My parents brought their Yorkie to Lucky Dog to be groomed (as they have done at least twice before) and the owner/operator told them their dog was neglected. She said she had spoken with another groomer in town regarding one of their past, well-loved pups. The owner also claimed that it was difficult to get money from them when in fact my mom went out of her way, across town to pull out cash to pay her because the owner does not accept credit/debit cards. Their dog is one of the best cared for I have ever seen. They wash & brush him well and he is always fed quality food. 0/5, DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

The lady Kathy is very rude. She brought my mom's dog back and her foot was bleeding shortly after so we called her to ask if the dog hurt herself there or if she hurt herself at home and Kathy flew off the handle and started raising her voice to my mom saying she didn't do anything to her dog. My mom said I wasn't blaming you just asking if you knew what happened. Since then we have reached out to Kathy and she completely ignores my messages for a return call. I must say she has poor communication skills. I found a new groomer Fox and Hound they are pretty nice and closer to our house. read more

I thought I had made a review a long time ago but I guess not. I can't comment on the services but when I took my Saint Bernard there for the first time about 6.5 years ago, I arrived 20 minutes early, figuring I had paperwork and all that. No paperwork and the lady/owner? Was in a room to the left of where you walk in, she heard the door and hollered something like how can I help you or whatever. I stated who I was and she immediately cut me off and yelled, 'you're 20 minutes early! I'm not even done with the one I'm on!' She was clearly pissed off. I said I figured we had paperwork. She said there's no paperwork and that, 'I don't have time for this! The dog I'm on is old and it shits and pisses itself the whole time I'm bathing it! God I wish it'd just die!!!' So I took my beloved baby and got the hell out of there as fast as we could! Who could forget an experience like this? Not me. Go to Dirty Dog Daycare. I bet that poor dog was just soiling itself because she scares the heck out of him! Not my baby. And not to mention it's a big smelly garage with JUNK everywhere! Looks like a filthy hoarders mess. The owner does a great and thorough job. My dog always looks very cute, clean and happy when he returns from Lucky Dog. The groomer/owner is fast and charges a reasonable rate (cheaper than most places I've taken him in the past). No stars for this business. Kathy the owner has groomed my Morkie several times. And actually did a good job. So I figured by now she had it down. My husband drops her off and picks her up 3 hours later and she looks exactly the same and yes Kathy takes my $50 cash, has to be cash!!! So I called after he got home and asked what had been done cause she looks EXACTLY the same and she tells me that I have been doing it at home (NOT) so she just followed along. That with the snow she thought we wanted her to be warmer. WTH??? What snow??? To drop my dog back off, and she'll go shorter when my husband takes her back she hands him the money back and says go somewhere else!!!. This lady is psycho!! I don't believe she did anything but brush her out. She didn't bathe her, trim her coat, or cut her nails. BE CAREFUL if doing business with this lady. read more

Please DO NOT take your pets to this woman. I've never written a review for anything but I could not stand by and watch her scream and bully her customers and scare the animals. She starts off seeming to be a kind person, interested in your pet, but after months go by you start to see cracks in the things she says and accuses you of. She accuses you of not taking care of you dog, ect. Her business is filthy and her dogs are constantly barking. The smell was so bad I couldn't stand to be in the room and had to walk outside. I had the misfortune of bringing my puppy to Kathy for a nail trim who at the time was 6 months old and weighed around 5 pounds. Kathy was very agitated that my dog was not cooperating with her and did not want her feet touched. She then proceeded to attach a harnessed leash to her. That did not help. She became so irritated at my dog that she unleashed her and threw her down on the floor and proceeded to kick her across the floor into a wall Let me remind you that this was a 5 pound puppy. The police were called and come to find out Kathy, Lucky Dog Grooming was operating without a Business License. My dog has lasting effects from the abuse she endured that day from that woman. Please all pet owners beware of this woman. This occurred in front of me. Think of what she is doing when you are not there!!!! I have to choose a rating or I can't post this important review but she deserves no stars!!!! This incident happened several years ago but clearly she is in the wrong business. My elderly parents just picked up their dog from Kathy. This was the 5th or 6th time the dog has been groomed there. They have not had any problems in the past but today Kathy went ballistic on them. They don't even know what happened. She told them to pick up the dog at 2pm. When they arrived at 1:56pm, she yelled at them that they were too early. My mom asked if they should come back and Kathy said no. Kathy was irritated and continued to mutter under her breath. When my dad took the dog out to the car, Kathy followed him yelling that he had disrespected her. He asked her "what are you talking about?" He got no answer as she continued on a tirade and acting agitated. My parents are elderly and treat people with respect and kindness. They came home upset and disturbed by this encounter. They don't know what happened and were wondering if they did something wrong. I read them other yelp reviews and they are comforted that they did nothing wrong and that Kathy has some issues. They do not deserve to be treated so badly (no one does) and we are looking for a new groomer. Thanks to all who give feedback. read more

Today, May 30, 2012 was to be a second appointment for my poodle. "Kathy' had previously groomed my dog, but it was only after I made her answer questions for me. I informed 'Kathy' that I had never previously owned a dog that needed to be groomed on a regular basis. She was quite dismissive, but I persisted. I made her tell me what were my options in styles of cut and what she would be doing with my dog. I MADE her engage in a conversation about grooming of dogs. Our first visit there, left my gut in a knot, but after today's interaction with 'Kathy' left me confirmed that I will NEVER use her services again, and will urge others to NOT use her services as well. When I brought my dog in - she didn't greet my dog - but reached out and snagged her from my arms. I told her I would have gladly handed her over to her had "Kathy' asked. I requested the type of cut, and 'Kathy' stated that she couldn't do that cut. I asked why and instead of answering my question, she said that maybe I should take my dog home. Take her home because I requested a certain style of cut? (sounds like someone doesn't want to or know how to do their job) 'Kathy' was the one who, upon our initial contact, informed me of that style of cut. Now I question if she has that ability. I question the treatment of animals in her care during her services. I was a first appointment of the day - and the shop was filthy. Dust, dog hair (some, is to be expected, but not the amount that was in the reception area), general odor was rather disgusting. Her shop offers 'training' - but if she is this dismissive with owners I would strongly recommend that no utilize her 'training'. Oh, and when another client was dropping off his dog, he stated he had never left his animal anywhere before - she showed a complete and udder lack of compassion. She was demonstrative to the customer stating "it's a dog, she will be fine". Wow. In the parking lot, I urged the gentleman to go retrieve his pet - because it seems "Kathy' has a lack of compassion for both canine and human alike. This lady is a WHACK JOB!!! Do not trust her with your pets!!! I called a week ago to make my appointment. At this time she told me that I could bring my dog in the morning and pick her up at 1. I got to the shop and she began asking me what type of cut I wanted for my long haired matted shitzu and I told her to just cut her close because I have a lot of stickers at my House that get caught in her fur. She then asked what time I wanted to get her and I told her I would be there a little after one, to which she rudely replied "that's way too early" I told her I thought that was what we discussed on the phone and she told me that was not going to work but I could schedule another appointment if I needed to. I told her I would rather do today since we were already here and asked her what time I could pick up my dog. She asked when I got off work and I told her 4 but I didn't want to leave her that long and asked if I could pick her up at 1:30. She sighed and said yes, but very rudely told me not to come a minute before 1:30 or she would give my dog back exactly how she was, whether her hair cut was done or not. At this point, I felt the anger and hostility that she had and was not comfortable leaving my dog there so I politely said "if my schedule is going to be a problem, I will just take her home now." She looked at me and gasped and said "I cannot believe how rude you are!" This whole time, she was holding my dog in her arms and after this comment I asked her to give me my dog back. She then took a pen and scratched off my appointment and said she was going to make a note, the proceeds to scribble in her calendar that I was rude, all while still holding my dog! I asked 5 times for her to give me my dog back and she would not, then finally gave her back and I walked out, then she chased me out of the building yelling at me through the parking lot!!! This lady was seriously crazy! I cannot believe I almost left my dog in her care! After I left, I called another groomer in town to make an appointment and told them that I just left Lucky Dog and the lady was incredibly rude to me, her response was "we hear that a lot!" I then said she was seriously crazy and the lady said "we hear that a lot too!" Just save yourself the trouble and don't go to Lucky Dog!!! If she's like this when the owners are present.. After about a week of calling trying to get an appointment for my mothers dog the phone was finally answered. I asked if there were any appointments for a friday. She replied "Yea 10". I asked if there were any options after 1 pm. She promptly replied with "No 10 take it or leave it.". My mother went to drop off our dog and started getting lectured on the condition of her hair and how bad of an owner she was. She had 2 matted balls of fur on her back and head. She also claimed that we called too much. So this means she obviously doesn't respect her customers if she's blatantly ignoring their calls. I had a great experience taking my dog to Kathy. She seems to genuinely love animals, which put me immediately at ease. I asked for a short summer cut for my Yorkie, which I have never done before, and I was worried it wouldn't look good. But she looked so so cute and was totally happy when I went to pick her up. The rates are reasonable and it was pretty fast. I will definitely return. read more

I have to say how disappointed I am with the service, or lack thereof, that I received from Kathy @ Lucky Dog Grooming today. We have been taking our dogs to her for 10 plus years. Always with a drop off time 10-11 am and she states a pick up time . Many times my husband has went to pick up our two dogs, at the time she has said, he gets there and she is not done and asks him to come back at a different time. While it is a little inconvenient, we understand things happen and we never make a fuss or say anything derogatory. Today she calls me at 11:03 am and says that I forgot to bring my dogs. I said "my husband is bringing them and is aware of the drop off time" I asked if I could give him a call to see why he wasn't there yet and she said "no, I decided 3 years ago that I was going to only do small dogs and decided to keep doing yours (ours are 30 pound beagle mixes) and now that you stood me up I am no longer going to do them " I was surprised at her resolution of this matter. I said "I can't believe he is 3 minutes late and that you would think we, after all the years would ever stand you up" We got off the phone, I called my husband (phone stamp 11:04am) and asked where he was. He was outside her shop unloading the dogs. I told him not to take them in... and what she said... I am so very disappointed and surprised at her lack of professionalism and her condescending attitude in this matter. I was one that stuck up for her business when almost every time her business name came up, others spoke of their bad experiences and why they would never go to her again. I took my dog here and the lady was always interrupting me and being so rude. It was incredibly hot there that day and we walked inside her shop where she had dogs just stacked on cages waiting for their owners and the worst smell. I had to walk outside and get air. I was a little nervous about taking our dog for grooming here after reading some of the reviews. But, I figured I would go and make my own opinion. Maybe she has relocated, but there were not any ladders or anything hazardous. There is a reception area in the front and you can see the dogs in the back in crates, like most grooming places. I could see where some might not "appreciate" her personality, but I felt like she was honest and tells it like it is, but she is nice. A fair price, too, and we liked the cut that she gave our precious dog. I will return again. read more

I took my two little dogs to this place once to have them groomed and almost didn't leave them. The business was stinky and dirty. I called after that to have their ears cleaned, toenails cut and an anal drain. She told me she would have to bathe them for the anal drain so I asked her how much to do those things and this is what she said to me. Do you trim them yourself? I replied Yes I do, she says I'm not interested and hung up on me. This is the rudest person ever. she shouldn't be in business as I would not trust her with my animals. I have taken my dog to Lucky Dog (which is located in the industrial park on kunzler ranch rd) for many years for the most part she has done a good job grooming my shitzu but the last few times I have gone there she has been so Rude and confrontational its insane! Plus the place stinks !! Today I walked in to pick up my dog and she grabs her out of the cage and practically throws her at me if i wouldn't have been standing in the right spot to grab her my dog would have been thrown off the counter 5 feet off the ground! She looks at me and proceeds to tell me what a horrible person I am and that I should just drive my dog to the vet and have her put down! After screaming at me for 5 minutes she proceeds to tell me karma is horrible and she hopes someday someone will treat me just as horrible! I have no idea what she was even talking about because other than being fat my dog is taken care of great!! Think before bringing your animal to her. Our Appt was at 10. Kathy the owner was being condescending regarding my dogs brushing, asked me to pick her up at 1pm and as I reached for door told me, she did appreciate me getting her written up! I had no idea what she was talking about, she stated I was on the property for 40 min. I tried to tell her I was there 15 min early combing my dogs hair..as other customer came in she waved her hand to me saying she wasn't going to argue with me...(I thought maybe she has me confused with someone). I went back at 1, I paid with speaking to her for fear of her abrutness... As I opened door she again said she got written up twice because I was peeking in her windows and yelling the dogs were barking...I tried to tell her I said no dogs barket at all when I looked in window at 9:50 when I arrived to see if I was at the right place... Btw she has moved to Rose Industrial off Kunzler Ranch Road.. I said, Maam I'm sorry but I never yelled anything and I can ask your business neighbor because he and I drove up at same time ..she yelled for me to go, JUST GOOOO! I let my dog out of her door and said, I can reassure anyone for u I did not get her 40 min early... I knocked at neighboring business, she came back out with something in her hand and came at me yelling to go get out off the property now..she threaten to call police I said yes please...as I was reaching for my phone and getting in car.. I'm so confused as to what the heck just happened!!! I called Sheriff they took report, called her, called me back, I recalled to say they needed to physically go to her to tell her she cannot threaten people to get off that property... My dog was shaking as bad as I was. Sargent at sheriff Dept said yes, they will follow up phone call with a visit. I also went to Animal Care... I'm not doubting, she knows her job well and loves dogs but today she didn't... My dog was upset. My previous place was Dirty Dog Day care...my dog loved going there never was shaking when leaving... Due to a medical emergency, owner closed for a while... Found out today, she is reopened.. yay for us. read more
