They not only did a spectacular job on both our house and outbuilding roofs, but also represented us to get the insurance to pay the entire cost due to hail damage discovered from a prior hail storm in the area. They were also able to completely correct a structural defect in our roof from back when our home was built. Our home has never looked better. We had top quality shingles to choose from with a great manufacturer's warranty. She asked me to help her get some other estimates because the one she received was extremely high. She had an advertisement card from DGB roofing construction Inc. which was local to Crystal Lake and to me a perk. So I called and made an appointment and they were very communicative. Because my mother's home is very difficult to locate they called me a couple times to find us and they were even able to come a day earlier which was great for me having come from out of state and other obligations I needed to manage. Now though, we were expecting to get an estimate my mother was so relieved and felt blessed by the adjuster named Nabil. He was so very honest, thoughtful and helpful and with all the other worries I have about an elderly parent; this gave me peace at heart. He was up on the roof with his equipment & I was also looking at the roof thinking it was looking pretty good. But while Nabil was doing his inspection from the roof and I was on the ground he explained how well the valleys were built, there were top notch vents and the flanges around the chimney stack were also very good quality. He told me it was a 30 year shingle and had probably had been put in about 15 years ago. I am so very grateful that there are still contractors out there with some ethics. Because it would be very, very easy to take advantage of an 80-year-old woman in this day and age. As the other company would have done and the second contractor I had contacted who wasn't going to come and look at the roof he was going to do it via satellite. No thanks! These are the reasons I am giving this company such a high rating even though we did not schedule a roofing project. If you think you need a new roof, I would recommend contacting DGB roofing and construction Inc. and especially to ask for Nabil. The inspection was free as well for my mother. Tony was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. The pricing was comparable to another estimate we received, but we are confident that these windows are better quality and will last longer. They included a fix for a hole in our siding without trying to upsell us for all new siding. We ordered in October and the manufacturer had our windows ready for installation in December. The crew that came out were so friendly and very respectful of our home. Scheduling the installation, painting, cleanup, and finishing touches was a breeze. The winter weather did make it difficult for the crew to clean up nails and debris on the outside, but they did come back when it was warmer to clean up. It was a mess. I carefully researched companies that did exterior work. I ultimately chose Olson on the basis of their reputation of doing high-quality work. Shortly thereafter I met with the project manager (Joe H) and he was helped me get the colors and materials picked and ordered and the project was underway. When the install day arrived, I was introduced two a 2-man work crew that would be handling the bulk of the work. In the course slightly more than a week, they totally rebuilt the full exterior of my home. The results are amazing and the home feels new again! Two things really stood out to me and my experience with Olson. 1). The work ethic of that two-man crew. They worked as hard as anyone I have ever seen. Except for lunch, work was non-stop from sunrise to sunset. This was hard and grueling work, especially the demolition of the old siding and stone fascia. They showed up every day like clockwork, and cleaned up after each day. 2). The quality of work they demonstrated. They absolutely knew what they were doing, and they were very good at it. Everything was installed true, level, without gaps, etc. Caulk lines were perfect etc. Everywhere they worked you could see the pride in what they do, and it was very clear there were no shortcuts taken. These two gentlemen were expert craftsman and I can gratefully say my house now reflects that. It turned out more beautiful than I'd ever imagined. I have never nor will ever receive any compensation for this review. My sole motivation for writing is to share the positive experience I had with Olson. Finding a trustworthy company for a project of this size and investment is daunting. Olson, especially their work crew, deserves recognition for a job well done. I can recommend them without hesitation for their quality work and attention to detail. They should be proud of their accomplishments, and I am proud of it too.
