be back again soon!

We had a much better experience here compared to a few years back... Our service was fine -- we were greeted immediately and seated. We had friendly fast service -- unlike the rude lady who waited on us last time. Met a couple friends for lunch and we all ordered off the lunch menu. The pork with mixed veggies was the best of the offerings we chose, followed by my cashew chicken (with lots of nuts). The gal who ordered the lomein said it was rather plain -- but that's as the dish usually is done. I also ordered an item from the dim sum menu to take home. The turnip cake was quite tasty re-heated (my breakfast this morning!). As long time (as in forever/since they first opened) customers, I'm pleased to know we will be back sooner rather than later.

Authentic local Cantonese family-style restaurant! Great food all-around especially if you can order off the "Chinese" menu and not your Americanized staples! Seeing several other reviews commenting about the service - "rough around the edges" could not be a better indicator that you're in the right spot!

Decided to stop by here, craving Chinese food. This place was great! Food came out super quick, large portions, and a very large menu. I think it's my new favorite Chinese food spot.

Update: we returned for dinner, the Peking Duck and although they didn't serve it w cucumber it was overall very good, and we added the soup for an additional $15. The other dishes however fell short... Egg roll: fresh but all veggies no minced pork 3.5/5 Chicken n Broccoli 3/5 Clams w black bean: had sand and not properly washed but flavor was good 3.75/5 Young chow fried rice: 2/5 no wok hai whatsoever Beef chow fun 5/5 they pull their own noodles and has wok hai Sautéed snow pea tips: 2/5 no flavor and definitely no garlic Sweet n sour pork Hong Kong style: cornstarch batter as opposed to flour, something was amiss 2.75/5 Beef w baby bok choy: good just not great 3.5/5 Egg tart: 1/5 all pastry shell with barely any custard filling...you could tell it was the last batch and they filled just enough to squeeze out another order when clearly there was not enough with pastry that is always pale and undercooked. Service was a struggle, older gentleman seemed overwhelmed. Overall the group was not impressed. It is good for select dishes only! Service was a struggle, older gentleman seemed overwhelmed. Friends recommended Hong Kong City BBQ saying it's a little far but worth the ride to this authentic Chinese Restaurant. We got a group of ten of us together and enjoyed the large round table with a lazy Susan in the center. The restaurant is right off the turnpike with a large parking lot in front. The Chinese BBQ looked appealing, a specialty & unlike other Florida Chinese restaurants. Upon entering this rather plain free standing restaurant, my eyes were drawn to the glass case containing hanging BBQ ducks, pork and ribs. This is the first local Chinese restaurant that barbeques their food in the traditional manner. Our waiter filled the Lazy Susan with plates, cutlery, glasses of water, tea, duck sauce, and mustard. The menu was huge there were pages and pages of food that were well organized. I started with a wonton soup, which was served hot. My husband and I shared an order of spareribs that were a little fatty and not that meaty. We shared a Peking Duck, which was a little difficult to put together myself with the lazy Susan moving. Friends enjoyed shrimp and lobster sauce, Mongolian beef, tofu & vegetables, General Tao's chicken, and beef fried rice. Portions were enormous, we all brought food home. Service was very attentive and prices were very reasonable.

I was told it was available, but when we arrived, we were told the ducks had already been sold. First they said I had not reserved it, even though I called ahead. Then they said I had not paid in advance, but this business is cash only and no one explained any advance payment requirement on the phone. We ended up wasting about an hour and a half. In the end, we went to Enson Market in Plantation and were able to buy roast duck there. Their staff was helpful, the duck was handled cleanly, and the quality, taste, and price were just as good. This experience made me realize there are better options nearby.

To start, they have started providing dimsum on the weekends. When they first started doing dimsum, they had push carts. On my last visit, I didn't see any push carts. Not sure if it was due to the amount of people dining or if they had removed this. I think their Cantonese / Chinese food is amazing. Makes me feel like I'm in a Chinatown. The menu is setup for family style sharing. I personally enjoy the sizzling steak, shrimp with mayonnaise sauce, and pan fried noodles. They are one of the few Chinese restaurants in South Florida that offer roasted duck. They usually do a killer job with a crispy skin on the duck. This last visit wasn't up to our expectations but our server kindly took it to the back and gave us another. I think service has also greatly improved recently. Their staff is attentive and will change out your plates for a clean plate mid-meal. It's a bit of a drive for my family, but we'll do it for the food here.

I've been coming to Silver Pond for several years for birthdays, Chinese New Year celebration and…read moreregular dinners. Food was pretty decent New York Chinatown Cantonese dishes. With an ownership change and addition of dim sum, we had to try. We arrived Sunday at 11 am when it opened. It was pleasantly uncrowded, and restrooms were clean. It was nearly full by noon. There are no dim sum cart ladies. You order from a sheet (no pictures), so hopefully you have an inkling of what "beef stomach" and "chicken feet" are as well as a slew of other items. Unfortunately congee and desserts were all crossed off. We were happy to discover that the dim sum was very good! After going to practically every dim sum restaurant in Greater Fort Lauderdale, this was the freshest and tastiest, and not oily. The dishes come out as the chefs prepare, in no particular order. The food is steaming hot. A few unusual (for FL) dim sum included Crispy Taro Cake which had more than just taro (we all liked the dish), and the Chiu Chow Dumplings which were plump full of tasty minced ingredients. We ordered Chinese Broccoli with garlic, and Salt & Pepper Calamari off the main menu. The calamari was delicious! The waiter who has been there for years was typical no nonsense and efficient. Shockingly for a Chinese/dim sum place, the waitress actually smiled and was friendly. She even gladly took photos for us with our phones! We will be back to try more dim sum and maybe see if their dinners are as good as lunch.
