Camp Bow Wow has been a wonderful addition to our weekly routine! I've been bringing Huxley once a…read moreweek for a few months now. If it weren't for CBW he would be crated 8-5pm Monday thru Friday. Now he goes to camp on Wednesday or Thursday and gets to run and play all day, which has made a huge difference in his behavior at home. I love that I can watch Hux play on my phone or computer via the camp's webcams in each room. There's a camp counselor in each room to clean up after the dogs, make sure nothing gets out of hand, and give them a little love. The staff always greets us with a smile and now know Huxley quite well. In addition to weekly camp visits we've boarded Huxley for a night on a few different occasions. Each dog gets their own little room with a cot. I've sent a blanket and his toys to make it more homey for the night. The counselors handle feeding, medicine, etc. They even have grooming services. Huxley is known at his vet's office for hating having his nails trimmed but CBW did a great job with those once too. We love Camp Bow Wow!

We recently moved to the area and we have two adorable dogs who need grooming and boarding. We went through their process of being approved they both passed with flying colors. Next came our first time boarding, we communicated that we wanted our dogs to stay together in the same room. This was ignored and our girls stayed in two different rooms and we sternly communicated to them that this could not happen the next time we boarded. We forgave and moved on since people do make mistakes. We had them groomed a couple times and everything went smoothly until this most recent time. I went to pick up one of our dogs and the receptionist told me a final price for both the daycare and the grooming. Yet, a few a days later I look at my credit card statement and the price charged was over $20 higher than the price I was told. Very confused, we called them asking for an explanation. Their response was that the receptionist must have forgotten to tell me the final cost or I must have misheard her when I was in there or since most of their people know the additional charges that they just don't mention them. Well I am new to the area and I always appreciate transparency and good communication. Their receptionist lacked this and so did the people we talked to on the phone afterwards. Our dogs mean too much to us to work with a company who can't listen to basic instructions or communicate openly and professionally. There are much better options around so my advice is just keep looking instead of going here.

They did everything we asked exactly as we asked for it to be done, took great care to make sure they were on the same exact schedule we have them on when we are home, and she took the time to learn all the small details and do them correctly. His reactivity to other dogs has decreased since he's spent time at Central Bark, and I appreciate all of the activities and enrichment they provide, making us feel that we are part of a community. With her help, I adopted two Shibas from Tri-State Shiba Inu Rescue (she was fostering them at her facility). Pam has been there to assist with questions and guidance along the way. I have used Royal Kennels boarding services, and always found their kennels to be clean and well maintained. Having an owner living onsite makes me feel more comfortable, and I know that any dog in their care is in good hands. I have also recommended their services to a friend with some challenging dogs. Due to Pam's expertise, my friend has been able to travel without worrying about her pups. I have not yet purchased a Shiba Inu puppy, but when I am ready, I won't hesitate to get a Royal Kennels puppy. In the many times I have visited their facilities, their dogs have been well socialized and well cared for. I know a number of people who have gotten a Royal Kennels puppy or adult dog, and they have all been very happy with their new family members.

But at Royal Kennels, my dogs are always happy when we get there, so I know it is a vacation for them as well. I have Flatcoated Retrievers, and they can be a lot of work. Pam, Dan and the staff are experienced with all types of dogs. They have seen it all, and nothing can faze them. There are a lot of great things about Royal Kennels, but for me it really comes down to the personal, attentive care that Pam provides. I know that Pam will follow my instructions for any special meals or supplements or medications. I know my dogs will enjoy the freedom to hang out on the inside or the outside area of their run, as they choose. I know that Pam and the Royal Kennels staff will play with my dogs and give them love and attention, without me having to sign up for it as a separate line item on the bill. And unlike what can happen when I leave them at home with a house sitter or family, I do not have to worry that someone will accidentally leave my gate or door open and my dogs will get out! Pam took care of my heartworm positive rescue dog when she was still on crate rest (that dog is now 13 years old and still stays at Royal), and more recently, my 9 yr old cancer patient. Our vet said it would be ok to leave him as long as he enjoyed going there. Pam is one of his favorite people and he always has a good time at Royal Kennels, so we were able to go on a long-planned trip without worrying about how he would do. I have learned over the years that nothing can compare to leaving my dogs at a privately owned kennel where the owners reside on the premises. If there is a concern, I do not want to have to deal with an employee or a manager who has no responsibility or authority and is only doing what they get paid for. I want someone who treats me and my dogs like family (only better, because they won't forget to latch the gate!). And that's why when I go out of town, my dogs go to Royal Kennels.

I have nothing but good things to say at Suite Paws. We've boarded our 2 dogs there several times…read more They have family suites so they can both stay together which is huge for us. One of our pups has a severe phobia of nail trimming and we picked him up and his nails were nice and trimmed and we didn't even request it. The entire staff seems to love our pups which gives us piece of mind when we are traveling. I can't thank them enough!
