I grew up in bowling alleys. My father was a part-time PBA bowler-so spending time, a lot of time in bowling alleys just kind of just came with the territory. Of course as a kid I disliked bowling alleys very much-I would spend Mondays-Wednesdays-Fridays and Sundays most weeks in bowling alleys growing up. So as an adult I made a point to spend as little time as possible in bowling alleys. But then kids came and it's such a natural fun activity for kids to do, so that pretty much drew me back to the sanctuary of my childhood. These days with the kids all grown up, I'd say I go to the bowling alley about 3x a year. When I do it's almost always Lucky Strike in Rocklin. I feel they are probably the best bowling facility in the entire Sacramento region. I like them for various reasons. I love that they have so many bowling specials-it seems these days everyone loves bowling or at least the idea of bowling but people really love doing it at a discount and they do that a lot at this bowling alley. I really enjoy their food and bar options at this bowling alley.They have a standalone bar in the middle of the bowling alley and also a standalone snack bar-so food/drink options are pretty solid. I know it's pretty standard these days but I like that they have bumper options for those who are maybe less skilled when it comes to bowling. This location also has a really big arcade for those who want to enjoy themselves in gaming rather than or as well as bowling .The bowling alley also offers various gaming specials as well for those who want to save a little coin while gaming. I also really like that this location has a really big sports bar that is furnished with multiple pool tables. The design of bowling alley basically took all the grungy cringey design flaws of bowling alleys in the 80s and 90s and just redid them in a nice classy fun way. This bowling alley is actually very nice and I really enjoy being there with my kids and my family-I highly recommend it. Came here in a Wednesday because the arcade is 1/2 price. There has been leagues there both times we've gone which makes it seem busy but the min they leave the place is empty. Customer service was good and the place was clean. It's pricey for sure. For 4 people to play two games with shoe rental was $70 and this was even with the discount you get for your 3rd game. The half price arcade is well worth it though we spent $30 and the 4 of us played many games. The only food we tried was the mozz nuggets and they were pricey for what you got. Strongly advise against booking your holiday party here -- and if you ignore this warning, whatever you do, avoid the "holiday menu" entirely. We reserved for a group of 15 for a lunchtime company holiday celebration. The restaurant assured us everything would be ready at 1pm so our guests could eat immediately upon arrival. By 1:30 pm most of the food finally appeared. The portions were shockingly small and the pricing outright insulting: Lobster mac & cheese ($255): barely a trace of lobster, bland flavor, and left several people worried about food safety. "Skewers" ($106 for 30 pieces): literally one tiny bite of meat per skewer. Vegetable side and sweet potato casserole: a soppy, soggy, and completely unappetizing -- a home cook would have been embarrassed to serve them. The grand finale, beef tenderloin ($555 for 30 pieces): I assumed 30 beef tenderloin steak pieces, was actually one slice of beef on a slice of baguette with a dab of sauce. That works out to over $18 per bite. Even the manager said he wouldn't pay for. After spending well over $1,500 on food alone, our entire group left hungry and disappointed. Several guests went out for a second lunch immediately afterward. Service was apologetic but powerless to fix the core issues. Management offered no meaningful discount or remedy. This was, without question, the most overpriced and underwhelming catering experience any of us have ever had. Save your money and your taste buds -- celebrate literally anywhere else. read more

Wow. Where do I start. Lucky Strike is horrible. $90 arcade ticket.. machine ate my money.. had to go to the booth. The kid was nice enough to give us new cards. 2 of the 3 cards didn't work. Had to go back. 12.85 for 2 sodas is crazy. It was $12.85 for 2 beers also. Then the bowling. Although the bowling alley was nearly empty, they said they have any lanes reserved. We waited 40 minutes for a lane. About an hour and a half in and the bowling alley is just as empty as when we arrived. The first lane we were put on didn't work. They were having a malfunction. The 2nd lane worked but the bumpers were stuck about 25% open and when the kids hit the bumpers the balls would launch all over the place. The machine froze multiple times: Overall after spending over $200 on a family outing, we will never be back. This place was ok as Strikes.. Lucky Strike will never get our business again read more

My first bowling experience since 2014. My sister brings her grand kids here every month. She lured me and Barbara S. (the fellow Yelp Elite spouse) for a couple of games. Saturday afternoon. Not busy, not crowded. BIG facility. Spacious. Loud in a fun way. We get our rental shoes and pre-pay. Bowling technology has advanced since my previous experience elsewhere 11 years ago. Lots more big screens flashing hyperactive images in every direction. The bowling game set-up and scoring tech is also more advanced. Visually stimulating but pretty intuitive to operate. I'm a klutzy guy. Not a talented sportsman. I'm a golfer. Not a particularly good one. Golf doesn't take much talent to play sort'a poorly. So this bowling experience quickly showed that I basically suck at it. I scored around 100 both games. Though by the final 2 frames of the 2nd game I was starting to feel the right rhythm, pace and arm mechanics to get the ball to stay in the center of the lane. Though I still looked like a clumsy dork doing it. For $22 it was a bunch of fun. And I think with practice I can get way better at it. I plan to add bowling to my weekly calendar. read more

We love to bowl so that is always our go to family activity. When we first arrived we were greeted by a really nice lady and younger man. There were 5 of us in our party and we had a reservation. We had to wait for a little while, and we were completely fine with that. There were some leagues going on and it was fun to watch them. It was pretty busy, but not overly crowded. After about a 10 minute wait our lane was ready. We were told that they didn't have any regular lanes available, but there was a private room that had a couple of lanes in it and they were putting us there if that was OK. We were totally OK with it! We got everything set up, and picked out our balls. A waitress came in and took our drink orders and everything was great! We were in our second frame when an employee came in and rudely asked us why we were bowling there and who had put us on that lane. We explained what had happened earlier and she said that was wrong and we weren't allowed to be in there because there was a birthday party booked. We went to the front desk to clear everything up and we were told we had to move to another lane, but we had to wait for one again. When we went back to get our stuff the other party had arrived and was giving us nasty looks like WE had squatted on that lane without permission. It was pretty humiliating especially because we did nothing wrong. When we finally got a new lane we asked to have our game/time restarted and even though they said yes, it never happened. The drinks we had originally ordered finally made their way to us about 30 minutes into our new game due to a lot of confusion over our new location. We ended up ordering a pizza and the signature sampler. Neither were anything special and basically just filled our bellies. Honestly we tried to shake it, but everything that happened just kinda put a damper on the rest of the night. I think it was the fact that when we went to the front we got a half-assed oh sorry 'bout that, and nobody seemed to really care. I had a fun time here. My husband and I went on a whim one night because we just wanted something to do. It's relatively cheap to play each game and rent the shoes as well. We had fun playing. It was difficult to find balls to use but we did end up finding a few. A pin also got stuck on the lane but that was quickly resolved. I really didn't have an expectation walking in. I mean it's bowling. Most bowling establishments are run down and dingy. Lucky Strike is straight out of a movie. Great place for kids. Super friendly staff and very clean. I appreciated the manager coming out to greet us and even gave my son a gift card for the arcade because it was his birthday. 10/10 recommend for kids, teens, adults, and even the grands. The employees were very helpful, the place is clean, and I believe it was the manager or owner that came over while we were bowling around 3pm and was checking to see how our first experience was. Rating this for this specific visit. We got to experience Lucky Strike one time, we like that there was a promo online when we went to. Probably because of holiday time. Not so sure if they frequently do. We waited about an hour (so, we went to arcade) just to do their promo period, but that was a great experience. We booked our daughter's 15th birthday party at Lucky strikes and it was honestly such a good time! We originally had planned to just book a lane and have all our friends meet there. But then I realized booking it as an actual party was even a better and cheaper! The party included one lane-2 hours- for six people. Shoe rental, a cheese pizza, chicken strips, fries and all the dipping sauces ( the ranch was bomb) and even dessert which is funnel fries which were SO good. All the food was incredible!! it also included three pitchers of drinks of our choice. All Pepsi sodas products, lemonade and fruit punch- plus a water. AND arcade game cards with 500 prize redemption points +40 points of for arcade play! They have a great arcade and really great prize shop too! There was a party host and a server. Both were great and checked in on us constantly offering to order more food if needed. If we needed anything else. Constantly clearing and cleaning up things no longer needed. I was honestly blown away! The service was amazing. The food was incredible. They decorated the lanes so cute. They even gave us a bowling pin and a sharpie so all of our party guests could sign it for the birthday girl as it keepsake! The food set up was nice. Incredible value for what we paid. Came here to bowl but there was a 4 hour wait. So we stopped to get a drink at the bar. Got a margarita and it had no alcohol taste. It only tasted like the mixer. Ask the bartender and all she can say I can charge you to add a shot. I paid for the drink and left the drink practically full. Bad customer service. Buyer beware - if you plan to try to book a lane online, just don't. I made a reservation through their website, in advance, for a Friday night lane rental for 2 hrs. I had an emergency come up the day of, and we were unable to make it. I called to cancel, and was told there was no manager on site and that they'd forward me to the sales department. Of course they were closed (turns out this was their corporate office on the east coast) and so I called back was told if I didn't hear back from a manager over the weekend to expect a call Monday from corporate. I decided to call back the next day, assuming there'd be a manager onsite on a Saturday. I get transferred to a manager, who tells me that since I booked online it's considered a "special event" and has to go through their "special events sales team at corporate." Mind you - this is a one lane rental for 2 hrs, not a private group rental or birthday party. I'm told by the manager that I might not be able to even get my money back, that I'd probably need to reschedule to another date because it's "up to them whether they want to give my money back." He tried to tell me that sometimes in the terms and conditions it says it's non refundable. I reviewed all of their terms and conditions and NO WHERE does it say it's non refundable. Not on the website, not on the specific booking, not in their polices - no where. Monday rolls around, and I get an email confirmation from their special events team at the corporate office that they received my request and someone would be in touch shortly. No one bothered to reach out to me and I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company because lucky strike refused to refund a fully refundable booking. If you choose to bowl here, make your reservation in person so you don't have to end up in a month long transaction dispute with a shady and unprofessional business if you have an emergency. Better yet, just find a better bowling alley that isn't trying to scam their customers. It's insane to be charging $120+ to bowl for two hours and then have that type of business practices. read more

The arcade prizes are phenomenal. The workers are extremely nice and helped my brother find his missing wallet (you folk know who i am) were hoping to go tomorrow night. The claw machines are a bit tricky but you'll never leave empty handed. Food there is great aswell, loved the cotton candy lemonade. Extremly kid friendly and beginner friendly for claw machines. Bowling was a blast and i always leave with a smile and a happy wallet. Good prices for the amount of fun you can have. Ive won like 8 things so far. Also dope vibe. Peyton was our server. She wasn't friendly starting from the beginning. My friends and I have worked in the service industry for many years and never complain like this because we understand how frustrating it can be. That being said, her tone wasn't friendly at all. We finished an entire round of bowling before even ordering since she never came back. She dropped things off to us without saying you're welcome in response to a thank you. Lastly, she over charged us for something and the bartender even confirmed it. When it was time to pay, she came back over and stood there silently, waiting until we signed the receipt even though we were mid conversation and it wasn't even in my hand yet! Again, we would understand if she just asked do you mind if you signed that I need to leave or get off the clock etc. since we understand, but she was so rude the entire time! We were still hanging out after (considering the bowling alley didn't close for over 2 more hours) and she came and asked if she could take our plates instead of asking if we needed boxes when there was still obviously more food on the plates so we said no. She walked away irritated and we had to ask the bar for boxes. We went down with a group of friends on a Tuesday night while they were hosting a league night. Manager Z was very gracious and was able to get us on to a couple open lanes and we had a great time. The food was hot, the drinks were cold and the staff was very friendly. I love how clean and organized the place is.
