*******MUST READ TEXT CONVERSATION ATTACHED TO UNDERSTAND WHERE IM COMING FROM******* My family has been ordering from Lucky Hunan Garden for about 5 years now and have not had an issue until today. I placed an order at 3:30PM today and received at text message at 4PM from the woman at the phone who I also assume is the owner stating that it will take longer than expected. Okay, that's fine. Waited another 20 minutes and called back to tell her to cancel my order because I had to leave for work. When I asked her to cancel the order she immediately said "Okay I will cancel your order. Don't call here again." and hung up on me. I then called her to tell her that she was unprofessional and when she answered she hung up again before I could tell her that I wanted a refund. She then proceeded to text message me and tell me that I am not a nice customer along with some other words. I have attached the text conversation between me and the owner to this post because of HOW RUDE this woman was. I was waiting for food for MYSELF and MY YOUNGER SIBLINGS before I left for work. She told me I wasted her food, time, and money even tho I was the one who wasted my time and money and food that I was trying to feed my siblings. If you believe my reaction was uncalled for, then okay. Other restaurants would have been much more apologetic and would have understood a cancellation for a late delivery. read more

I usually do not eat Chinese food but decided to make an exception today and ordered delivery from Lucky Hunan Garden. The food was delivered promptly (within 30 minutes) and there were no issues with the order. We are trying to eat heathy and everything we ordered was either steamed or sautéed (soup, veggie dumplings, szechuan chicken and shrimp with rice). The food was very tasty and not "heavy", and the price was great, everything I just listed was about $25. We will definitely order from there again. read more

This food was the worst Chinese food I've ever had!!!! We spent $50 on the most greasiest, flavorless, uncooked, food that I've ever seen! My kids ended up throwing up, my husband and I spent the night in the bathroom. I cannot believe that this place is even allowed to stay opened!!!!! I am never one to rate a place with such a bad review but I could not let this go because it was that bad. The shrimp EGGROLL was so old that the cabbage was almost black and it smelled nasty. The general Tso's chicken was so so so so unbelievably greasy and the chicken was super rubbery. I had the seafood combination delight and it was just bland and super dry vegetable fried rice that looked so old, and with extremely greasy and old fried seafood. I've been wanting to try different Chinese food but this was just that bad! There are so many in the area and we thought we would give it a shot. Well, never again! I'm very disappointed and we spent $50 and the chicken with broccoli was horrible as well. The only positive thing to say was that the brocolli was pretty good although it was soggy and filled with sauce that you felt you were getting a heart attack with all that salt after you ate. I only got take-out from here (the name suggests that it's primarily a take-out place anyway) but it was well worth the money. The sheer quantity of food was massive. For $30, we had a TON of food. Just to warn you, there was a LOT of oil... typical of greasy American Chinese food places. The beef with tofu in black bean sauce was good - they used the textured older fried tofu, which compliments the beef and other veggies quite well. The chicken lo mein was also plentiful and not overly dry. The fried dumplings were ok - we couldn't get to them immediately, so they became pretty chewy after a few hours (our fault entirely). And the pork fried rice was decent. Basically, for $30, you can probably feed a group of hungry college kids. For us... we just had lots of left-overs. They do deliver to the Palisades medical center, which is excellent for those who are stuck there with no feasible food options. I would order from here again if I were ever in the mood for greasy Chinese food (you know you get that craving every now and then... don't even try to deny it)! read more

This place was fine, though it's not likely we'll return as it's heavy food as you may expect and it's not something we eat often. Here's the downside. We actually had a T-Mobile discount (via Dining Advantage), which is why we thought we'd try it. When we couldn't communicate well on the phone about the discount code, I figured I'd be able to just do it in person; then they said they couldn't accept it. They had a different name but same address so they said it wasn't them(?)...it wasn't a big deal. Hunan Garden Wok v. Lucky Hunan Garden - change in ownership maybe? Anyway, on to the rest. The experience with pick-up was fine. The family was nice and had great precautions with hand sanitizer out, plexiglass between the staff and customers and a pass-through for the receipt/card etc. We got the veggie steamed dumplings, chk fried rice, house lo mein, scallion pancakes, & wonton soup. Hubby loved the soup (good portion for a small and great taste, not too salty); fried rice was not too greasy, which was nice, but didn't have much chicken at all; lo mein was nice, a good mix of proteins and not too heavy, scallion pncks were pretty standard and a good size for the order, We got way more than 8 dumplings which I was stoked about and they were tasty and cooked perfectly. We definitely have leftovers as it was a lot of food. If you're looking for good portions, friendly service, good price, standard takeout, this is your place. I'd be curious to see what they're most "outstanding" dishes are, as the menu is huge. But overall decent, indulgent splurge (calorie/carb/fried food-wise). read more

Very unpleasant, orders ribs (barf) , beef pepper (barf), kunpo Chicken (that was ok) a lot of vegetables , where is the beef? Basically anything with beef in it was gross because the quality of the beef in not usda.. I really feel bad bashing but that was the first time and the very last time I ever order from this place. We spent 50 bucks and threw 85% of the food away. read more
