A local store that carries everything I need for my horses and dogs. They know my name and I know theirs.

This is for the Kelseyville location since obviously they don't want to allow reviews at that location. The products have improved over the last year as they seemed to always seemed to have low stock on things I needed. The girls that work the register are very rude and like to make fun of the customers. They should probably be more grateful that they aren't closing like a lot of businesses. Very sad to see how this community has devolved. Punch card system to track purchases is horribly unorganized and falsely advertised by the girls at the register. read more

I just took my basset hound down to rainbow ag to use their dog washer. Never have I used it but oh my God you have a big dog take your dog down there and wash them $10 for the first 10 minutes if you put dollar bills in before your 10 minutes is over you add time. It has shampoo conditioning a flea protector spray and a blow dryer. I will never wash her in my bathroom again that washer is worth every penny. Do you have a big dog perfect. I was extremely happy and satisfied with the service. read more

Appreciation of the customer, and a true love of his business has shown through with shining colors. The day after I did my 3 star review, citing questionable customer service on the day I visited, I received a message [ it's attached to my review] from Jim, the owner of Rainbow Ag. I think it is true dedication to his business & the customer, to see what the public is saying about his store, and to address the issue and followup. I am impressed and happy that we had that dialog. [ an early message to me for some reason was not saved, where he further explained why the staff was down] He is a true 'on top of it' manager. Now if only his staff will get well! PS-- i think this just shows that it usually pays to be patient [ ie, standing in line too long ] and not get irate with clerks who are obviously doing their darndest to serve you. Sometimes the simple explanation, staff shortage, etc, is right-- not that the store & management is being poorly run or negligent to the public. The simple thing for me, if it had really gotten me worked up [ which it didn't, I wasn't pressed for time & I liked looking at toy tractors & toy pigs while in line] , I could have easily come back another time. I began as a customer when we moved to Ukiah and ended up working for Rainbow Ag for two yrs. A great place to work and an excellent place to shop for whatever your pet and/or livestock needs may be. Of course there's all the equipment you need to keep your home looking good and staff that is knowledgeable in all areas right down to the smallest details. I will continue to shop there and always be a call away should they extra hand during a busy sale or holiday times. Once you become part of the Rainbow Ag family whether as a valued customer or an employee, you'll always feel welcome. Most impressive is the way the Mayfield Family has stepped up and helped the community during disasters. I buy all of my Stihl and Honda products from Rainbow. There service department is very professional and highly educated in the products they sell. I have had a few issue with my Stihl products but Rainbow has gone above and beyond to make sure they can do everything in there power to help. read more

Very interesting place.. I've never been to a store where they sell chainsaws, cowboy boots, and dog toys all under the same roof. Just me? It didn't seem to phase anyone else, lol. The day I came they were having a 20% off everything except power tools sale. Pretty good deals! I only shopped in the pet supply portion of the store, don't have much need for the other stuff. At regular price the pet food, toys, and treats were cheaper than Petsmart so that made us happy. Unfortunately they didn't carry the specific grain free Blue Buffalo food my dog eats so we couldn't stock up (as the very friendly employee suggested we do since it was a sale day). Speaking of friendly employees.. This place has good customer service! We were greeted at least 3 separate times and asked if we needed help finding anything. To me, this is the kind of service that should be provided everywhere. Kudos to management, you're running a good team and have the right amount of employees on the floor. I love to spoil my dogs anywhere I can. The only place open on Sunday with pet foods while I vacation in town. Rainbow was amazing, everyone was friendly and had a great selection of doggie goods at BETTER prices then the major retailers that supply pet goods. They had a huge 20% off everything and a great store for other needs. My girlfriend lovedddddd the little chicks there ! Great service and a great store, wish I had them in my area. read more

The worst customer service I have ever had. I asked Maddie where the cat stuff was she pointed and said over there. Not sure where over there was I walked randomly around and finally found what I was looking for was in a locked case. I saw Maddie again she seemed to flirt with every male around but could offer no help to me. I said hey could you help as I'm saying it she walks off. Literally mid sentence. Desperate for help at this point I go to the cashier. I ask what the other girls name was speaking of maddie. I said I need help with a locked case I've asked Maddie several times for help she walk away every time. The cashier laughed I'm not sure what the joke was but ok.. I just want some dewormer for my cat. This is frustrating. She assures me Maddie will be back to help if I wait over there. I wait for 5 minutes there is three customers and three employees I can't fathom what the problem could possibly be. I left Maddie never came. Ugh I really thought they would help and answer my questions. I thought this was a place where animals come first. It's not it's more of a hook up spot I guess for some. This is the best place to find anything animal-related! There's a huge selection of dog and cat supplies as well as horse, checken, bird, cattle, etc supplies (and food) as well! There are even toy trucks (steel!) and other toy farm impliments. The folks are really friendly and helpful and the prices are reasonable. If you want a saddle, they've got it. Want to make your own lead for walking your ______? Those supplies are also in abundance. It's a great place to go! read more

Rainbow Ag is more than just a feed, clothing, Ag equipment, irrigation, etc store, they're part of our community. That said, in my non professional opinion, they have the best small engine parts and service store in the valley. They never tire of my endless questions about Briggs and Stratton motor parts. Who knew there was a bladder on the carburetor or whatever :). I can even buy parts online now through their website. Anyway, Saving up for a new Stihl string trimmer and then saving up some more for the hedge trimmer attachment. Some of the models get extremely pricy so I asked the sales guy what the difference was. Loved his response: "how fast do you want to get done?" When's the next sale guys...lol read more

I contacted 3 different businesses in the Ukiah area to supply straw bales for seating at my daughter's wedding in Philo. This business was by far the least expensive, and certainly the most accommodating. Their price per bale was less, and they said they would even refund the money if we returned them! Their delivery man "Junior" also gave us a very reasonable delivery price, and a discount if he picked them up. Although we decided against using the straw bale seating, I wanted to recommend this business to others because of their reasonable prices, and also because of the woman in their office and also Junior being so service-oriented. read more

I appeared in the "Service" department as a refugee of Willits Power in Willits, CA. At Rainbow, I was helped every step of the way by friendly knowledgable people who told me I wasn't the only customer who had been abused by the Willits outfit, and at the counter was another customer who had also fled the maw of Willits. Great conversation. Rainbow folks not only helped me get what I needed, but showed me how to fix something I wouldn't have known was wrong until getting home, WAY far away from help! Instead of $25 worth of WRONG, I got $150 worth of RIGHT. And Rainbow stocks stuff which cuts my shopping time in half! But best of all, they were kind to me, didn't ridicule my ignorance, and really wanted to solve my problem. They did, and I'm a devoted customer from this point on. Rainbow Ag is a wonderful place not only to buy quality animal food and tools of all kinds, western clothing, and find someone who can repair a tool for you, they are full of heart. They have cat condos there that have cats and kittens from AVAR, Anderson Valley Animal Rescue. These cats come from all sorts of situations, have been checked medically, spayed or neutered, and get twice daily attention to their food, water and litter box by volunteers. Some patrons stop by regularly to play with the cats too. All of the cats and kittens are adoptable and the person interested in adoption will receive personal attention regarding the suitability of their home situation for a particular feline. AND for people with pets, there is a Saturday afternoon 3 - 5 Veterinary Clinic in the parking lot giving low cost vaccines and such.The owner of Rainbow Ag adopted his dog from a local shelter! Bought my Still Weed Wacker based on the sale guy personal recommendation, and it has been fantastic! Going to a place were the sales people know the products from personal experience makes all the difference, I paid $100 more for the model than what I was going to buy from Home Depot, but after a year of perfect performance it was so worth it! Also buy all of my pet food and supplies from here, staff have given truthful and honest information and it really has improved my animals quality of life. read more

A repair shop disaster had me very upset with Rainbow, but the owner has made a genuine effort to correct the situation. Solid leadership and a hands on owner that recognizes the training potential in mistakes is a recipe for success. Loved this store. I had a salesman named Estavon. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. I wanted a new weed eater, a fairly good one,but not too expensive. I really appreciated his first hand experience because of his side business of gardening. They actually tried out the weed eater at the store to make sure it ran fine. It did.
