Woodmaster Fence - Rotting 27 year old fence with failing wood posts and overgrown weed trees.

    Woodmaster Fence

The scope of work was replacing 251 lineal feet of rotting five-foot tall, 27-year-old wood picket fence in our backyard. After detailed comparative analysis, WoodMaster actually proposed to use more labor and material than competitors to build a stronger fence all at a lower price. As a competitive advantage, only WoodMaster included the permit in the proposal. Best of all, WoodMaster earned my trust by showing me how their export recommendations, opting for steel over wood posts, aligned with my family's best long term interests. Given our project budget was $10,000, WoodMaster recommended galvanized steel over wood posts because they would more than double the life of the fence while keeping the project within our budget. The owner, Rick, answered calls, patiently answered questions, and responded to emails promptly. WoodMaster's exceptional laborer, Augustine, not only built our fence with mastery befitting an artisan, he exceeded expectations by installing a hinge on a section of fence next to utility boxes so that utility contractors could open and close the fence to access the boxes for maintenance without damaging the fence. Augustine labored with love as if the fence he built in our yard was the only fence on earth; in reality he's built more fences in 26 years than he can count. When my local jurisdiction's building inspector showed up to inspect each post hole, each met the 36 inches required by code. WoodMaster did not cut corners, spaced each picket a consistent distance from neighboring pickets, and cut a well arched convex pattern in each section so the fence looks right. What I love most about choosing WoodMaster is the uncompromising commitment to excellence. WoodMaster's recommendation to choose sturdy steel posts provides peace of mind because the next generation will be better off by not needing to replace rotting posts, at $600 a pop, in as little as 10 years. Throughout the project, WoodMaster tailored the fence to best meet my family's needs, specifically by lowering sections so pets do not squeeze underneath. As a bonus, WoodMaster allowed me to snatch a few extra pickets, with the rustic aroma of cedar wood, in case one is damaged in the future. WoodMaster attended to every detail of the fence with mastery. We could not be more pleased with our choice of WoodMaster to build the fence of a lifetime so that we can enjoy the great outdoors as a family.

Millenium Stone of IL - Our kitchen, where the granite was installed.

Luis is the owner, and he came off pleasant enough when I contacted him for a countertop install for my home. He came out to measure and quoted me 7,200.00 for the job. I signed a contract on a Monday and I gave him 3,600.00 down. I went to several granite suppliers in Elk Grove Village with my wife, and we spent the day in order to pick out the two slabs we wanted for our kitchen counters. I talked with the supplier and they said they could deliver the stone the next day to Luis's shop in Woodstock for fabrication, as we were under duress to get the job done as soon as possible. I texted Louis and he said he would arrange to have someone there to unload the stone...Thought we were good to go... A week had passed and I heard nothing, so I called Luis and he then informed me that he had made a mistake on the price. It would now be 9200.00 to do the job! He also informed me that he did not take delivery of the stone last week because of the price issue. I asked why he didn't call me right away? He blamed his wife for not sending me an email with the price change. That is when I should have jumped ship!, but we had lost a week already, so unfortunately I gave him the benefit of the doubt and agreed to the price increase, as he then promised he could install it by the end of that week. He then called that Thursday and asked if Monday would be ok, I reluctantly agreed. Sunday night rolled around and I had heard nothing as to what time he would be there the next day. I texted him to ask, his reply was 9 to11... really?, his shop is 20 min from me and he couldn't give me a firm time? He arrived at 9am. I could now post a long list of issues with the install, but I will give you just a few of the lowlights. He had to cut a 10 foot long slot out of the drywall wall down to the studs in order to slide the mismeasured countertops into the wall to get them to fit. Drywall dust and chunks were deposited in my drawer runners and the cabinetry below. He made no attempt to clean up his mess. The end result of the install was barely acceptable. The man is truly a hack and a real jerk to work with. If you are looking for a stressful experience from start to finish and a half assed job for your big dollar purchase,,, Luis is your man! If not, STEER CLEAR of Millennium Stone of Il. in Woodstock.
