I bought a GE freezer at the end of July last year, and it stopped working, and we had an emergency because my baby's milk back ups are in there. I called GE and got an appointment, but the soonest available was 2 days from now, so I called them to see if they could get me in any sooner and they couldn't, but they offered to pre-chill and deliver a loaner freezer to keep my things frozen until our freezer is fixed! I have gone to Lucy's for 35 years for all my appliances. Today I purchased a new refrigerator and dishwasher. The sales people are very informative and not pushy. Lucy's always has what I need and their prices are good. Their selection on the floor is impressive. Today I received a great Independence Day discount. They set up the delivery and installation to fit my schedule. Over the years the delivery and installation has been on time and well done. I hope you visit them before you bother with the big box stores. Lucy's will always help out if you need repairs or warranty work on an old appliance. They once brought me a loaner refrigerator when Amana had trouble with compressors and I had to wait for Amana to come out. They will take good care of you! Unfortunately my address was too far away for their at-home delivery service, but they still helped immensely with all the questions I had and even referred me to stores that were closer to my location! They told me which brands to steer clear from based on my needs, and which ones they prefer based on part availability and servicing. What do you do when your 12 year old freezer keeps shutting itself off while you have lots of valuable food in it??? You go to Lucy's Appliance at 10 am and they shift around their schedule to send a truck ONLY for your delivery with a new freezer at 2:30 pm!! Don placed the new upright freezer where we wanted it and hauled the dying unit away for free. He did a great job explaining the controls and made sure we had the owner's manual and accessories. Just trying to find anywhere with a freezer to buy during the pandemic is hard enough but having it delivered within hours because of our old one dying is remarkable. I really like buying my appliances from Lucy's appliances. I have been buying my appliances from them for as long as I've been buying appliances. They really know how to do business and have a sixth sense about a customer's needs. Recently my dishwasher went out. As you know it is always better to buy something new as the technology continues to evolve. I got there and as it turns out Dan directed me to a really good deal on a really nice dishwasher. As it turns out turns out, the timing of the death of my old dishwasher turned out to be a blessing, as the new unit was on an extreme discount for the 4th of July weekend. We are really happy with our new dishwasher and I'm so glad that Dan and Rita were able to stay a few minutes late till I got the dimensions and everything figured out as there could have been a problem with one of the kitchen cabinet drawers opening and striking the dishwasher. This required me taking a trip back to the house not once but twice. I was able to pick up my new dishwasher on the spot and have it installed that night. No leaks and I have to tell you this new GE dishwasher is so much quieter. Thanks to all the professionals at Lucy's appliances. He asked me a bunch of questions regarding my refrigerator. He told me if someone was handy they might be able to fix the leak. He told me he could guide me with directions if I would send him some pics. So I took that challenge and took the plate off the back of the refrigerator. And there it was, the tube had fallen off the valve. I put the tube back in the valve. Dave looked at the pics I sent. He said I had fixed it. Who does that these days? My family has been buying from them for 30yrs. They are family owned, they know what they're doing. They're affordable. Everything you would want from a small business. So why the one star? Well, our washer goes out, try to fix ourselves, no dice. Call, schedule a repair, see you in a few days. No biggie. Repair day comes round, repairman never arrives, diagnosis over the phone, doesn't have the part, wait until Monday... Your kidding right? I waited 6 days for a repair guy to never look at the machine, to tell me it's a part you don't have, and now I have to wait 9 days total for a part to hopefully fix the issue? Why couldn't this be done during the initial phone call? Why did I have to wait for a guy to never arrive? This is a joke right? Quality has certainly dropped from what I remember and I will not be using them in the future. Cautionary tale folks read more

Was forced to start making phone calls this morning as our refrigerator wasn't getting cold and the freezer was becoming questionable. Decided to call Lucy's as they are in my neighborhood and Dan was a life saver (well he saved the groceries I bought just yesterday, so basically the same thing.) He took the time to walk me through opening various parts of our fridge, which lead to me finding a huge chunk of ice in the freezer fan. Fan is moving, the fridge is cold, the food is saved, and Lucy's has a new future customer! I would definitely recommend them for any repair issues or for purchasing new appliances, just for the fact that customer service like I experienced today is so hard to find these days, especially considering the fact I was not technically a customer. We have purchased every appliance we own from Lucy's going back to 1970's. Even when we moved several towns over we continued to purchase from them whenever we needed appliances. The number one reason is their customer service; It is second to none. When repairs were necessary, one phone call to their family owned service technicians and the issue was often resolved with helpful recommendations, without the cost of a service call (their suggestion not mine). Price points were never an issue because they are competitive across the board. We've never found a reason to go anywhere else, and several reasons not to. read more

I had to update my original review 5 star review. Here is why: I called to get pricing on a particular Whirlpool microwave I wanted. The salesman offered me an upgraded Whirlpool combination Convection model at a lesser cost. I was just thrilled so I purchased it. Then when I went to use the sensor feature it did not work right. I called the store back explaining the malfunction and was told just to use it for a while as I would end up really liking it. Well two weeks later I called back saying the sensor feature still wasn't working properly (as it was taking over 10 minutes to cook a 9oz frozen meal), the microwave steamed up all the time and a potato would either explode or not be fully cooked. Well they offered me a different lesser microwave at an additional price plus the cost of installation again. The original microwave I wanted had now gone up $79.00! So bottom line, if you want to purchase here just hope there is nothing wrong with the the appliance or you'll be stuck with it. I do have to say they did offer to have the service man come out but when I asked how he would test the microwave I was told he would put a cup of water in it. Well putting a cup of water in it would get the water hot as the microwave worked, it was just the sensor feature that would malfunction. The sensor feature was the only thing I really wanted. So that test would prove nothing. My original thrilled feeling about this store has changed to sadly disappointed. read more

There just isn't anything bad about Lucy's. I have made several appliance purchases as has other family members and friends - always a good experience. You walk in, buy the appliance, it gets delivered and you don't think about it again until the next time. NO drama here folks. 100% good people who want your business and earn it the minute you walk in the door. Very knowledgable and share it. I have walked in after researching for hours and bought something totally different for less money and loved it. I have also walked in without a clue and loved it too. You can't go wrong.
