Plus, he gets a kick out of filling from the old style pumps from before the pumps became gas dispensing ATM machines that play non-stop commercials. Parking is limited, but if you live in Wintergreen, Graves Market should be your go-to stop before you start up the mountain and check-in before you go because there is not a cell service at that location.

This review is based purely on the Uhaul service that's run out of this store…read more Uhaul corporate couldn't accommodate any of my choices for my rental and shifted my reservation to this store. I drove 30 minutes down from Charlottesville to pick up my truck, but found out that the employee working at the time didn't know how to work the Uhaul services. She called her manager who said I should check in by phone because they have 24 hour access through Uhaul's website. Unfortunately there's no cell reception within five miles of their store, so I couldn't use the mobile check in. I drove until I had reception, but location services (which has to be enabled for check in) tipped them off that I wasn't on site, and wouldn't let me get the code for the truck. I ended up having to drive back the following day when an employee was working who did know how to rent out trucks (she was great, but that doesn't counteract the overall experience). Another complication from the lack of service at this location: when I picked up my Uhaul a text was sent prompting me to photo document any issues using their online site. I received this text when I drove far enough to get service, and when I clicked the link to review existing damages/log undocumented damages, the link had already expired. Overall a pretty terrible experience during an already stressful process. I would pick a new moving date before I'd rent a truck from this location again. To the manager: If you're going to run a Uhaul rental service from your store you need to get a cell phone signal booster, or have public wifi available (your cashier on the first day didn't know the password and couldn't give access).

We had such a fun trip driving up to visit Virginia's first Buc-ee's!…read more I ate so many honey roasted pecans that I almost made myself sick. They were hot & fresh, and oh so good! We honestly spent over an hour here just soaking in the Buc-ee's goodness! I do wish this location had picnic tables somewhere but that didn't stop us from enjoying our BBQ & Brisket sandwiches. We all bought a bunch of snacks to last us until our next Buc-ee's visit lol

I tried the pulled pork sandwich and I wanted the chicken tenders but didn't wanna waste food since I wasn't that hungry. Love this spot can't wait to come again!

Spooky Action ________ To: The Virginia Department of Agricultural and Consumer Services (VDACS) Date-Time: July 11, 2020, 7:00PM EDT I just noticed a Yelp review re: The Trading Post. It's from 12/18/2017 but it is the sort of thing I would expect when dealing with a gas station sandwich shop. The problem is magnified by the fact that The Trading Post is a hub for area tradesmen, many of whom do not wear masks to protect themselves from Covid-19. So it's an easy path from customer, to their breathed-upon money, to the cashier, to that cashier also spewing his/her no-mask oral spray and Covid-19 fingers onto sandwiches, to the customer's stomach, to the emergency room and, finally, to the graveyard. All because some poorly trained individual couldn't be bothered or doesn't take this matter seriously. I have to agree with the reviewer that it is absolutely deplorable if the people at The Trading Posts are not, at least currently, taking this matter seriously. Questions: * Has any VDACS staff addressed this issue with The Trading Post? * Is VDACS requiring food handlers to wear masks and gloves? * If so, are there fines for noncompliance? * Does VDACS have any view about the The Trading Post's current health awareness? * What do I do if I witness open-food handling w/o masks or gloves? Suffering from cabin…read morefever, my hubby and a couple of friends and I decided to find an outdoor activity to remedy our listlessness. Being pluviophiles, we didn't mind the light, summer rain. But what to do? Enter wineries!! We headed west toward Charlottesville, and first stopped in Palmyra where the winery there was only open for curbside pick up. My friends loaded the pickup with cases of wine but we were still in search of a charcuterie board and an open vineyard! Yelp to the rescue! We called the winery Yelp advised us was only about 10 miles away in Scottsville. It was open! Yes, they had charcuterie!! What a stupendous find! We approached the thistle blue painted sign and charming gate welcoming us to Thistle Gate Vineyard! Through the misty rain, the white barn-like cottage with the serene blue roof looked something from a Nicholas Sparks movie. Utterly quaint and beautiful! The wide porch was open for outdoor seating, wrought iron tables and chairs sprawled along the long planked flooring. Restrooms were located around the side so one didn't have to enter the winery. We were greeted by the owner who handed us a wine menu and their "flight sheet". The four of us chose our wine flights and each got a charcuterie box! Ahhh, this is the life! While we awaited our libations and sustenance, we spied an inviting gazebo near the vineyards. Our host said we were welcome to it! The grounds were lovely, albeit a bit soggy, a barrel fountain babbled along with the now drizzling rain, a bottle tree rooster glistened in the garden, cute slate signs were placed hither and thither around the shrubbery, it was all so idyllic. Our flights were served in pieces of wood made from wine barrels. Plastic cups were used due to Covid, but that didn't diminish the flavors of the fruit of the vine. I chose three reds and a blush. The Cabernet France was full-bodied with a dry finish. The Meritage (a portmanteau of Merit & Heritage) was delicate blend of varietals with fruity notes, the Thistle Red was a well-balanced blend of Merlot & Petit Verdot with a mild berry flavor and a rich burgundy color, and my favorite was the Thistle Blush, a crisp rosé made with Chambourcin grapes, easily my top rated grape! The blush was perfect for this overcast summer day, sipping the day way! I also tasted the St. George's Red Reserve which was also made with Chambourcin grapes and whispered cherry notes. Also my friend shared with me her Chardonnay which was a tad dry to my taste, but if you like white wine, I'm sure you'll like this one! What we took home??? The Thistle Red, couple bottles of Meritage, St. George and of course, several bottles of Thistle Blush! We enjoyed all these fine wines while in the gazebo surrounded by rows and rows of vineyards. What made the afternoon even better was the gorgeously presented charcuterie box! Two types of crackers served with salami, Brie, Swiss, and Gouda along with huge green grapes, dried apricots and salted almond Ghirardelli dark chocolates. I'm not exaggerating when I say this was the perfect complement to our wine tasting! A heavenly day spent in this dreamy winery, the only one in Fluvanna county, certainly cured our doldrums!! We are certainly returning to this hidden gem!! One sign posted says "We're so glad you're here", so are we Thistle Gate Vineyard, so are we!

I liked the Cabernet franc and masquerade red and didn't care for the petit Verdot and the river bend red. Overall, I had a good experience at Hardware Hills Vineyard and would recommend them for a winery experience in the area.
