Disgusting food. I'm sorry but I need to be honest here. The two older workers seemed to be owners were polite and friendly. The food was seriously bad. I would not return. The egg rolls on first sight were skinny and overly cooked almost seemed deep fried and then microwaved. I tried a single bite and it was a putrid chemical taste inside. I stopped eating then and threw all the food we ordered in the garbage. $10 for 5 egg rolls, soup that was a gelatin mess for $6 and chicken and broccoli for $16 with a weird looking cream sauce. Never again will I order from here. This place should close their doors asap. read more

Probably the worst food I ever had. Just finished getting home from ordering here. Fried rice was stale, tasted old and was rough to eat. Chicken and broccoli tasted old and had weird taste to it. Chicken mei fun smelled and tasted like cigarettes, not that I've eaten cigarettes but I used to smoke so I'm familiar with it. Didn't get to finish the food as I was promoted to puke it all out. I usually go to Green Garden (excellet food) my husband was in Montgomery and stopped at GOLD CHAIN CHINESE Restaurant, I bought Vegetable rolls, they should NOT look an like egg roll, but they did, but 1/3 of the size of an eggroll, I looked on line and GOLD CHAIN 's price was $1.20 per roll. I ordered 4 and they charged me $6.20, I also ordered shimp in lobster sauce, the SHRIMP was the size of quarters, where the shrimp at GREEN GARDEN are the size of half dollars, and GOLD CHAINs noodles were the WORST, pre-pack and were awful, GREEN Garden makes their own deep fried noodles, and are the best, never will I EVER GO BACK TO GOLD CHAIN again: GOLD CHAIN, the prices you show on the interent is not what you pay when you get to your restaurant, get your act together read more

Been going here for a while since I work in the area- they are going downhill at a rapid pace. 1st they advertise they give you less chicken because of a shortage but raised their prices....and today I walk in and get the same exact order I always get, hand the guy my card and he just stares at me and says "no card under 10$" - I said I did the same thing last week- his suggestion was to get a few soda's - so I said no time now have to get back to work and he tells me I have to pay for food - I said OK and handed him my card and he said no I need money - I wished him well and said I hope he enjoys my lunch. read more

finally tried to this place after a ShopRite run, love how close by it. the cashier behind the counter was very patient and did not rush me when ordering. so I ordered to go shrimp and broccoli combo with a egg roll and purchased a wonton soup small size. the food was made pretty quickly and under 10 minutes. so later on, I found the shrimp nice and plump, cooked perfectly, the broccoli was tender and they cut them bit different since am used to subby cuts not long cuts. wish I had bit more brown sauce on both the shrimp and broccoli. I found the pork fried rice was fresh and flavorful. the wonton soup, the wonton could have had more filling since it more dough anything, but the filling inside itself was good, the broth was standard. I found something I find elsewhere more pricy, but the trade off in my opinion is their favors are better for the price then cheaper places. will get more take out from them .:) read more

I'll be honest at first it looks like the food wouldn't be anything special, but as soon as I tasted it I was in love. I ordered the chicken and broccoli which was the best I ever had and I live in NY. The only downside was the portion for eating there was a little small, but the price is fair and the food is really amazing. My dad has the spare rib in the picture which was also delicious. I have been going to Gold Chain for years and I can definitely say it stands above all of the Chinese food I've had, especially in the area. My favorite dish is the Sweet and Sour Chicken with Chicken Fried Rice combo. Other places have failed to match the quality of the chicken/pork fried rice of Gold Chain. The service alone is great and the workers are very kind, I love to support this business. Favorite restaurant! read more

The restaurant itself smelled amazing but the food itself didn't live up to expectation. The rice had no flavor, the general tsao was brown with no flavor and the chicken wings were pink on the inside. To top it off, the food is overpriced! read more

I'm not sure why this place is getting such a bum rap! Everything I tried from here has been good and as expected. I go here at least once or twice a month. The people who own it are always polite and get me the food I ordered within 15 minutes. Maybe not the best Chinese food I ever ate but definitely far from the worst. Sent my husband for takeout since this was close to our Holiday Inn. Got an order of spring rolls (2), 1 vegetable egg roll, sml vegetable lo mein & sml egg drop soup. Spring roll wrappers seemed thicker or doughier than I'm used too instead of the crispy fried rice paper wrapper. Both types of rolls were stuffed with lots of shredded cabbage & not much else. I asked for the lo mein to be made spicy and I think that added a lot to the flavor. Egg drop soup was pretty good. I didn't get plastic ware or ANY type of sauce for my meal but I'll put half the blame on hubby for that. Id give the whole meal a "bland but not bad", "edible but nothing to write home about". read more

Best Chinese food in my area for sure! I almost gave up on Chinese food bc every time I've ordered it in the past year it was ALWAYS a disappointment! I decided to give Gold Chain a try with little faith but to my surprise it turned out to be the best Chinese food I've had all year! It's also an added bonus that they happen to sell Scallion Pancakes which is my absolute favorite and their sauce that comes with it is EXCELLENT! I did a doordash through this business and I paid for my food already. My doordash driver was over an hour away. Called Gold Chain to discuss the issue and the lady on the phone stated "Do not eat here again" and hung up the phone. We then go there to pick up our order that we once again paid for and they wouldn't let us pick up our food. They yelled and were very rude. If I could give a 0 rating I would. Will never do business here again. Do not do doordash through them or order. Very rude and unprofessional about the situation. UPDATE so after all this, the lady at Gold Chain still gave our doordash driver our food after we went there and argued with them about our payment. She did not inform the driver about our cancellation with them. We then had to have the driver contact doordash to resolve the whole issue. very terrible business. They have false advertisement stating they do doordash but the lady said she isn't affiliated with them. Also tried to charge us twice for the order. This business is a scam and terrible takeout place to eat from with the the way they treat their customers. read more
