I let those with a stronger addiction go and took the time to secure the best seat in the house and set up my laptop. With my cortado in hand, it was two hours of pounding away at emails until I was caught up enough to try driving for an hour. This was a great space to spend on a laptop or studying. The coffee was excellent, the seating is comfortable (they also have an outside patio that has power outlets nearby) and the wifi works well. Five stars for Lucky Goat. Mayo brew!!I mean everything I guess you're paying for the drink itself and the barista that made it and God knows what else but wish somebody would come up with a two dollar cup go in to get it no waiting or anything like that. The best coffee in Tally hands down. Their roasts and flavors are unique to them and adds a nice touch. Whenever I'm in town I make sure I stop here at least once. Was in search of something to eat, a cup of coffee, and a space to work in for a couple hours and Lucky Goat really came through. I was happy to find they had savory options to eat. I'm not much for sweet breakfast items (muffins and the like) and so often that's all a coffee house has. Not so at Lucky Goat! I ordered a spinach feta pastry that was nothing short of divine. If you get it and they ask if you'd like it heated. You would! It is melt in your mouth perfection. For my beverage, I got a vanilla latte made with almond milk. The espresso they use is high quality which made for a latte that was delicious in every way. They have plenty of space for working (both inside and out) with outlets to be found if you need them. From what I've heard Lucky Goat is a famous Tally staple, so I was really excited to goat (bahahah). This location was a little tough to get to, but once we did it was clean and extremely pleasant inside. I thought it was fun that they have a couple different house made flavors of cold brew- and I know cold brew is usually very strong but just be warned, we got one here and it was so strong it didn't get finished. But the honey lavender latte was phenomenal. It's easy to overdo lavender and I am not at all a fan of the flavor but it was very light and well blended in this drink. I came for the coffee, and left disappointed. The coffee seemed to have a little burnt aftertaste, and it was nothing to write home about. I also got a quiche, but it was decent (not that I have that much experience with it). It was microwaved to be hot, which didn't help. I wouldn't recommend it, the aesthetic was very nice though. I met my dad for coffee at Lucky Goat across the street from FDOACS (what a mouthful, huh). Turning in and out of this plaza is a drag - and parking isn't much better. But there are a good number of spots in the area, aside from the immediate private parking lot. The coffee shop has a lot of open space. Could use a little more seating, but I found a table to sit at near an outlet for my laptop. I ordered a cortado - you can choose from one of their select and special single origin options versus their signature. I went ahead with whatever Lucky Goat they had on rotation. It was a smooth cortado. It is nice that they have the shot to milk ratio on the wall for each of their drinks, too. Prices are reasonable, too, compared to Starbucks. My dad wasn't a huge fan of the cold brew - they have flavored cold brews, but he got the regular. He drinks it black, but with a little sweetener. There was a coconut flavor of sorts that he found interesting. However, he found it a little watered down - I reminded him not every cold brew is as strong as Starbucks'. Overall, I would love to be able to spend the afternoon reading or working at Lucky Goat. Thankfully, there are other locations in Tallahassee closer to my parents' house, which I am excited to frequent whenever I'm in Tallahassee. read more

The original Lucky Goat Coffee location and still the home of the best cup of coffee in Tallahassee! Lucky Goat is everything that you could ever want in a coffee shop. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the coffee is quality and tastes like black gold, and the staff is happy to teach you something new about your favorite drink! The Goat Bomb is an absolutely must-try, especially as a electric shot of energy during the hot summer months. Seriously, I didn't know a cup of coffee could go down that smooth. Otherwise, I typically order their cappuccinos for a nice breakfast drink and throw in a fresh pastry from Tasty Pastry that they always have in the case. As a caveat though, the seats fill up quickly on the weekends with students and other people studying and working, so come in early to stake out your seat. Lucky Goat used to have storefront in a small strip mall, down the street from this location. They've exploded since those days, and it's easy to see why. Their cold brew is infused with nitrogen, which gives a frothy, creamy mouthfeel even without added dairy. Cold brewing generally results in a milder, fruitier, and sweeter taste. They serve it in a pint glass and I order it without ice which makes me feel like I'm drinking a beer before noon, but in a socially acceptable way. You can even get it with a shot of espresso ("a Goat Bomb"), flavored, or with vanilla/cream ("a Tallycinno"). They once told me that the Black Gold French Roast is the coffee they use in the cold brew. I've made it myself overnight in a french press. While it's quite good, theirs is better. I have their growler and occasionally treat myself to a 64 oz refill of cold brew. When you want a few glasses, that's the most economical way to go. A pound of their freshly-roasted coffee is my go-to hostess gift when I'm visiting someone out of town. If I'm not choosing a single origin, my personal favorite is the the Billy Goat breakfast blend. For someone who prefers flavored coffee, consider the Southern Pecan. This is a great place to study on weekdays when it's a little quieter. When it's busy, you can park in the gravel lot on the far side of the building. Their baristas are knowledgeable and skilled if you'd like to order a drink that isn't merely poured from a tap. My favorite pastry is the neon green pistachio muffin that tastes like the batter had a nice douse of pistachio (or almond?) extract. The cold brew brownie is a close second. read more

They told me the Guatemalan was smooth and somewhat sweet and that they were sampling it today. They also told me it was 10% off this month because its the coffee of the month. In my previous review, I expressed my curiosity in watching Lucky Goat grow in the community. Lo and behold, in merely a matter of weeks I'm updating my previous review to the highest accolades Yelp offers. Can I get a drumroll please? (drumroll sounds) Five stars to Lucky Goat and the BEST ICED COFFEE IN TALLAHASSEE. Their cold nitro brew comes directly from the tap. They even serve it in a fitting pint glass. After consuming, you'll never want to have another cup from those chain coffee monopolies ever again. This is a true work of art. And damn, it goes down smooth. After being privileged enough to attend their grand opening, I only have the highest praise for the master coffee roasters. Ask the baristas for their expertise, because they are as knowledgeable as they come. I'm even updating this review from Lucky Goat as I type! The word is out. Lucky Goat now has patrons coming in and out or occupying their wonderful spacious environment at all times. The coffee bar vibe excels on every level. The first time I had Lucky Goat was at Lofty Pursuits. I was stunned at how perfect the taste was, not the crappy diner coffee I was expecting. I have since crafted an acute obsession with Lucky Goat coffee on account of there literally being nary a bean that can compete. I had tried the coffee at different venues but had never gotten anything from the source. On my way to Tom Brown Park, my extreme, newborn-related sleep deprivation kicked in and I stopped in for a (hopefully literal) pick me up. The cafe itself is nice; not too over the top as some nouveau riche cafe's can be. It's cozy with plenty of seating, wifi, and lots of stainless steel appliances: what more could you ask for? The barista was not super friendly, but not pretentious and he made a damn good latte. As was expected the coffee was nutty with zero acidity or bitterness: it was perfect. My daughter was very content with her m&m cookie and mama got the kick in the pants that I needed before chasing my toddler around the playground for 2 hours. Lucky Goat: I love you. read more

This is the best coffee in Tally. I'm currently hooked on the southern pecan flavor. They do offer almond milk and the almond milk latte is frothy and delicious. My daughter got the kids hot chocolate. She was very impressed by the extra chocolate pump and the design on top. First time to this location! I got just a regular drip of the day with almond milk; the coffee was too acidic for my taste but it's nothing they did wrong! Just me being picky. I also got the spinach quiche which was ok, the staff heated it up at my request. The spinach tasted a little weird but I think warm spinach just does that sometimes.
