First, I agree with other comments on here about ordering here and having their kids take the orders here, I called in an order for pick up and i had to repeat the other a few times more than needed, plus they seemed very disinserted in taking my order for the most part, am like its either a slow day or there mentally checked for the day before closing. My order did take the time I was quoted so I will disagree with the other comments on that. Now my Shrimp with broccoli in garlic sauce, which I give them props for having with garlic sauce for an extra 50 cents, since many other places wont sub sauces, so good on them for allowing it. Shrimp was cooked plump and not overdone, but sadly it did not take on much of garlic sauce flavor, Broccoli was overdone and wilted, garlic sauce itself was savory, but no spicy zing I would find in the sauce I usually order anywhere. White rice was good, steamed great and fresh. Fantail jumbo shrimp was fried just right, only nix was it was way too much breading/batter, since when too much the batter/breading in this case was bit underdone towards the middle. Seafood fried rice was great, plenty bits of crab, and lobster and two large pieces of scallops, could have used a few pieces of shrimp though to have the full spectrum of seafood, but overall, the fried rice was the saving grace to the meal. next time have try some different items here and i think i will be lucky like in this places name, pun intended. read more

Lucky Inn is the best Chinese food in this area and I will die on that hill. Their delivery is usually fairly quick, their prices are very affordable, and everything is so flavorful. Like every Chinese takeout spot, sometimes it can get oily but that's just the nature of the industry. My family has ordered from them for over a decade and they consistently make amazing food at a great price. Seriously, $60 for five people to eat + appetizers + drinks? That's insanely cheap. Everything tastes fresh and the owners will go out of their way to make things better if something isn't right. Their scallion pancakes are tremendous- not too thick or thin, and comes with that good good sauce. The chicken and broccoli has never disappointed- seriously. Not once I have I gotten woody chicken here! My stepfather swears by their shrimp and black bean sauce. My mom loved their egg rolls. My brother in law's fried chicken always tastes great and who doesn't love their sesame chicken? They burn food - a lot...if its fried it will be burnt. Don't go by the time they give you - ordered food they said 20 minutes, I waited 30 and then drove there just to wait another 30 minutes - 1 hour and 10 minutes total for 20 minute food. Their kids that work there dont care - just keep that in mind. Finally I had this woman who is the owner call my cell last time and when I answered she just kept screaming "you no pay" over and over. I said what I got and the total and said check the receipts it was a chase card, she still kept screaming you no pay just on a loop over and over until she just says..."you no pay, you no pay, you no....oh I see now good bye" and hung up - I drove back and laid into her and got my money back and left the food...and this place is filthy....legit filth. read more

I've enjoyed small Chinese restaurants my entire life. From flushing to long island they're all acceptable with a few disappointing exceptions. I stopped into this spot recently and had the best ribs iv ever had, meaty flavorful and tender. The fried rice is smokey tasting and fresh out of a wok....also the best iv ever had. On the way back from vacation I stopped in again and once again it was the best quality iv had anywhere. Absolutely best chinese food north of Manhattan, and I'd say you'd be hard pressed to find a place in the city that comes close to this!!!! General Tso's chicken is great! Rice is ALWAYS cooked to perfection. White is a bit sticky (how it should be), brown rice is always cooked right, not over-cooked. The egg rolls are never too greasy. Broccoli in all the dishes is ALWAYS still crispy, not soggy and soft. I work in Manhattan, near chinatown, and I have YET to find a place that will beat out Lucky Inn, and that's something else! So if you live ANYWHERE NEAR this place, give them a call, place your order, and you might as well tell them to keep the CC on file, because I promise you'll be back! read more

The food is decent but the place is filthy. They have their two young sons taking orders and working the register and they don't know how to do it properly. The roast pork egg roll was excellent. Crispy outside and tasted like the fry oil was fresh. I got the General Tso's with white meat ($2-3 extra). The chicken was good and the sauce had some whole chili peppers. The broccoli that came with the General Tso's tasted like it was steamed or boiled in some gross water. Every Friday night my wife and I have ordered from them for OVER 6 years and never had an unpleasant experience. We averaged about $25 per order, which equates to $1300 a year and $7800 for the 6 years. I played with the two sons, doing magic tricks for them when I sometimes waited for my food. We had a good rapport and never any issues, until 3 weeks ago. We ordered chicken lo mein and when I got home I found that they gave us shrimp lo mein instead. Normally that would be an "upgrade" but my wife is allergic to seafood. So we called them about the mistake in the order. The husband showed up at my house about 5-8 minutes later with the original chicken lo mein that we ordered. However he asked for payment for the order, which I wasnt too happy about seeing as how THEY made the mistake. But to keep things civil we decided to pay but we had no cash, only credit cards so we agreed that the next time I ordered, they would charge me for the chicken lo mein, even though I thought they shouldn't have since it was THEIR mistake in the first place. Three minutes after the husband leaves, the wife calls my house demanding the original shrimp lo mein back because we didnt pay for the chicken lo mein that the husband just dropped off! I told her I would pay the "next time" and she said NO! She said she wanted payment right now or the shrimp lo mein back!! I told her to send her husband back because we weren't paying for THEIR mistake. Now WHY would she want the shrimp lo mein back??? I can only summize that she was going to give it to another customer, YUK!!! I know I wouldnt want food that was left in someone else's house! Either way, we decided to stop going there and after 6 years of ordering EVERY friday night and spending roughly $7800 there, they lost our business over an $8 dish. Maybrook NY is 'Lucky' to have the Lucky Inn here. This place is a guaranteed hit with Chinese food lovers. We have a relatively wide selection of fast food places in the area for those who live on easy and quick take out cuisine. Not really being fans of take out or fast food our trips to the Lucky Inn is a once a week lunch treat. The lucky Inn would have to be at the top choice in the category of Chinese food. Their selection is relatively equal to other similar area choices but that is where the similarities end. Their lunch and dinner specials are ample in portion size. There preparation is nicely done. Not to dry or overly greasy or seasoned as with so many other places in the area. Their pricing is also competitive if not on the slightly lest expensive side. Having grown up and worked in NY city for most of my life I am no stranger to Chinese restraints or Chinese take out places and I would rate the 'Lucky Inn' as among the best I have ever visited. read more
