The owner took wonderful care of our doggy. I have a Jack Russell who would not do well in an environment with bigger dogs (our little buddy is afraid of big dogs, so he couldn't stay there) but since we live close by, she made the rare exception to come to our house to look after him for the three days we would be out of town. I did visit the boarding facility to determine if my dog would be a good fit, and while my dog was not secure around the bigger doggies, the dogs she had there were so happy and confident, I could tell that she took great care of her own dogs and the dogs in her care. She was wonderfully professional, trustworthy and our dog loved her, she was so very kind to him and looked after our kitties too. She is attentive to detail and caring. I didn't think twice about leaving my house key with her and giving her full access to my home and pets. She will be my go to pet sitter going forward if she is ok with it. read more

I took my baby to Happy Hounds earlier this summer. After getting over an initial fear of Sigrid's rhodesian ridgeback puppy, she seemed to have a great time running around. A few days later, Shimmer came home very tired and very happy. I loved the pictures that Sigrid printed for us of Shimmer playing with the other dogs and relaxing around the house. The one beef I have with Happy Hounds is that Shimmer came home with numerous flea bites on her. She is on Frontline and has never had flea problems except after her stay with Sigrid. I still gave four stars though, because it could have been a bad dose of Frontline or something along those lines. read more

Our Miss Mollie just turned 11 years old and we've never boarded her before. She had so much fun with Sigrid I didn't think she'd want to come home again! Sigrid watched her for an entire week and sent me regular updates about how Mollie was doing. Complete with photos! I could tell by her body language she was having a blast. Sigrid took Mollie out with her dogs every day. They walked, they went to the pond, they played. I think Mollie enjoyed having her sweet dogs to play with and have a little "pack" verses the kitty "pack" she has at home. Sigrid was very good at communicating with me and with flexibility in arranging the dates and times for drop off and pick up. She was courteous and kind. She let me come prior to scheduling to make sure my dog would feel comfortable around her dogs who are bigger. Mollie generally doesn't eat when we first go away (and family is watching her) but guess what?! She ate fine! Even the first day! Sigrid treats your dog like part of her family and lets them sleep inside. No cages here folks, they have lots of space to roam around and be dogs. I will definitely use Sigrid again when we travel. I can't say enough what a relief it is not to worry about our Mollie while we are gone. read more

Happy Hound in my opinion is the best way to board your dog. It's owner Sigrid is a dog lover and fitness expert. No only did my dog have ample space to run around in her huge yard, but also enjoyed swimming in the stream behind her house. He slept in the house with two other dogs that live at the house, got plenty of exercise with power walks twice a day. Sigrid always takes pictures while your dog is boarding with her and from the pictures she took of my chocolate lab, looks like he was having a blast swimming in the stream and playing with her two other dogs. Loved it. She is price competitive and so much better than those doggie hotels. read more

Sigrid of Happy Hounds walks my two Borzoi (Russian Wolfhounds) every Monday. They adore her and are always beyond thrilled to see her at the front gate. Given their "inner doggie clocks" they know when it's Monday and position themselves at the front of the house about 10 minutes prior to Sigrid's arrival at 1:30 to happily await their outing with her. They come home happy and well exercised dogs. She has also taken some amazing photographs of them. Happy Hounds has my vote! read more
