Steak Burrito
Bill A.

Wow, I had this on the plan and am disappointed that i did not go sooner. This is a must for mexican food, all super authentic, flavorful with good portions. I had the 3 taco combo, shrimp, carnitas and beef. All the meat was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Special shout out the carnitas, marinated and seasoned and cooked with perfection. I also got the rice and beans. Authentic, yumm. The service was great and the staff was super friendly. They share space with grocery/carniceria. Great atmosphere with friendly people. Even though I did not have the burrito I included a photo to show the sheer size. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. 5 star mexican all the way around.

Good food with big portions at a price point that makes it worth it. Most items I've ordered from here, I definitely could not finish by myself in one sitting, or they're all something to be shared with everyone at the table. Be it their burritos, any items under soup, or their Luis steak fries. I haven't ordered anything that truly disappointed besides perhaps certain tacos, but it's my preference to how I like them. Some menu items are dine-in only, and only those who dine-in get a free basket of chips and salsa. Takeout orders do not come with chips and salsa unless ordered though I personally wouldn't order them myself as they're ok. My few gripes would be how the dine-in area isn't the cleanest and there are some flies that fly around, but that could be avoided if you move to a different table. You can sit wherever in the restaurant portion as Luis Mexican Food and Grill is both an eatery and a grocery store, which is really cool. You could shop and get food here. It's only a little hard when ordering takeout because the place they tell you to wait is a bit in the way of other patrons. Dine-in orders come out pretty fast while takeout does not. I would say I've waited double the time or more for my takeout, so that's something to keep in mind when ordering to-go.

We came for birria tacos and they did not disappoint! The food was so good and the size of the tacos was impressive. It was small and quaint, there is a self serf salsa bar in the dining area. It is a small shop, off the beaten path but delicious. I also tried horchata for the first time and the cup was huge! It was delicious. The employees were all super kind and friendly and the area was well kept. This is my new go to for birria tacos!

Chicken Torta...yum

Yuuuuuuuuuum! What a gem. Whenever I come home if I can sneak in a visit to Luis I will. Food is so good. I love the tortas. You cannot go wrong with them. I've been with friends and family and have never heard anyone complain about anything they have eaten. It is back in the cut off of Watson (I think near the Dollar General). There's also a small grocery area inside. I usually get my food to go but the one time I did eat in the service was good. So no complaints here...get yourself some authentic Mexican cuisine and bypass the other blank spots.

Birria Tacos

Just gonna say, these barria tacos are the bomb. We split them for lunch and I struggled eating two. They have a small bar with their sauces and some veggies. This place is a hidden gem inside the Mexican grocery store. You aren't going here for top service or ambiance. Totally a whole in the wall joint and the food is delicious.

Esquite

We ordered take out. The food is amazing! I've had Birria tacos before and I want a huge fan, but these were delicious! Fried just right and the sauce was so good they I was dipping my burrito in it. Speaking of the burrito, that thing is thicccccc. It was cooked perfectly. I am a sauce person, so I would have wanted it to be more sauce or sauce on the side to add even more flavor. But the birria sauce was perfect for it. The chips and cheese dip were sooo good too. The cheese dip is not a hot one, which we are ok with because of our toddler. The Mexican bottled cokes were a nice addition to the meal. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the esquite. I don't know if it was the mayo or what, but I've had much better. Everything else was so good, I couldn't knock it down a star just because of that. Great authentic Mexican food.

Guacamole
Joni T.

The guacamole was the best thing I had. We all ordered 3 Texas house specials, 2 taco salads, tacos, chips, salsa and guac. 7 of us and noone liked their food. It was just bland with no flavor. The salsa was watery. You can buy Mexican groceries here. Just wasn't what we expected.

Beef flautas

The California Burrito has changed a bit but it's still a delicious burrito. It was so big that I left with leftovers. Love the tortilla chips they give to dine-in customers.

Quesadilla with asada

This place is nearly perfect! Best Mexican food I have had since I moved here from the west coast! The only thing I would suggest for them is to use some different tortilla chips. Otherwise so far, I have had the chimichanga, their chicken soup, the California burrito and their quesadilla all amazing! And their salsas are awesome

I dine here at least once a week because their Tortas are simply the best I've ever had--perfectly flavorful and consistently delicious. The store also offers a fantastic selection of drinks and snacks, making it easy to find the perfect pairing for your meal. It's a must-visit spot for anyone who appreciates great food and a variety of complementary options!

When did you guys close? 😢

They are back open!! The food is still great!

Is it back open?

Yes it is. It's been open a couple of weeks now.

We've gone by the last couple of times we were up in Warner Robins (as recently as yesterday, 8/22), and found the doors locked and the lights out. A note on the doors says a family emergency of some sort...anyone know when they might open up again?

They are open now!! The food is still amazing.

Greetings...was thinking of trying this place out tomorrow (the food looks fabulous). Was wondering if it's a cafeteria style place or do they have tables/waitresses, too, if you're eating there? Thanks, David

There is no waitstaff. Think of it as a mom-and-pop shop that happens to sell food. They have tables, so you just order and wait. They are pretty fast too.

Where can I find their menu?

Luis is not el broncos. El broncos is on Watson with ok Mexican. Luis is off Watson behind Auto Zone. Please don't confuse the two Luis is far better.

Does anyone know the hours? I'm excited to eat here! I tried calling but the number isn't in service.

We were in the restaurant for approximately 2 hours, and by the end of the meal my special needs child was very overstimulated and upset and we were focused on getting her home. My poor husband was flustered because he was worried I would react to the food allergy, and trying to calm my special needs daughter at the same time, and mistakenly never handed the cashier his card. She stood there and watched him sign the (wrong) receipt and didn't say a word. We even waited for our friends to check out behind us, and still nothing was said. To my surprise, I get numerous texts today (7/10 ) that my picture is on Facebook and we have been accused of stealing. With this clearly being an accident (you can see all of the mentioned factors in the video) I just think the situation could have been handled much much better. This whole fiasco also had the potential to affect my husband's job as well as my own business. My husband IMMEDIATELY called to clear up the situation, however after removing the post with our picture on it Sol Azteca made an additional post about the situation. This could have been handled much differently and with so much more grace. They have PERMANENTLY lost our business and I will be warning people about their very uncalled for, immature, antagonistic behaviors when it came to the situation.

My entrée was the veggie fajitas, fresh perfectly grilled veggies which comes with flour tortillas and a side of beans and rice. There is no ability to order online, so we called the order in. The online menu was massive, yet for the most part, it was easy to navigate. Parking is plentiful since the restaurant is located on HWy 96 in the Publix shopping center. When I picked up the meal, the staff was friendly. Most importantly, our order was not missing anything. The ambiance was relaxed, with plenty of booths, and they also had tables for large groups. There is a small outdoor seating area on the side of the restaurant. Our order included chips and salsa, which we all enjoyed. The salsa was spicy and truly pleased my tastebuds. My husband ordered the shrimp fajitas, which he enjoyed. His meal included plenty of shrimp and veggies. Our son had the Texas fajitas and also enjoyed his meal. They both had enough left over to eat the next day. I had a mystery meal under the mixed section called New! Shrimp House Special. My meal was basically shrimp fajitas on top of soggy rice. The rice was way too mushy to eat, but the rest of my Entree was good. They probably should have put the rice in another container. We will definitely come back and will dine in next time.

No offense but small town Mexican restaurant that's a chain...it is what it is. Sometimes you luck up...most times you don't. So we ordered the guacamole with pico de gallo and that was pretty good. Salsa was ok...I prefer a chunkier salsa and this was pretty watery. The issue came with our entrees. We ordered fajitas and off rip I was like why are they not sizzling? If fajitas come and I can touch the plate...that's a problem. I didn't really say anything initially because who knows...maybe this is the norm for this restaurant. The problem came when I could hear the fajita orders of all the other tables as they passed by. My steak and chicken were dry...I ate a few bites but some pieces were just unbearable. The onions were the best part of the plate. Few bites of beans and rice but I just couldn't do it. Service was fine. I mentioned to my server the issue as he asked if we needed a box. I didn't, because I wasn't going to eat it. He said sorry and that was that. I asked to speak to a manager because I try not to leave a bad review without addressing it first with a manager. I could tell the server's hesitation in wanting to get the manager so I just called it a wash. So here we are. Won't be back but you know...maybe it was just unfortunate that...yea idk. No excuse really. You live and you learn.
