The Road Dawg Family Restaurant is my dad's regular Thursday spot, and he brings me here every time I'm in town. Located right off the interstate, it has that classic highway diner feel. The main sign on the pole has definitely seen better days, and the place as a whole feels a bit run down. As you walk in, be careful of the trip hazard at the entrance--it's a bit uneven. It's a little "divey," but don't let that be a dealbreaker. It's just an observation, a reminder not to judge a book by its cover. Note to management: Some minor fixes could give it a little more curb appeal. Stepping inside, you'll see the main dining room and an old buffet area that I assume hasn't been used since COVID. It's all a bit dated, but clean and functional. They serve breakfast all day and have a full lunch and dinner menu as well. Even though it was a relatively busy Sunday morning, we were greeted and seated quickly and didn't have to wait long for our initial service. Almost before I could take a sip of my no-frills, bottomless cup of $3 coffee, our giant portions of breakfast arrived. It was an omelette kind of day for us. We placed a special order for my dad (he's got his usual), I got the Denver Omelette ($14) with jalapeños, and my stepmom ordered the Meat Eaters Omelette ($15). They opted for toast, and I got the pancakes, which were a meal in themselves. While the prices have increased significantly since my first visit, the large portions are big enough to share or take half home, which is exactly what we did. We were a little ignored and never asked if everything was as expected. We did, however, get coffee refills and eventually received the bill and some to-go boxes. Another note to management: The bell that incessantly rings every time someone comes or goes needs to go! By the time we left, I was anxious and extremely tired of the bell. I feel sorry for the employees who have to listen to that all day long! Overall, this place does a good and honest business. Aside from the bell and the slight dip in attention, we enjoyed our meal.

Breakfast prices are unbelievable!!! Very clean diner with a roadway theme. Waitstaff is friendly, works together with the kitchen and clearly enjoy their job. My garden veggie omelette and American fries were delicious! Loaded with veggies and neatly folded omelette. Fries were seasoned and crispy. Bottomless cup of coffee with plenty of chances for refills. Also, they offer a cash discount!

Driving through the area and just stopped for gas and a quick bite- what a great surprise! I had bacon and eggs with toast and my husband the lumberjack with pancakes- it was fast and portions were immense. The classic 1970a cafe vibe was also an added plus. Would love to stop there again..

Stopped by for breakfast at 630 am on our way to Minneapolis. Plenty of parking, can accommodate RVs. Greeted right away, homey and clean. Server was pleasant and efficient! Food was good, plenty of coffee, she left a pot for us to be able to refill which was great. Prices were very reasonable, less than $30 for 3 adults. The only downside was loud bass sound from music being played at the Pub next door. Pub is open from 6am-2am.

9-16-24. Nice folks work here and the food was good, men's restroom was showing lots of neglect and it needed a good cleaning.

Great service and food was solid! I had the French Toast and my wife had a club sandwich. We shared the jalapeño cheese curds.

Such a great supper club!!! Wish I could give 4.5 stars…read more We made a reservation for NYE. They were very accommodating. They let us know right away the credit card machine was down but they'd reimburse us the ATM fee. We sat at the bar and ordered a drink for about 10 mins so they could get our table ready. Upon being seated we were greeted and told the specials. We ordered a special thinking it was an appetizer. They made the exception for us and turned it into an appetizer! And thank goodness, one of the best appetizers I've ever had. The scallops were buttery and cheesy. A combo I wouldn't have thought of. The scallops were perfect and not rubbery. We ordered steaks which come with soup AND salad AND bread AND a potato. I've seen other reviews where they get a relish tray. We did not, but maybe because it was NYE? Everything was incredibly fresh and tasty. We were so full by the time our meal came. The service was top notch, the ambiance was what you'd expect for a supper club. The only thing we felt didn't hit the mark were the drinks. The wine menu is sub par and the cocktail menu is fruity beach drinks?? Otherwise everything was fabulous and I definitely recommend the NY strip steak with the cheesy potato's!! Will be eating here again.

Although the food and experience was enjoyable , I was not a fan of the tight dining environmentread more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. Worst beach experience I've ever had. Rules are over…read morethe top for a beach. The $15 entry fee is completely ridiculous and on top of that it's cash only and there's no mention of this on their website. When I went to use the ATM they charge a $5 fee which is outrageous. All the employees were rude and and top of everyone about their ridiculous rules. Our bags/cooler was inspected more closely than TSA agents inspect bags at the airport. If you have three children you can't take them here by yourself because they only allow two children per one adult, most ridiculous rule I've ever heard especially for a place that employs lifguards and the swimming area is condensed and roped off. They also have an obnoxious DJ that thinks he's DJing spring break somewhere in Florida.... completely unnecessary Going to the beach should be a stress free relaxing fairly inexpensive experience but at this beach it's expensive and stressful because of the ridiculous over the top rules and rude staff DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY

Excessive rules and waaaaay to pricey. 15$ for entry is too high. I live literally right next door…read moreand I wish it was cheaper cause I would go everyday. Can't even hang out at the bar with out having to pay the entry fee even if you don't want to swim. I really wish it was different.. Even for getting a season pass you think you would get a really good deal but it's not.. literally save like a dollar per entry. So 14$. Whooopty doooo
