It's very hard for me to find a stylist who understands, and can manage, my hair type. It's thick, but not super coarse. It's curly. It's a lot. And I have a lot of empathy for the women and men who have had to try to work miracles on it throughout the years. But where many have failed (despite valiant efforts) this unassuming, affordable little salon has CONSISTENTLY nailed cuts for my hair type. I saw Lana for awhile until she moved on. When I went to see Hailey, I was nervous, because I've historically had to REALLY negotiate the laws of physics with stylists new to my hair to achieve even remotely what I want in a cut. Hailey just took one look at my hair and said "This is gonna be so fun," and that's when I knew that lightning would strike twice and it did. I went from long, thick, wavy hair to a really cute french bob that hits in ALL the right places because Hailey knows what she's doing. They all do, as far as evidence suggests. I've never had a bad cut here. There is something about this modest and unassuming location that attracts really master stylists. My hair is troublesome and I've NEVER had a bad cut in this little salon. Not a single one. And bonus, after you're done, you can go get some incredible corned beef next door :D

When you walk into a salon--especially one in such a competitive industry--you should feel appreciated as a customer, not as though the business is doing you a favor by allowing you to be there. Today, when I went to pay, he informed me that I had supposedly been undercharged during my previous visit and added approximately $15-$20 to my bill. I was honestly taken aback. I explained that I paid exactly what I was asked to pay at my last appointment. If the salon made an error when calculating my bill, how is that the customer's fault? He was very rude and dismissive about the entire situation and never even clearly explained what I had supposedly been undercharged for. I paid the additional amount without arguing and left, but the whole interaction left a very bad taste in my mouth. For a business, absorbing a $15-$20 mistake made by its own staff would have been a small price to pay compared with making a longtime customer feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. This is especially disappointing considering that the cost of my services has nearly doubled over the past two years. I have continued coming because I value Anna and the beautiful work she does, but after today's experience, I am genuinely reconsidering whether I want to return. You simply should not treat loyal customers this way. If it weren't for Anna, I would not step foot in this salon again.

A style cut is cutting more than 2 inches while creating a new hairstyle.(That includes layering,beveling,shaping,etc.) (this price does not include shampoo,blow,and style) $15 and up 15 min." Well, long story short, Ms. Thing thought she was slick and was planning on charging me full price. I came into the salon freshly relaxed and blow dried. I only wanted a cut and curl. In fact, I sent her a message stating that I wanted to be curled and left her my number and email address. When I got there, she acknowledged that she received said message. I tell the shampoo girl I'm only getting cut & curled. Kelli says "oh we don't do that." Why? Because "I like to use my own products. I don't know what you put in your hair." Um, how about you just ask me what I used. She tried to tell me that I picked an add on service. But it didn't say that online (see above. Copy/pasted straight from StyleSeat.com). Plus she had my contact info. I showed her 2 pictures of pretty much the same cut, except one cut was a little longer. Needless to say, home girl chopped my hair off! And when I say chopped, I mean CHOPPED!! Uneven and chunky with too many weighted ends. I told her I didn't like what she had done so far. She then proceeded to tell me that she doesn't do just cuts and curls without shampooing. Then, she said she wasn't finished and that she still needed to go back in and "clean it up." Fine. She then said "$35." I said "how about $30." She said "I don't barter my prices. That's just where I am in my career." What!?! She didn't bother to move my ears & touched my 3x with that hot ass flat iron. I wanted to go HAM. but it's supposed to be a "Christian" Salon.
