Came into the Blue Parrot Lounge on a Friday night for the first time. I ordered the Wagyu Sliders and Goat Cheese with Crackers, as well as a glass of Prosecco and Chardonnay. The vibes here are really neat, with an old Hollywood atmosphere and music. It's a small restaurant so would certainly recommend booking a reservation! The service was just okay though, with it taking 30 minutes for our appetizers to come out after ordering them. The food and drinks are also on the more expensive side, so I'm not sure if I will be coming back in the future. read more

Keep in mind this is a wine bar, they do have a few cocktails they offer but their main focus is their wine, and their food, which do both very well. Crab and shrimp cocktail was fresh and had all these great flavors that mixed so well together. From the chipotle sauce on the crab to the capers in the cocktail sauce it was amazing. For our entree I had the pork chop, it was cooked to perfection a nice seared crust on the outside and juicy on the inside. Not dry at all like you get with a lot of pork chops. It was a good size for what you paid for as well 10/10 My husband got the New York strip he loved it. Great flavor and cooked perfectly. 9/10 For dessert, we ordered both the chocolate cake and the strawberry champagne cake both were exceptional not overly sweet, not super heavy, the right balance you want in a cake. Hidden gem! This cozy yet upscale lounge is the right place for a classy date night. I found this location through IG. Making a reservation helps and you can add table preference. There's no outside sitting. The velvet chairs and couch give it a speakeasy vibe. The music is Frank Sinatra genre and the drinks are very good. The place is pricey, drinks raging from $16-$22, small bites $$17-$26. My favorite has been their charcuterie. Their wine flight are half way glasses filled with different wines. The service is great, they are very nice, accommodating and constantly check on you. After a fantastic first experience we recently returned to The Blue Parrot Lounge. Another couple joined us, and we shared small plates and meals. Everyone agreed that the atmosphere, food, service, and drinks were exceptional. You can drive right by this establishment and not notice it. It is a small, hole-in-the-wall with a narrow, unpretentious entrance. The inside has a 1930s, speakeasy look and feel with low volume classic jazz playing in the background. The seating is pretty comfortable (plus there is a bar) and the waitstaff is very attentive. The owner checked-in with us both times we have been there to make certain they were meeting our expectations. Happy Hour is from 4-6 with $2.00 off on appetizers and wine. My companions ordered flights of wine, but I stuck with the Trefethen Dragon's Tooth; always pleasing to me. Our meal was diverse including a large Bacon Wrapped Scallop with Shrimp that came with cucumber, lettuce, radish, lemon wedge and chipotle aioli. The Italian Meatballs included rigatti, mozzarella, marinara, fresh basil and crostini. We also devoured the Deviled Eggs with bacon, caper, fresh dill, and onion crisps. The Charcuterie Board was huge - a tempting assortment of cheeses including brie and blue and an Italian hard white. There were various salamis and prosciutto, crostini, and crackers with a dollop of honey. The fruit was fresh / tasty and beautifully presented: strawberries, blackberries, grapes, and apples. On our first visit our dinner included Escargot with Smoked Salmon, Capers & Cucumber. This was served with a variety of crackers and crisps. The BPL has been on my list of restaurants for a while now. Finally made it this evening and was not disappointed. The owner, Suzanne, was welcoming and friendly. Our server, Helene, was attentive and pleasant. We enjoyed three items from the appetizer menu; Waygu Sliders, Deviled Eggs, and Meatballs. All were delicious. This place is a hidden treasure! It's hidden in a shopping complex in Roseville. Very small and intimate little lounge. Covered is Sinatra pictures with red velvet booths, dark lighting and really cool lamps. Love the Sinatra they have playing. They have a few dinner items and a lovely cocktail/drink list. We came for drinks but I would love to try dinner here. Although my friend had to wait 20 minutes for her wine (and then it was the wrong wine to boot) the waitress was very apologetic and comped both glasses. Why didn't anyone tell me about this place? I randomly glanced out the window as my Husband drove away from Scandinavian Designs ( months ago) and thought : oohhhhh, a dive bar. I'll look that up. Swanky tunes ( Sinatra, Fitzgerald, Bennett, Holiday), lush velvet decor, mirrored back bar, friendly staff and delicious food!!! Our home is currently decorated similar: leopard print bar, dim lights, velvet furniture, etc.....so it truly spoke to me. It's a tiny place and our resys (unfortunately ) were early so the bright light from the outside was a bummer. I was dying to pull the curtains and make it feel more "speakeasy". You'd never know you were in Roseville in a semi-crappy strip mall near a car wash. Their booze license is only beer/wine and also included a wine-based daiquiri ( that was delish) but the wine list was "fine". Nothing crazy.....best red by the glass was a Dragon's Tooth but the bubbles tasting came in a fantastic holder. My grilled shrimp/bacon wrapped scallop was decadent and not too much food. We saw a lot of meals come out but just opted for apps. The website was hard to navigate and I couldn't find the menu anywhere online and reviews had outdated stuff. Our waiter said she changes the menu often, hence no posting....but maybe put that online??? When I posted pics on FB and told friends about it, many said "I cant find the menu". Know you can't go with a big group or without resys or if you're hoping for a $6 snack.....but so damn nice to find a new place ( to me anyway) that has charm and great food and a fun atmosphere and nice peeps. This place requires purchase of (expensive) food with any drinks, which is completely absurd for a lounge that markets itself as a speakeasy. This is a great spot. Elegant, yet casual, just off the beaten path so it's not gonna be too crowded. Rhona and I were looking for a nice place for a glass of good wine and a snack. We avoid chains when we can, and wanted a place that felt 'warm' on the cold rainy evening, not like the brew pubs that are stone hard contemporary cold. The Blue Parrot came up on my radar and sounded interesting. Yup - it's close to the Galleria and Costco - two of the busiest places on earth, yet nobody knows its here cause its on the south side of Stanford Ranch Rd, in an an assuming strip center that, frankly nobody would think to open a classy joint in. Well, we were lucky enough to find it. The very narrow lounge reminds you of the skinny eating spots in the City, about 15 feet wide. But its enough for a very nice bar, numerous tall and short tables and comfy seating. Deep blue walls, hanging bar pendant lights, stars all around and all the 60's pictures of your favorite stars (ok, dating myself here). We shared a wine flight of 3 very good reds and the owner/manager offered to pop open a bottle of a new cab that just arrived. To take care of our snack, we ordered bacon-shrimp mac n cheese - VERY GOOD, one of the best I've had! And why not, since we're having reds, we added in a ribeye steak au poivre (pepper steak) with asparagus and mashed potatoes - like I said, we wanted a little snack. The kitchen handled the steak as good as anyone, the mac n cheese was epic, and overall a great meal with fine wines in a comfortable warm environment.
