I first visited Lucy's 7 in August of 2015 (first review is under this one). It wasn't a positive experience. But hey, it's been seven years -- maybe they've learned how to cook a burger. They haven't. My second trip was similar to the first. overcooked, flavorless burgers. very disappointing. In order to avoid having an overcooked burger (they need to overcook the beef to get the stuffed portion to melt/cook), my wife and I each ordered "a plain old joe" which is a not-stuffed burger with the toppings on the top -- medium rare. The plate of food looked fantastic as it comes to the table. But one bite in? Dry, medium-well, flavorless burgers. Not even a hint of red. More like ashen grey. Also, the grilled buns were cold. Grilled. But cold. Weird. The fries weren't terribly fresh (tepid at best). Our waiter was very good. We asked him what he thought of the burgers -- he said they were clearly overcooked and medium-well to well-done. He ordered up two more. The manager came by and offered to buy us a drink (we have water and a coke). At least she was on top of it. I asked my wife what she thought the odds of us being served a medium-rare burger was. "Slim and none" was her reply. And... guess what, she was correct. The second burgers were cooked again to an ashen grey. Zero flavor. Dry as can be. The buns were at least warm. And the fries were hot and fresh. Our lunch was basically fries, a pickle and the tomato and lettuce that came with the burgers. Both the waiter and the manager came by -- both agreed and apologized. Manager comped one of the burgers. *** There are many reviews for Lucy's 7 claiming this is the best burger the reviewers have ever eaten. I feel sorry for these people -- the burgers at Lucy's 7 are overcooked and flavorless. The kitchen apparently has no idea how to cook a burger other than basically burning it. We won't give them a third try. *** I would suggest that the staff at Lucy's 7 all take a trip to Minhas Kitchen in Monroe and order a burger. When your staff bites into Minhas' burger, something odd and amazing will happen. They'll all taste something. read more

This may be more of a 3.5, but I'll throw em some holiday cheer. A few friends and I stopped in on a Thursday in December. Our server was pleasant and efficient. There is a draft during the winter whenever someone opens the door, which is not pleasant. Or efficient, for that matter. We all started with adult milkshakes, which were delicious, but I couldn't taste any alcohol and didn't feel the least bit impaired afterwards. Take that how you will. I felt the menu lacked a few toppings that I'm used to seeing at burger bars, most importantly- avocado. I like to get some balance while I'm pigging out. I ended up ordering the cheddar, BBQ, and onion burger. The burgers are all stuffed, which is different. The cheddar was plentiful and the BBQ sauce did not overpower the burger. On the other hand, I didn't taste any bacon and I'm not fully sure it came with any? I chose sweet potato fries as my side and the spicy mayo for dipping was spot on. The dill pickle was also a nice touch. I would come back for burgers again if I were in the area, but probably skip the milkshake. Plenty of local beers on tap to choose from! read more

Very bland food. Way too hot inside the restaurant. Very loud and cramped. We waited way too long for a table even though we called and asked if we needed to male a reservation and the lady on the phone told us no. We ended up waiting over and hour for a table. Service was very poor. Our waitress barely came to our table but twice. It was hyped up way too much for the poor experience. Wont be going back ever. read more

My friends recommended we stop by this restaurant on our way to Wisconsin as it was a halfway point and a great place to grab a burger. My friends suggested we start off with a "tipsy shake" and I got the White Russian. It was a fantastic shake with whipped cream and a cherry on top, with the added kick of a White Russian liquor concoction within the vanilla ice cream. Amazingly good! I then selected the Octoberfest burger stuffed with Swiss cheese, which was a special of the month. It also came with sauerkraut and a beer brat and honey beer mustard. The waitress, Ellie, recommenced we cut the burgers before eating as the stuffings could be especially hot if we should just bite into it. I had my burger with sweet potato fries, which were perfectly cooked. The burger was outstanding. The only issue I had at this quaint restaurant had to do with the WiFi connection. You had to provide your email address to get connected and I was only using it for 5 minutes when my McAfee software sent me a warning. It stated one threat was detected on this unsecured network so I immediately got off the network and had to finish my Yelp review later that weekend. Still, I would recommend this place for a great burger and the tipsy shakes!!! read more

This place has great burgers. It's a cute place in downtown Beloit. Good drink menu and nice atmosphere.

I'll be honest, the cheese stuffed burger is not my favorite preparation for a burger, but when in Wisconsin, do as the Wisconsinites do... We enjoyed our meal. The service was exceptional from the host who welcomed us warmly, to our server who made sure we were well attended, gave good suggestions and kept our drinks topped off without needing to ask. The fried pickles were very good, and the burgers also very good. Be careful, they are piping hot! Lucy's has several flavor and topping combinations to choose from, to suit any taste. It's a great spot on a charming downtown strip. read more

Burger was about as good as a whopper from BK. Beer was good but pricey. The only reason for the 3 stars was the cool ambiance. If you're in town stop by if you want an average burger. Not terrible but not worth driving over 10mins for. Would not recommend to a friend. read more

Cheese. Inside the burger. GENIUS. It's a great place to catch up with people and grab a bite! The inside of the place is a bar/restaurant, so the lighting is a bit dark and it does get loud, but the food and company makes it worth it! They also have a few sidewalk tables when the weather is good. I had the Veggi-licious burger with sweet potato fries, that was absolutely delicious! For vegetarians, they allow you to get the veggie burger with any other topping available! AND, it's not your normal Morningstar or Boca burger; this is a handmade black bean burger. YUM. read more

Yeah, so I didn't want a burger. I wanted wings. So sue me. They could have been better, a lot better. Generic crunchy-crusted wings drowned in a vague reddish buffalo sauce without any heat. The first cup of blue cheese sauce seemed to possibly be actual blue-cheese dressing, but the second was clearly a few crumbles of blue cheese doused in ranch. Wisconsin meets Iowa. A far cry from New York. I didn't expect much, but I thought it might be better than that. The celery and carrots were good, and the beer selection is quite good (they were out of Moon Man unfortunately, but had Mud Puppy Porter and some Hinterland selections I approve of.) So on 2/18/2023 I was served loaded fries twice that were cold soggy fries. I let the waiter know they were remade now the those loaded fries the bacon was ice cold fries were room temperature. Then let's not forget the drinks they didn't have strawberries for the malt. They gave me all juice in my skinny sip drink. That was remade still TRASH. My friend drink was made and no liquor in there that was remade and that was better. I GIVE ZERO STARS AND Don't RECOMMEND AT ALL UNLESS TOU WANT TO GET SICK. I've been here before and had good food ,decent service, not excellent just decent. Let me tell you about 5/1/2019 at approximately 1:30 p.m. Restaurant was 1/2 full, go in, and get a table right by the front door. Me and my 2 daughters sitting with a menu and getting ready to order drinks. NO ONE comes, 5 min/10 min, at 15 minutes we get up to leave. The waitress who was supposed to be taking care of us and the host as we were walking out the door, yell "SORRY". We leave. REALLY? I think I'm done with LUCY'S Seven. read more

The fact that Lucy's 7 serves the humble hamburger should not mean that exceptional service and attention to detail go to the wayside. The tiny hostess, without uttering a syllable, flicked a couple of menus, motioning us to a corner table by the window, dropped the menus on the table and left without a word. A waitress came and took our order. Our drinks came quickly and then we waited... and waited. It took about 30 minutes to get our food, brought by a different waitress. It was then that we noticed that our meals were wrong and that we didn't have utensils or napkins and advised her. She took the food back to the kitchen. Thankfully, it only took a couple of minutes to get corrected. I asked the waitress again for utensils and napkins, once more. And we waited and waited, finally getting them 5 minutes later along with the excuse that all of the silverware was dirty. The food. It was "ok", not amazing. Not worth $40 for 2 burgers and fries. The atmosphere, as with all the other restaurants in the Geronimo group, is top notch. For $10 we could have hit the drive-thru. That would have been quicker and maybe better service. This place looked good and we wanted to try it based on reviews, luckily I checked Yelp first, as there was an hour plus wait to start with. I joined the waitlist on Yelp and because we were just a 5 min walk from this place, we chilled at the hotel and waited until we were about 4th in line and walked over to the bar. It ended up being maybe 45 min wait. We started with a beer flight (Rocky's Revenge, Mud Puppy, Johnny' "Blood" Red and Blumer's rootbeer). I will admit, I'm not a beer drinker. I don't like the taste of most beers, so am always willing to do a flight, on the hunt for the beers I do like. I liked all of these!! The Rocky's Revenge (bourbon barrel-aged brown ale) was my favorite followed by Mud Puppy and then Johnny Blood Red. The Rocky's Revenge was super smooth. Hubby got Outboard, which was good, but not great. Service was a bit slow, but the place was very busy (even though socially distanced and wearing masks) so it made sense. Waitress was very friendly and made sure that we had enough to drink. The shining star of the night was these phenomenal burgers. I went with the Olive Lucy burger. I was concerned about the olive tapenade being too greasy, but it wasn't at all and it was the right amount. I skipped the top bun and just ate the rest of the sandwich, so I wouldn't fill up on bread. The bun seemed lightly toasted and was buttery goodness from the few bites of the top I had. The burger was a nice size, stuffed with provolone. The roasted garlic aioli was light and didn't overpower the burger, just nicely complemented the flavors bringing it all together in a delectable heavenly explosion in every bite. It was oh-so-good. Hubby had the Cheddar Bacon BBQ. Bacon was thick-cut, with melted, gooey cheddar complemented by a sweet bbq sauce. There is genius in the pairing of all of these flavors in that no one flavor overpowered anything else, you could taste each item and every bite was amazing. The sweet potatoe fries were thin cut and were very good. I opted for the carrots/celery with ranch and the veggies were fresh, decent cuts and a nice pairing with the burgers. I have had stuffed burgers before and didn't care for them. This place changed my mind. I wish these guys were near Chicago..... The beer. The burger. The best!!! read more

I used to really enjoy visiting this establishment, however it's been a couple years and there's definitely a difference in everything from the quality of the food to the quality of the service. the service was slow and it's not a big place. the food was received warm not hot but warm as if it was placed under the light and we were right by the "kitchen" which again the place isn't big at all. the burger was dry as heck and the bun. ew.
