We visited Sol Azteca with friends on 7/9. We received horrible service- after being told I had a food allergy they still put the ingredient in my food, and we waited over an hour to eat. We were in the restaurant for approximately 2 hours, and by the end of the meal my special needs child was very overstimulated and upset and we were focused on getting her home. My poor husband was flustered because he was worried I would react to the food allergy, and trying to calm my special needs daughter at the same time, and mistakenly never handed the cashier his card. She stood there and watched him sign the (wrong) receipt and didn't say a word. We even waited for our friends to check out behind us, and still nothing was said. To my surprise, I get numerous texts today (7/10 ) that my picture is on Facebook and we have been accused of stealing. With this clearly being an accident (you can see all of the mentioned factors in the video) I just think the situation could have been handled much much better. This whole fiasco also had the potential to affect my husband's job as well as my own business. My husband IMMEDIATELY called to clear up the situation, however after removing the post with our picture on it Sol Azteca made an additional post about the situation. This could have been handled much differently and with so much more grace. They have PERMANENTLY lost our business and I will be warning people about their very uncalled for, immature, antagonistic behaviors when it came to the situation. read more

Finally a Mexican restaurant that I can take my family to while in town. Sol Azteca Mexican Grill is located in the Publix Gun Battle shopping Plaza in Byron, GA. My husband and I decided to give the restaurant a try on a Thursday evening. We were greeted by an amicable staff and seated immediately. The ambiance was casual and comfortable. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Each table gets chips and salsa. The chips were freshly made and the salsa was tasty, it was slightly spicy which is how I like it. We both ordered margaritas I had a medium strawberry and my husband had a peach. We both enjoyed our drinks. For my entrée I had the shrimp fajitas and my meal was delicious, everything tasted fresh and was prepared just right. My husband had the shrimp Tacos, they were simple but good. We had a wonderful experience and can't wait to come back. Prices are reasonable, portions are large and the restaurant was clean. They have a very nice patio which I hope to try out during warmer weather. read more

We were on a roadtrip passing through and looking for a place to stop for dinner. This is only about 2 miles off the highway and it's in a shopping plaza so it's easily accessible. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced, I was honestly shocked at how affordable the entire menu was. Very casual restaurant with indoor seating, a bar, and a patio. The waitress had a great sense of humor which is something we appreciated after sitting in the car all day long. read more

What a great find! Evacuated from FL for Milton and wandered in here for lunch. We ordered a variety and enjoyed it all. Birria Taco Mmmmmm Tamal (1 tamal, 2 tamales) was great Shrimp was excellent in the shrimp taco Combo Fajitas were fine, but we preferred the other items. Queso was nice and smooth! House Frozen was quite tasty as well. We'd be regulars here if we lived closer! read more

First time here, it was a pleasant experience. The front was busy when I first arrived- to go orders, paying and waiting for the hostess all right at the door made it a little cramped but nothing to really take away from the experience. Our server came and got our drink orders. It did take around 15-20 minutes to get our drinks from the bar, which I thought was extensive especially when they weren't super busy. The guac app arrived quicker than the drinks and was large and delicious, easily a shared app. We ordered not long after the drinks arrived. The food was delivered quickly and accurate. We only had one mix up, but it was an allergy issue so it seemed a little careless to make the error. Nothing life threatening so all was well. It was corrected quickly- seemed like maybe it was just taken to the wrong table. The food was good. It was an enjoyable environment but I wasn't wowd. There are a lot of Mexican places around the area, but I can see myself coming here the most. The food here is so good! The chips and salsa are great. The chips aren't super thin, so they hold salsa pretty well without breaking and remain crunchy. The salsa though. It surprisingly had a kick. I'm not sure if they have different salsas because one was spicier than the other, but the spicy one has a gradual build. Nothing too spicy, but I ended up eating a lot more chips and salsa than I normally do. They also have birria tacos and consomme here, and it probably had the most meat I've ever had in a birria taco. And it was tender and flavorful. That's probably something a lot of the dishes here have in common actually. I found a lot of the food here yummy, and the only thing item I wouldn't get again is the molcajete because it's probably an acquired taste and I found it too salty for me. read more

If you're looking for great mexican restaurant, this is it. From the margaritas to the food everything was delicious. We had Mango and the Guava margaritas, and the QuesaBirria tacos. The tacos come as three but it was so good I ate one before the picture lol. Crispy, and cooked to perfection, definitely recommend getting fresh jalapeños if you like it spicy. The food may be good but the service is lousy. I order generally the same thing every time I go but each time it comes out differently! Half the time everything's wrong and you have to get them to go back and do stuff. This last time the waitress was so rude and blamed me for her failure to get the order correct, sadly the manager just backed her up! Best Mexican restaurant! Variety of selections on the menu; I like my fish plate but not the steak plate. Although they had many customers, they still can provide reasonable service. This place was our go-to Mexican restaurant for the last couple of years, but our recent visits have had a sudden shift. Our server was extremely monotone, inattentive to the most basic of needs, and quite frankly rude. I ordered the Birria dinner and was served a beef jerky bone-dry slab of meat below room temperature. Everything my family of 5 ordered was barely warm. The kid's fries were also old and stale. After I mentioned it to our server, she became even more distant and unpleasant. I brought up the issue when we were paying because I was still being charged for the Birria even though I took a different option after the disgusting mess I was served originally. They changed it and asked me why it was disgusting, but did nothing even to attempt to apologize for the situation. I didn't even get a verbal apology. Instead, the woman who was training a new cashier rolled her eyes at me. This place has changed for the worse. Do yourself a favor when choosing a Mexican restaurant in the area: drive into Warner Robins (105 Bowling Dr B), and eat at Luis Mexican Food and Grill. I had the Steak Alhambre with smoky bacon, onions and peppers alongside really good refried beans, decent rice and some good quality flour tortillas. While we have plenty of "American" Mexican choices in town, this is our favorite. I love that you can also request dishes to be fixed "Mexican style". We visit about once a week and almost always have a great experience. The only complaints I have are the cheese and the plates. The cheese on some of the dishes is shredded and doesn't melt well. I prefer the melted cheese. When they first opened they would put it instead of the shredded, but then started charging way too much for it. Also, several times I've received cold food on a hot plate. Other than that, we haven't had any negative experiences. It's one of the few places in town with whole chile peppers for the chili relleno. Many places have just a sliver of pepper. The tamales are delicious and the masa isn't too thick. The steak is also pretty good. The Mexican style tacos are one of my favorites. We will continue to visit Sol Azteca and recommend it to others. read more
