The ONLY reason why I decided to take the risk trying her out. I am very picky on the style of the cut and who does it. Even though at first I told her I wanted her to recommend me how she would want to cut it. I can tell she heisted in which why I gave her small guidelines. Even when I told her the length I wanted it to be she STILL heisted. I don't like hairstylists not being pleased on giving full range what they want to do with my hair. Even though I am pretty picky, I can be extremely laid back. Yes, I know I just contradicted myself since she had experience but was still young. I was sure she wasn't going to mess up my hair. Once again I am disappointed in myself for getting a basic cut but I had no choice she just looked at my hair and that was that. Look, I get it...some stylists don't like when you sit in their chair have no clue the style they want. But I wasn't clueless. I wanted her to have fun. Based on what she was telling me on how long my hair was and tired she was I would think free-range cutting would let her have fun. That wasn't the case at all. My bad.... I was going to give her another chance and help raise it a four star review that was until she mentioned a really cheap jab towards me. I gave you free-range you didn't take it! Not my fault, my dear. Next time I will make sure to have the exact hairstyle if I ever do come back. Ohhhhh wait!!! I won't be coming back. Because you lacked any creativity and any texture skills.

Well, after this experience I would have to say that sometimes it isn't worth cheating on your stylist. I didn't have good experience as far as personal touches with conversation.. which I appreciate during salon services. One major thing was her very blunt cuts. I like edge and texture, it just was not delivered. Though I would say, she is okay for basic cuts if you are not picky. I would not recommend for bangs at all. Stay true to your stylists, ladies. A good one is always hard to find!

Very easy to get an appointment just about any time. I believe he may have come in that day just for me. Always does steller highlights and spectacular eyebrow waxing for me. And when summer comes around he is always more than willing to chop all the handywork off when I ask for my yearly summer cut! Love the furnature and sitting area here. I called and left a message for an appointment for my attendance at a Fashion show the same evening. Thankfully, they were able to get me in for a haircut / blow-dry / flat iron. Thanks to Jenny's handiwork, and allowing me to change into my outfit for the soire - I was in and out and on my way to the Newberry in record time. I got SO . MANY . COMPLIMENTS on my look tonight -- I felt like a rockstar! I have been going here for several months now. Jenny's my stylist and GOODNESS she is amazing! She has a sign over her station that says "I'm a beautician, not a magician", don't be fooled! She's very modest! I happened upon this little gem when I was living in Lincoln Park, due to it's close proximity to my apartment at the time. It's a small, unassuming shop not far from the Wellington stop on the EL. Jenny is fairly new to the neighborhood as I am to Chicago, and our conversations are always diverse as well as lively. There's a little terrier in residence who belongs to Michelle - the Owner of the shop. She's a dear and very friendly. My favourite bit of decor in this quaint little shop is a clock which hangs on the wall near Jenny's station -- with the hands in their usual place; the numbers are in a jumble at the bottom of the clock. above the numbers it says "whatever" It makes me smile every time I think about it. I understand people have different reactions given your eyes shouldn't be constantly tampered with as the eyelash application consists of. She practically sealed my eye shut with adhesive and used little precaution to prevent this. The release of the lashes from the pad shouldn't require so much force and this is most likely the reason they are giving me trouble post application. The quality of her products are terrible for the price she charges and she is clearly inexperienced. I would not recommend her to anyone and highly suggest taking your business elsewhere !!!!

Two other people were there and saw the final job and said it looks great (neither were there at the end...no one saw it but Carrie and myself). I don't think this salon is the right fit for you, this is the first time we have such a complaint." I told her I can send her pictures, she said okay. Waiting to hear back...I wanted to post pictures but not sure how to do it. I did on my FB page for friends as we discussed this and the main comment was, "They should pay you double for what it'll cost to not only fix this but the damage your hair will probably incur in the process." Thanks for not only doing a terrible job but making it sound like I'm the problem. After I sent her the pictures, the owner called me several hours later and said the pictures were "unclear" and that she's not refunding me the money and if I want to take it further I can (?). I told her that's fine, I didn't authorize to be charged without the promise of a redo and had I known I wouldn't get a refund if they couldn't fulfill their promise, I wouldn't have paid. She told me okay, to come by the salon right then so she can "run fingers through the hair" and I said sure! She hung up the phone on me. My husband called her back and nicely said the same thing: that he's sitting right next to me and it does look terrible at the top and that we can come as she recommended. To which she replied, "let me ask you, are you a color expert? no? then your opinion doesn't matter to me. Do not come here, I don't want to see you near here. If you file a dispute I'll take you to small claims court." We were shocked that it got so out of control. To further the insanity, half an hour later we get a call from our local police! The owner showed up there to have them call us to not show up! We asked the police what is going on and explained the situation - that we never threatened them nor said anything to even make it sound like we were going to be there. The police officer just said that we didn't do anything wrong and that he just had to call because they came there but there's nothing to be done. Yes, me at 9 months pregnant and my husband on our way with our toddler to visit my parents' house were going to do something to the salon? This was THE most crazy situation we've ever dealt with...

I highly recommend Fusion Hair Salon…read more Prior to going to Fusion, I was going to a discount hair salon, where the results were uneven at best. Even if I found a stylist there I liked and asked for her every time I went, they would never remember how they cut my hair from time to time. I was walking by Fusion one day and decided to give it a try. I have been going there ever since. The haircuts are very good, they remember exactly how they cut my hair from time to time, ask how I like the haircut and if there is anything they can change about it. While decidedly more expensive than the discount hair salons, the results are definitely worth the price.
