What an awesome local market! I'm glad my husband and I checked out this place before moving, but sad we didn't go sooner! They have great deals on produce (today we found $.88 pineapples & $1/5 kiwis and more!) and a pretty wide selection of other groceries as well. It's a small store, but wasn't crowded when we went, and the parking was a breeze (especially compared to the Whole Foods nightmare parking lot). We got tons of fruits & veggies for cheap, and can't wait to go back and stock up again! Check it out if you like to eat lots of veggies & fruit. Love the Meat Dept. Mike P is the best and you always get cheerful help. Now the ugly; The Deli. Never see the same employees twice. Turnover must be astronomical. Employees seem to hate their jobs. Yesterday 3 different employees looked at me while I waited. None offered to help. I used to think their house oven roasted turkey was the best and at $14.99/lb it should be. It has changed. The last few times it has been so dry as to be crumbly. Won't be sampling the Deli any longer and I have bee a regular since they opened. read more

I recently moved to Longmont and started shopping at Lucky's. There are some really nice employees who work here that I enjoyed chatting with during checkout. However today I returned a few bad produce items with my receipt (after previously throwing more in the trash without returning) and a blonde woman who I guess to be the manager had such a miserable attitude and was passive aggressive toward me. I didn't engage and just smiled. Maybe I should have reported her to the manager, but I think she was one. read more

I love Lucky's! It's a great neighborhood market. I come into the store almost every day to get some item I am missing for dinner. I love that they have their own farm and supply produce from it when it's available. They offer some products that are hard to find at other grocery stores like buffalo steaks, Plain Skinny Crisps and Rudi's Spelt Tortillas. I know that they are offering high quality items from sources that I trust. The employees are also very nice and pleasant. I can't do all my grocery shopping there, but I definitely do shop there a lot. read more

This place reminded me of the great but compact grocery stores in Oregon. The staff was beyond helpful and friendly. Great options - very SLOW FOOD oriented and high quality - yet still not on the scale of Whole Foods prices. For the size of Whole Foods - it truly boggles my mind that their prices are still so much higher than many good food markets. I like the size of this Market. They have very nice produce, well priced and ripe and ready to eat, but not too ripe. The store seems clean and well laid out, and the employees are available and will ing to help you. I stopped by with a fried,, and ended up buying produce, beofre a night on the town. This is a good local market and I like giving my business to a local company. The prices and selection are good for small local market. The market features a lot of organic and healthy food choices but it's not Wholfe Foods. As some reviewers noted, some of the staff aren't very knowledgeable about their products. Sometimes the fruit is hit or miss... sometimes a stellar deal on ripe organic avocados and sometimes dry oranges at standard prices. read more

I was so excited for a new grocery option in South Boulder and then I actually bought groceries there: 1- Strawberry selection was bad and the best package I could find had a big moldy strawberry hidden in the middle (that could happen, right?) 2- I've never tasted spoiled watermelon before, until I got this one home and cut into it the next day - gross! 3- Opened up the package of tube yogurt I got for my 6 year old only to find that it was all expired... almost three months ago...really?! There was no expiration date on the outside so I bought it thinking "surely they wouldn't have expired yogurt for kids on the shelf within the first month of opening this new store!" I was wrong. It'll take a lot to get me back into this store - it was a huge waste of time and money because now I have to go elsewhere for strawberries, watermelon and yogurt that I bought yesterday. This was my 3rd visit to Lucky's. I went to get the ad specials. Out of 9 items on my list, they were out of 3. Come back another day they said. Like I have time to keep coming back. Then 2 out of the 3 times they have overcharged me big time. It was good that I looked over the receipt. But it took me 15 extra minutes appx. both times to get the credit back on my card. I don't think I will be back. Read your receipts. The things on sale are not and the bulk food codes are wrong. The total overcharges are now close to $25. read more

We bought a cooked turkey and all the trimmings for last Thanksgiving (2017) from Lucky's catering at the market in East Louisville, KY. What a disaster. The turkey still had ice in the chest cavity because it had not been thoroughly thawed prior to them cooking it and the bird was not completely cooked. The green beans were the worst I ever had,shriveled and dry. The gravy was thick like molasses and had no taste to it. I would never recommend Lucky's prepared holiday meals for anyone. I returned their e-mail request asking how we enjoyed the meal and I gave them the same response as this review. They did not return my e-mail and they did not offer an apology. I'm sure my response was not the only one that was negative. read more

i'm very sad that i no longer feel good about shopping at lucky's in boulder. in spite of their smaller selection and higher prices i have shopped here exclusively since moving to boulder in july 2011 because i love the idea of supporting my neighborhood grocery store and the employees who are great! the short guy in the deli that always waits on me, the dairy guy, the butcher and my two favorite cashiers ever...they all feel like familiar friends. i shop almost daily for fresh food so was in the store 4-6x a week (my personal financial records show i spent about 15k in there the past year or so) and i considered myself a regular and loyal customer. i've carried my lucky's shopping bag proudly and referred many folks to the store for their gluten free line, i consider myself a great customer on all levels. what a blow when i found out just two days ago that my loyalty to lucky's is a big one way street, they don't want my business! my debit card had to be cancelled and another reissued due to a deep scratch in the magnetic strip on the card back. while i'm waiting about a week for my bank back home (father in law on the bank board, service too good to switch) to get that to me i still need to eat so i asked lucky's to take my personal check for $32.55 worth of groceries AND THEY REFUSED! the manager questioned me with arms crossed and a suspicious scowl... like i was trying to rip them off or something,. the staff there know me, i have three forms of photo ID and i've spent over $15,000 there this past year...then when in a bind for food they won't take my check for $32.55 just this once??? that's right. the answer was an emphatic NO this is a neighborhood store all right, but there's no heart connection with or appreciation for the neighbors responsible for their success. sure i can find other places to buy food (hello alfalfa's!) but the relationships i've spent this past year building are gone, i feel a strong sense of loss. i used to think of lucky's as MY neighborhood market. today i shop across town in someone else's neighborhood and lucky's is just one more store that sells food. most sincerely, karen k read more

We love Luckys market, but I have to warn people about a problem that I have discovered there recently. Twice, I bought fish from the fish department, and the price they charged me was higher than the price posted on the sign. Once, it was two dollars higher, and another time it was five dollars higher per pound. The first time, when I pointed this out to the employee, he gave me a hard time, and the second time, he was very polite about it. But it got me rather suspicious. If you do shop there, be sure that you receive the price you expect on fish and meat items. read more

kinda in the middle o' nowhere but not bad for being in the middle o' nowhere. this Lucky's anchors a tiny little strip mall flanking Broadway aways a bit from a more populous part of town. prices are ok for organic food but the general ambiance never really enchanted me. read more

I finally went to the Lucky's at Broadway and Table Mesa, and I found it very Unlucky. I bought a bunch of fruits, veggies, and fish. Turned out nothing was fresh. The salmon reeked of old age when I got home to use it. Even the "fresh made" sushi was made with old fish that I had to throw the whole thing out. ALL of the peaches, nectarines, cherries, and bananas became over ripe within a day. The peaches shriveled. The bag of romaine lettuce had brown spots throughout the interior. It was a terrible experience. The store won't last long as the word gets out as it couldn't have been an isolated experience. read more

The prepared food at the deli has real flavor, wonderfully seasoned. It is so much better than the deli food at Whole Foods. I love to serve it to guests. It always gets rave reviews. The pasta salads are always a hit. As is the grilled shrimp. The place is addictive. The only slight problem is that you really do have to watch the prices at the cash register. More often than not, there's an over-charge. But otherwise, it's a great place.. read more

However, four times in a row seems indicative of a bigger problem. I wonder how many unsuspected customers have over-payed and not noticed. Found out about local market while looking once more for availability of Hatch green chiles in the Orlando area. Although the current closest market to us is 22 miles, the lure of fresh Hatch chiles they said they had was too great so we hit the local expressway for east Orlando. We live on SW side of metropolitan area. After a relatively noneventful drive across town, we found Lucky's. We were impressed with the layout and cleanliness of the market and the green chiles we sought were directly in front of us when we entered the market. For chile lovers who have paid mucho $$ to have fresh Hatch green chiles shipped to us over the years and who have crammed our suitcases full of frozen packages whenever visiting New Mexico, we were ecstatic. Our joy was even better when the young man we grabbed hold of trotted into the back to see if they had a full box in the cooler and returned with the last one. The chiles were in excellent condition and have now been roasted and packed away for future enjoyment. Only Hatch chile lovers can appreciate having fresh roasted chiles on hand or in the freezer for the next recipe. Thanks again Lucky's and we will shop again soon while anxiously waiting for a new location closer to our home to open. read more

I had the pleasure of visiting Lucky's Market the other day for the first time. My son's school had some Lucky's Gift Cards at a recent raffle that my wife and I purchased about a month ago. We finally made the trip from South Boulder up to Lucky's and we were shocked that we had never been there before! Lucky's sales flyer was littered with fantastic organic items that I am used to purchasing at other grocery stores. In fact, the entire front page of produce was all organic!! Lucky's may be small in respect to other grocery stores, but that made my shopping experience even more enjoyable. The employees working in the aisles were all very helpful and greeted my wife and I with genuine smiles. That's something I don't encounter very often at other grocery stores. When our shopping was done, I was shocked to see at the check stands a sign that stated Lucky's had their own organic farm only miles away from the store. How cool is that! Unfortunately it is still pretty early in the growing season so the selection of their farm's organic veggies was a bit slim. Oh well, even more reason to make the trip up to Lucky's in the coming weeks! read more
