The people are amazing, and it's a nice store. They have what they have, so you have to find things you like there. There's not much that's low-sodium, for example, like you'd find in a larger grocery store. I was going there for the frozen veggies, which makes life easy with busy kid- schedules. Not always time to pick up fresh produce on the way home. TJs frozen veggies were reliably better than anywhere else. They had really sweet peas, as sweet as sweet corn, that burst in your mouth. Lately, the peas are so dry and tough-skinned they're inedible. The broccoli florets are woody. There have been times over the years they were out of certain frozen veggies, and that seemed disappointing, but it was better then buying a bunch and thinking I had them to feed the kids, but then finding all we had was inedible. The broccoli has been woody for a couple months at least. We stopped buying that, and stocked up on the peas, but now they're gross. Since I went for the frozen veggies (and would just pick up anything else that worked for us there), we don't really have any reason to go unless they get that straightened out. Trader Joe's is my nut specialty store. My husband eats them daily as a source of plant protein and vitamins, especially on camping trips. Far better for him than prepackaged trail mixes. He has done this for decades and has strong taste presences. Trader Joe's is a wonderful resource especially for CA grown nuts. I am not much of a fan of the store's other products as I learned during some living time in CA when this company was dominant in the town we lived. Prepackaged veggies and fruits don't suit me, nor does processed frozen items. But they sure are the king of nuts. They have many forms of each where appropriate. Roasted or not, salted or not. Today we bought dry roasted and salted almonds, CA premium walnut halved and organic dry roasted and salted cashews. Sadly we forgot to check if their CA Thompson seedless raisins ( sun dried) were back in stock. You won't find better anywhere. For general groceries , my favorite store is just around the corner and my favorites for brand name product is in South Boulder. What these 3 stores have in common is quality products in the categories I use them for, exceptional staff and store cleanliness. We'll go back soon for the raisins. read more

Goodness it's filled with goodies, but with people too! The parking is so small lots...I think that goes for most of Boulder, maybe just to offer more spots. The welcome desk people were especially helpful and kind to us. It's loud, from all the people. I tried to buy a tote for my daughter and they sold out yesterday. They get notice, about a month before delivery and unfortunately, they have no idea when the next shipment will be. I was able to but my fave spaghetti sauce. read more

We dont do 'full' grocery shopping here... we get a few things we love like the sourdough bread, shave cream, and a few other things. Some of the stuff is really high priced compared to other normal stores. And they really dont try to reduce packaging... the veggies and such all come in plastic bags, so a lot of it has packaging that the regular stores do not have... come on people 'reduce!' read more

I feel like relatively every Trader Joe's has friendly staff but this one was fantastic on a Saturday I felt warmness and kindness from the staff and I know that saturdays are quite busy! So I appreciate that level of service! The cashier was quite kind to my 7 year old and of course lollipops and stickers are always a winner in a kids book. Very spacious and very convenient. The store is big and very easy to navigate. The staff is friendly and helpful however I felt that they weren't very well stocked. There were items that I couldn't find or the shelves were empty. Might have something to do with it being the long weekend and students coming back to schools. I love Trader Joe's, lm fed up with Whole Foods pricing. The Boulder TJ's has the friendliest people working there, especially the checkers. Granted there are times of day and days of the week l try to stay away, it can be chaotic. I have some observations/suggestions. The egg white breakfast burritos are Very Bland, in fact almost tasteless. The chicken sausage breakfast burritos (the chicken) is gross, tastes like nothing that resembles sausage. My favorite juice drink, Tangerine juice is half the price that Whole Paycheck charges. One of the best entrees that I've ever had is your Roasted Rosemary Boneless Chicken Breast. Do you remember the first time you ate a really good burger and you thought you knew what a good burger was until you ate that burger? And then after you ate that burger, you thought to yourself "how did I ever think that the great burgers I had before we're good burgers? Is this what food tastes like?" That's how I feel about this Trader Joe's. I don't know how I ever thought that the Trader Joe's that I have ever been to, even the ones in California were so great. Don't give me wrong, Trader Joe's is amazing and I stan. But I never thought I could go to a Trader Joe's during peak hours and just have so much space to navigate in and have everything that I wanted in stock and not have to fight people to get it, and did I mention the space. There is a lot. This location had items that other locations that I had been to the day before I did not (mini seltzer bottles! the entire Brazil nut body line (scrub, body wash, body butter), did you know they had an entire line? Cons- The meats are questionable and some of the cute plants for sale die the moment you bring them home. Lemon cypress baby tree was lush, bright green, and soft at the store. I've been in a few Trader Joe's before. This was my daughter's choice for an initial stock-up on groceries. They required masks and limited the number of customers, though it was still fairly full. Selection seemed okay, though I wasn't that familiar with a lot of their offerings. It appeared that you could find something approximating what you needed in most / all categories, at a reasonable price. They had plenty of staff available to assist, in case of questions. Check out was fairly quick, in spite of the crowd. There is no TJ's handy to my home, but if there were I could see stopping by. This place seemed good. read more

This is a nice Trader Joe's. Employees are pretty friendly usually. Have had a few careless mistakes at the register which is inevitable in rare situations with humans doing the job. For instance was rung up for 80 bananas instead of 8 and it was annoying to have to go back for a refund. Parking is easier at this location than many other Trader Joe's in my experience, at all hours of the day. It's across the street from REI and right by McDonalds and Target. It has a nice view of Flatirons sometimes too. read more

While I never seem to be able to pick up everything on my shopping list at TJ's, it still saves me a ton of $$$ to buy most of it here. Pork belly, shoshito peppers, bagged young arugula, mini avocados, bacon jerky, cold brew coffee, cauliflower fried rice, everything but the bagel seasoning and cookie butter cookies are a few of our must buys every trip. I love Trader Jose's and this is a great location. The employees are always helpful and cheery! I love to buy produce from here, and they have the perfect snacks for my adventures with the kids. When I first moved to Colorado from Louisville, KY there were no Trader Joe's stores in the state - a lamentable state of affairs. As such, I was pretty excited when I learned that stores were planned for both the Denver & Boulder areas. I have not been disappointed. This location is conveniently placed in an area that houses many other useful businesses and the store itself carries all of my Joe's favorites. Trader Joe's has never been a store that I use to purchase entire loads of groceries, but it does have key favorites that cannot be found elsewhere. There is also a great, affordable frozen food section that is particularly good for lunches when I don't have time to cook. The produce section is also nice, though I feel that the packaging tends to be excessive. I do not feel that Joe's is the best place to get meat as that section is pretty small. This is definitely a store that has a place in my grocery shopping trips. If you haven't been yet, it's worth a try. read more

There was quite the line for the Grand Opening this morning. TJ's staff circulated frequently with lollipops, smiles, & words of welcome. A steel drum band played near the entrance and each shopper received a lei while entering the store. Though the store was very crowded I was able to locate some of my favorite items (tiki masala burgers, mango chutney, & pesto pizza). The staff were circulating and very approachable, often helping more than one customer at a time. The parking lot is not very large and that is why I've granted 4 rather than 5 stars. I'm so happy this store has finally made it to Boulder! I look forward to visiting frequently. read more

I really like most of the products, and some of the people. But there are a handful of folks who work there who are just plain unpleasant to deal with making it less than an enjoyable experience on most days. One guy in particular seems to be walking around with a chip on his shoulder, and acts like you're really inconveniencing him if you have a question. This location is pretty good. The staff is always really friendly and helpful, The store is always clean and the shelves fully stocked. Although I do like the store, I hate coming here because there is no parking. they have an extremely small parking lot for its location and how many people visit here. Most of the time we end up parking extremely far away and walk, which isn't an issue unless it's pouring rain or freezing cold lol Also, they don't have a very big selection, almost every time I ask if they have a certain item they say no. I guess I just wish the store was bigger and the parking lot was bigger and yes, I get that they can't really help that due to the location, it's just frustrating. read more

We come in here occasionally to get special Trader Joe snacks; we don't use it as a regular grocery store. I especially like their Irish Breakfast tea bags. Parking is usually tight, but you can park in the big lots across 29th Street. Today I went in for some pumpkin goodies, but it is late in the season and they had already sold out of most of them. Two very helpful stockers helped me find things and verified that some of the things I wanted were gone. I ended up with my tea bags, some pumpkin bisque, and some pumpkin muffin mix. read more

This is the only TJs we have across 4 surrounding cities. Everything is always out of stock all the time. This is our main grocery store for weekly family meals. The parking lot is full on Thursday and Friday nights. Of course Saturdays are super packed. Come early if you need things. read more

I normally love Trader Joe's but my experience at this location right before Thanksgiving was quite disappointing. They had sold out of all things pumpkin including the decorative gourds I was hoping to purchase for the holiday table. The best they could offer was a few delicata squash and some acorn squash. Their selection of Fall flowers was also miserable. Nothing in Fall colors just random roses and carnations. They also were sold out of dried orange slices which I needed for an orange and fig cranberry sauce I was preparing for the holiday. Sadness. The employees were nice and helpful in trying to find this stuff for me and super friendly so no fault of the employees. Not sure if this was due to supply chain issues or they just underestimated how much people love pumpkins and festive fall stuff. Hope they learn to purchase for of these items for sale next year since it appears other folks were also disappointed by the lack of pumpkins later in the season. read more

I love TJs!!! I never really go as much as I should. I love your variety, your greeting cards (99c!! amazing!!!), and all the pumpkin things you come out with every fall! We stopped by here when we were in town to grab some snacks for our road trip up to Yellowstone... cookies obviously and some dried fruit. I always love all the artwork around the store. My only thing is.. and this is with everyone is just how weird the layout is with all the snacks just above the fridge and freezer sections in the aisles. I can never remember which aisle I need to go down to find something. We're out of towners but have one near home. I will need to be stopping by when we get back into town because all the cute little succulents they had out for halloween and the gourd and pumpkin selection was great too! Crossing my fingers for my TJs to have just as an amazing selection. The only Trader Joe's in the state that sells alcohol is the one in Denver... not this one.. so if you're looking for some good $2 wine.. you'll have to travel a little bit farther. We talked to the cashier today and he said it was because they have a rule to help out mom and pop liquor shops in the state so only one TJs in CO can sell alcohol. Interesting.. but valid points. I love this store and the people working there. Came here with hubby since I couldn't shop with a broken leg.. and now he knows a bit more about how this store works. Initially it's a bit daunting because just about everything is their own private label, so you sometimes can't find what you are looking for. But that's where the very helpful staff just shines... all you have to do is ask! Some favorite products include: soy ice cream, frozen rice, small avocados, blueberries year round, salted chocolate graham crackers, fresh prepared green chili chicken enchiladas, and of course their fresh pizza dough. Now that they have beer for sale, I also enjoy their Trader Jose Light beer and intended to buy a six pack on this visit . But since only Hubby had his ID they wouldn't sell it to us. I was a little perturbed since I am way older than 21... but the rules are the rules. The check out person gave me free flowers instead... a very nice gesture. read more

Ohhh Trader Joe's Boulder Location... Why are you so "far" away??... I went here sometime back with my friend after we are in the neighborhood shopping etc.. I want to like this Boulder Trader Joe's, BUT why are some items found here NOT found in Denver locations.. *SIGH* From the conversations I had with the staffs, they mentioned that BOULDER Trader Joe's Location has its OWN distribution "company" - "SPECIAL" Boulder Truck etc.. Oh well... Anyways, its always a nightmare during the weekends, at ANY Trader Joe's - or the parking lot. I guess, I can only purchase the DRY stuffs from this Trader Joe's location, coz my freezer space is kind of limited nowadays. Love this Trader Joe's. It feels much more spacious than the three in Denver, and the employees are also very friendly. The only thing that is not amazing about this store is the location. It is smooshed into the middle of the parking lot of the Boulder Target and 29th Street mall. While there were already a few restaurants and buildings in the parking lot, having Trader Joe's over here just makes it even more crowded. read more

TJ's has so many things to like. It has unique products, reasonable prices and friendly employees. It may be one of the most enjoyable places to get groceries in Boulder County. The only way they could improve would be to open a store in Louisville, CO. I know of an empty Alfalfa's Market that would make a great location. Bring it on, Trader Joe's!! read more
