I ordered the ribeye steak and while it was not the typical thick cut steak, it was thin cut, packed with flavor, cooked well, and the portion was huge. The guacamole was fresh and honestly one of the better ones I've had in a while. We also got the chicken nachos which were loaded and easily enough to share. Great value overall with really solid food. The decor honestly is nothing special and could use some work, but once the food came out it completely made up for it. Wow, I had this on the plan and am disappointed that i did not go sooner. This is a must for mexican food, all super authentic, flavorful with good portions. I had the 3 taco combo, shrimp, carnitas and beef. All the meat was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Special shout out the carnitas, marinated and seasoned and cooked with perfection. I also got the rice and beans. Authentic, yumm. The service was great and the staff was super friendly. They share space with grocery/carniceria. Great atmosphere with friendly people. The store and "restaurant " run together. The menu is a large lit sign board that rotates pictures and dishes so fast, it's hard to find what you want. There are no printed menus available so look on line and know what you want. My Barria tacos were excellent. I had one lamb and one beef. Very flavorful authentic flavor and some of the best I've had. My wife's Chicken Chimichanga totally missed the mark. It was filled with rice, some beans, and a little chicken. The tortilla saw very little time in the frying pan and was very soft and doughy. Chips were fresh and the regular cheese dip bowl was plentiful. Good food with big portions at a price point that makes it worth it. Most items I've ordered from here, I definitely could not finish by myself in one sitting, or they're all something to be shared with everyone at the table. Be it their burritos, any items under soup, or their Luis steak fries. I haven't ordered anything that truly disappointed besides perhaps certain tacos, but it's my preference to how I like them. Some menu items are dine-in only, and only those who dine-in get a free basket of chips and salsa. Takeout orders do not come with chips and salsa unless ordered though I personally wouldn't order them myself as they're ok. My few gripes would be how the dine-in area isn't the cleanest and there are some flies that fly around, but that could be avoided if you move to a different table. You can sit wherever in the restaurant portion as Luis Mexican Food and Grill is both an eatery and a grocery store, which is really cool. You could shop and get food here. It's only a little hard when ordering takeout because the place they tell you to wait is a bit in the way of other patrons. Dine-in orders come out pretty fast while takeout does not. My cousin brought me here when I was visiting and it was right up my alley. It is a part grocery store, part restaurant. There are two different registers, one that only does grocery items and the other that does both grocery and the restaurant menu items. It is definitely one business and the staff is so friendly. We ordered restaurant food and then perused the grocery portion, grabbing some fresh pork rinds that are by the pound. From there, we found a large table for our large group in the corner. There is a salsa bar that we partook in with a good selection of items. We snacked on our pork rinds and guacamole that we ordered that was huge. They also gave us chips and kept refilling them. My birria tacos arrived and they were delicious. The size was big and the meat was well marinated. It was a messy meal though for sure! Lots of napkins were used. Most authentic Mexican food I've had outside of Texas and California. Everything is super fresh, full of flavor and always on point. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They also have a grocery area where you can purchase authentic Latino products. Very diverse and reasonably priced. I can always find unique specialty items here that are not available in the regular grocery stores. They also have fresh uncooked proteins you can purchase and cook at home. Came in for lunch on the Tuesday after Memorial Day. As soon as we walked in we had to maneuver around their crates as they were restocking the reach in coolers right by the door. As we walked through the market to get to the order counter, I could tell from the food I saw in the cases that this place was going to be super authentic. We had a party of 5, and we ordered fajitas, tacos, my fiancé had tofu nachos, and a chile relleno. The food was amazing and our server was super sweet as well. They have a small market attached, but it is the food that everyone was there for and after eating dinner there, it was easy to see why. I had a lamb taco and a steak burrito. They also handed me some chips and pointed me to the salsa bar. I will say that I enjoyed the various salsas, but thought that the carrots at the bar was a bit weak. The lamb worked amazing in a traditional taco. This is something that I will be raving about for days to anyone who will listen. They speak mainly Spanish but they're kind of you look out of place lol. This place is definitely the most authentic Mexican food you can get FOR SURE! The best dish they have are the deliciously juicy and succulent birria tacos, but also try the incredibly packed burrito with el pastor, or even the sopas and delicious flan they have. The actually restaurant itself is small, just a few tables for the regulars, but most people get theirs to go, Honestly anything you get at this place is incredible. Lived here since 2011 and would have never found this place without the reviews. It is down a side street off Watson near Home Depot. I am from the pacific NW and am very familiar with authentic Mexican foods. I had the burrito with everything on it, chose a mix of 2 meats, steak and chorizo (menu says Mexican sausage). I also got a drink and some chips. I believe my total was around $11 after tax. Chips were stale and cold . . . . . Salsa was excellent, although some labels would have been nice describing each one, at the very least which is hot and which is not. waiting time was not too bad, the interior of the building did seem pretty "cluttered" with all kinds of things just set on counters or the floor mostly due to what appeared to be a significant portion of the place was not being used. First bite of my burrito was great, the flavors took me back where I am from and reminded me of the trucks at job-sites and the smaller restaurants where the menu was only printed in Spanish. I will be back with my family to have a try at some of the other menu offerings but am very happy to have found a place with a real authentic taste. Almost forgot, this place is way better than Taco's and More Loncheria (on Houston Lake RD), which has gone downhill over the last several years. read more

We have wanted to try this Mexican restaurant for a little while now... All of the reviews are very positive and we have struggled to find very good Mexican food in the Warner Robins area. I will start off with the not so happy issues first... this is not a fancy sitdown restaurant. I repeat, this is not a fancy sitdown restaurant... The biggest complaint we had was not necessarily the service, but the amount of time it took us to get our food. The restaurant was not very busy and may have been understaffed... We ordered two plates of tacos and it took 35 minutes to get our food. I initially asked where our food was about 25 minutes or so after ordering and it still took another 10 minutes or so to get our tacos. The other issue that may set some people off is the lack of a menu with prices on them. We ordered two plates of three tacos each and two large fountain drinks and our bill was $25.50. This seems to be a bit excessive! Lastly, we were given the incorrect change back on our order and had asked for this to be corrected. I'm sure it was an oversight, but felt it was worth mentioning... Now for the good... Actually, great! Our tacos were simply amazing! We had a combination of chicken and steak tacos with the supreme option and they were absolutely delicious. The limes on the side and a delicious salsa / hot sauce bar were a nice touch. They also had some pickled Mexican vegetables that were very tasty too. We will go back and try again based on the quality of the food! Hopefully service and speed will improve next time!
