My dogs never had any cuts or problems with the service and enjoy their visits at salon. I also saw other dogs getting groomed while my dogs getting their nails done and whole atmosphere is peaceful and professional. I am glad we've such dog salon in our small town.

He came back losing a lot of weight because he was nervous with so many dogs there and still hasn't shaken that freaked out look after being home. I don't think the care was bad for the dog, but the care for the human owner was abysmal. I have never been treated like this by anyone in the wonderful town of Blowing Rock. Her husband is friendly and sane. If you really must go here, deal with him. He understood why I was upset and was helpful when I rushed to pick my dog up immediately after an international flight (because of the tone of her voice mails that came in while I was on the plane). Totally baffled by the treatment I got and never going back. As the one leading the creation of a dog park here in BR I will be sure to let all the dog parents here in town know. I had taken my dog here several times in the past and I couldn't have asked for a better place for my dog to have stayed. If the last person's dog was nervous around other dogs how is the owner to blame for that? I don't know the owner on a personal level at all, I simply know her through the times I had dropped my beloved dog off there. And if she was having an off week or something, I am pretty sure that we all have had one of those. Whether someone is opening a dog park or not in Blowing Rock that does not mean they should use their contact power to try and destroy someone's business on an app like Yelp. So to spread some positivity... do not hesitate to take your four legged family member here. You will not be disappointed. The accommodations are above what you will find anywhere else (trust me I had tried them all) and my dog loved it so much that every time we would pull in the driveway she knew exactly where she was and was excited. Anna was never that way any other time I had taken her someplace when I had to go out of town. I just hope the other posters "personality" didn't prevent the dogs in Blowing Rock from getting a dog park. As Mountain Mama's supposed personality conflict with the past-poster shouldn't prevent your dog from staying at the best doggie daycare and boarding in the high country.

Was visiting the Boone area for a month. My rental was not conducive to winter time dog bathing. Thankfully I found the wash n waggin van while exploring Boone. I jotted the number down and gave them a call. I believe they serve watauga and ashe counties. Norma answered right away, we set up a time and she called when she was on her way. My two pups are big dogs and Norma greeted them enthusiastically. She plugged in to my house and hustled the dirty ones into her mobile salon (van) and I made a quick trip to the store. When I returned, they were just finishing up. The dogs looked and smelled incredible. Their coats really shine! They've also stayed stink free for longer than at home baths. Norma did a great job, was professional and friendly, has a great dog side manner and I'm so glad I found her. The long trip back to California will be much more pleasant.

The best sign is that Jake does not run and hide when she drives up in the yard. He is not the least bit anxious with her and that is a sign that she is gentle and really good with dogs. Her cost is about $10 more than some other groomers in town but it is worth the cost because I have a home-based business and can keep on working while Jake gets his hair cut. Our daughter works at the Boone Animal Hospital and Norma has a very good reputation for quality cuts and being really good with dogs with the folks who work there and their customers.

We have taken our younger dog through training with Melissa and she was great. He learned a lot and it was it a good experience.
