This was a suggestion from the lady at the hotel we were staying at, and honestly it was a let down. I ordered the chicken fried rice. Literally...it was just chicken and rice. There were no veggies, sprouts or anything. So bland and gross. My daughter got the sweet and sour chicken and they asked if we wanted white or dark meat....um...I'm damn near 40 years old and have never gotten this question asked to me at a Chinese restaurant. It took them 55min to deliver my food and I'm 3 min way according to my gps. I receive my food and it's soaked. My napkins are completely wet. I open my food to see white rice and not fried rice. I try the egg roll it's completely soggy. My chicken is cold and soggy as well. I called to complain they said their rice is always white. Even though they advertise FRIED rice. The lady says customers complain about veggies so that's why they don't put any inside their rice. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Who complains about veggies in fried rice. Lucky House has amazing Americanized Chinese food. It's CRAZY FAST! I once ordered my food, pulled out my phone to google something, and the food was out before google had my answer. I don't even have to actually order anymore when I go in. Pretty awesome. The large is LARGE. My friend and I always order sweet and sour chicken when we go, so we get the large and split it. It's definitely enough to feed two. (But the large only comes with 1 crab rangoon, so you'll need an extra order or a thunderdome death match to decide who gets the 1....) read more

This place has perfect General Chicken around from what I've tried. The chicken pieces are very crispy and the portions are very large for the money. The fried rice is a good compliment to the crispy chicken pieces and the sauce is perfectly spiced to a point where you get a nice tingle in your mouth when eating it. I haven't tried other meals from this place but the General Chicken is simply amazing. I can suggest to come here and eat that if you are searching for amazing General Chicken. I haven't had problems with the service or wrong orders but I always dine in there so that may be why. The restaurant itself could look nicer but it isn't dirty and things are functional and hygienic. Best Chinese in town! Used to come here all the time when I was in college years ago, came back as we were visiting family. I always get the orange chicken, but you MUST get white meat!!! It is imperative you get white meat for this meal! They make it in house, it isn't just pre packaged chicken. The small order is plenty of food for one person, the late can easily feed two people. The food comes out super fast and the staff is friendly. It is also very inexpensive. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants Chinese in town! Get the white meat!!!!! While the outside can be a bit detouring, be sure and give it a chance. I moved away from Rolla seven years and to Sprigfield, MO. There are a ton of Chinese restaurants in Springfield, but I have yet to find one with better crab rangoons. These are a staple to me when I go to a Chinese restaurant, if the rangoons aren't good, the food isn't good. You can never go wrong with Lucky House. We went here because of the 5 star rating and even though it was a hole in the wall type restaurant, we were hoping the food would more than make up for it. That wasn't the case. The hostess and the cook were eating in the kitchen. 'Fried rice' was rice fried with soy sauce. Chow mein combo was: chicken and beef stir fried with lots of onions and a few celery with deep fried wonton strips served on the side with NO noodles! I get rucky every time I go to Rolla. OMG! The portions are huge and everything always tastes great. I'm a sucker for good General and they have it. The outside may not look great and the inside is like an old RAX roast-beef place, but I grew up in north STL and know how awesome those hole-in-the-wall Chinese joints can be. Not the best Chinese restaurant nor is it the worst. It could be the best if they had more of a costumer friendly staff. About and hour and half later I call back and ask about my food and they said they said their driver had a flat tire and is waiting on triple A. I asked for a discount since it was so late. Check your receipt!! They added a $6.00 delivery fee without notice ($2-3 I can see, but this is rediculous)!! And the prices are higher than what is listed on online menu (facebook). When the woman took my order, she immediately requested my credit card info without even telling me the total. I had to ask for my total because she didn't offer it and I knew it sounded wrong, so I asked for an itemized receipt, which is not usually included. 'Rucky House is clutch for grabbing a freaky fast platter of orange chicken. They sell small and large portion sizes. I typically order the large as it is well worth the extra cost. I just moved here and thought I'd give lucky house a shot. The woman on the phone was rude "lucky house. what you want". I gave her my order and she read it back in part and sai Okay bye,not waiting for me to confirm it. After 45 minutes of waiting I called back. She said we just done your food bye. not even waiting for me to ask how much longer. Over and hour has passed since ordering. The delivery lady showed up with a tiny bag of food. I had ask to see what all it contained and upon open the first first box, a noxious odor came wafting up, so much so that I not only sent it back ( which after seeing that I could get more food from the mall I was skeptical), but I also told the lady who brought the food to hopefully find another job. My daughter loves this place, but said the food was awful this time. we ordered general tsao's chicken and the chicken was like they re-microwaved it. One piece I bit into was still cold and didn't taste right. The rice was like it was splashed with soy sauce. The crab ragoon was about the only thing that was worth eating. Like I said my daughter comes here alot because she is going to school down here, but I won't be going back there any time soon. When we went through the drive through the lady kept asking the name of the order. My wife kept saying number 3 but the lady said no, no the name. My daughter then said general tsao's chicken. The number 3 has general tsao's and orange chicken. Why didn't they just separate the order with different numbers. There is a sign at that has the menu on it, but you don't talk to anyone. You drive past that and then proceed to the window on the side of the building. There is not intercomm system at the sign. Kind of confusing, but glad that my daughter was with us.
