    Porter house steak
    Stephen I.

My first experience at Lucky's steak house was definitely not lucky, even when called ahead we to have a reservation. We still had to sit and wait at the bar and yes the drinks helped but when we had a choice of sit at the bar or take a booth it it still would've been 20 limits to get a regular table, and then people sit after us they got food before us I feel like we weren't as important. Which can be very very irritating the bread and butter was good to hold us over my uncle got the slaw for an app my mom got a salad and my dad and my aunt got soup, both took way to long but the soup was hot thank god for that, me personally I don't care if theirs tickets ahead of us when people sit down right away and their food comes before mine and I've waited longer I get ticked. The ambiance is great atmosphere, mind you they took a while and for our mains to arrive and my dad was ready to walk out the door me I wanted to go full Gordon Ramsey Hell's Kitchen or John bar rescue but my folks were present and I was told to stand down: My mom's fish was cold never gave it back my dads mahi was over cooked, and my uncle and aunts food to them was spectacular, this place was open for around a month or so. My steak aka the porter house steak and our waiter said it was ticket times were crazy, and then the manager came by to sort it out and helped my dad out with his fish it was a salmon dish: They even didn't fill up the paper towel in the bathroom. Our waiter was not very chatty, and didn't even tell us the specials, and also wasn't informal of what was good on the menu, or recommend what he would recommend. Me personally if I was a waiter I chat up the table and help my customers with the choices. Overall my steak was good but I felt like I should've chosen a better steak than a liter house steak: too much gristle. Which brings me back to my previous point about the waiter not helping the customer with the order with recommendations. but still no excuse for sitting us and then other people go got their food first before we did. Very unhappy they replaced my ponderosa buffet place with this ? Man get it together. The manager was very apologetic and I felt bad for her.

The Pondarosa that was there is still there just under another name. Luckys is horrible. Go to Sav a Lot and buy a steak it will be better.

It's a cute place, decorated with many cool paintings, I took pictures of a few. It's like a little Italian bistro inside. My waitress was super sweet and attentive. The menu is robust. There were many items I would want to try, but given my limited time I went with the chicken Caesar salad. It was a perfect lunch portion and the chicken was lightly blackened. It was so tasty! I also ordered their bread basket, which was two pieces of grilled bread. It was a perfect side for the salad. I enjoyed it so much I plan to eat here again the next time I'm in town for work.

The first thing that strikes me was the many great options on the menu. You know the feeling, when there are as many as three entrees you can't decide on that appeal to you. That's a sign of a top notch restaurant. We started with the Ahi Tuna appetizer. I wish I could have ordered this as an entree it was that good. I went with the Ribeye French dip sandwich. It was quite good with a hearty amount of slim sliced ribeye and au jus that I wanted to dip my napkin in and eat it. The service was outstanding as our server took care of each of our orders.

I came here for breakfast from Oscoda based on the good YELP reviews and their early open times of 7am as by nature I am an early riser and very few restaurants in the area open at that time. For my first meal here I had their Little Manny breakfast which was their two egg, choice of meat, potatoes and toast entree. The eggs were well cooked, bacon was thick cut and tasty which is big deal for me and potatoes are of a cubed home cooked variety with sautéed pepper/onion medley mixed in with the potatoes. Nice! Price at $10.99 was very fare and normally there would be an upcharge to have your potatoes served Obrien style which they did not do here. Lastly the Coffee which too often is overlooked by some is quite good and full bodied just the way I like it. The restaurant is very clean and bright with super friendly service and great follow up through out the meal. They were quick with the coffee refill's where I never saw the bottom of my cup during the meal. This is a sure sign of great service and Cleary a strength of this business. Overall, a great spot to check out where I will definately be returning in the near future to sample their smash burgers, where I am a fan of that style of burger. They look so darn good in the YELP pictures not to come back and give them a try!

We made a reservation for 13 on a Saturday and they were ready and waiting for us. The table was prepared and two servers greeted us. The restaurant, located inside of the Springbrook Inn, is a bit difficult to describe. Comfortable with some kitsch, a bit of an upscale family restaurant with a reasonable wine list (also reasonable pricing). The menu is not extensive but hits all of the main American items: steak, seafood, pasta, soup and salad. All of the mains were served with mixed vegetables (zucchini, onion, pepper or sans pepper for me as requested) and a potato (which included rice in the category). We did have two vegetarians in the group and the grill was not very vegetarian friendly. They did offer a stuffed red pepper, which luckily both ordered and enjoyed. The rest of the group had a large variety: cajun pasta, steaks, shrimp, perch and my order of ribs. The cajun pasta had a good flavor and was not at all spicy (this could be a good or bad thing depending on your preferences). The only complaint was that only a lone shrimp was found in the dish (the menu did say shrimp, which while suggesting a plural, was not). Overall everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the ribs as was a bit disappointed. The meat was tender but severely over sauced. I also found the sauce to be average. I did really like the sauteed veggies. I would not agree with the other reviews that the food is outstanding. I felt it was good to above average, depending on the item. The service was five stars. Both servers were friendly and engaging, refilling promptly and were responsive in their check ins. My four stars are based on an overall good experience and the service certainly orchestrated this.
