Lots of choices of delicious Dominican fare. Service was OK. Smoked Pork Chops were delicious. Yellow Rice has veggies in it, and the Black Beans were so good. I'm not a big Beans person, but these were delicious. Hubby was disappointed that it was very liquidity, almost soup like, but that is how I prefer it LOL Oxtail was flavorful and tender. Again, Red Beans were too liquid for hubby's taste, but I loved it. hehehe We found this restaurant because they opened a new location in Lodi, just as good. But it's a small location, so there no sit-down space, which is why we came here to sit and eat.

Love this spot for take out when visiting family in Bergenfield. Taste like its home cooked, simple, savory. Service is quick, price is reasonable & servings are large. Been here a few times and has not been dissapointed yet.

I've been wanting to try this place out for a really long time. I finally was given a chance today. I ordered the mangu and tres gropes. The food was good. The reason why I'm not giving this establishment four stars is because the customer service. The staff that was working made me feel unwelcome, anytime I ask a question or added something to my order. It seemed like I was bothering them. They also forgot to give me my coffee.

Delicious Spanish food, For the amount of food you get, you feel like you're getting a deal. Not to mention it smells and taste like someone's mom made it. I had ground beef with vegetables, rice and beans, and some Maduros. Service was quick, the ambiance is nice, but when I came there was food left on the table from a previous party (didn't see anyone leave when I walked in) and the wind may have brought some debris. Other than that, it was nice and bright

I've been coming to this location for about 4 years and every item I've had is delicious. From the shrimp ceviche to the beef empanadas and everything in between is cooked to perfection. They always have food readily prepared so you could get in and out within 5 minutes as long as there's not a long line. Even their desserts that they have are amazing. I usually take my food to go but you can also eat in if you choose. I'm a big fan of the oxtails and the mofongo. It's delicious.

Food is decent, they got tables to stay for a meal but service is different based on you having to go to counter to tell them what you want opposed as to the waiter coming to you to take your order. Food took too long to come out for something as simple as mofongo, about 45 mins but then again, they have a lot of pickup orders, so will not be surprised if my order got lost in translation until I went to question if order was coming up anytime soon. Place is BYOB, so thats a saving. Will I comeback now that I know the ways they work, Sure if Im in the area.

DO NOT ORDER FOOD FOR DELIVERY!!! I've been eating here for years. What happened today is totally unacceptable. I ordered a lunch special along with 2 tripe soups. When I received the order, one soup container was cracked and the other was open. The soup was in the bag and not in the container. It was a disaster!! Yes, I ordered it from DoorDash and the driver was partly at fault. The driver told me that's how he received it. He should have told them while he was there. However, as a regular customer who has catered there numerous times and was literally going to call in an order next week for a big party, The least they could have done was offer me a replacement. Even if they told me to come get it I would have done it. Instead they chose to be cheap and say "sorry we are not responsible and you have to take it up with DoorDash." Crappy way to deal with a customer over $10. This has happened at other local restaurants such as Mis Raices in Teaneck and they quickly apologized and corrected the mistake. So instead, Lulas chooses to lose a loyal customer, a catering order, a terrible review and the risk of the customer telling everyone he knows, AVOID THIS PLACE!!!

Food was very mediocre. Had the chicken stew and there was no stew. Also, the rice was pretty dry.

Great food, not too expensive, simple fare. They definately need more staff but service was good. Very crowded during mealtimes.

One thing I do know is that I definitely didn't get the chicharrón or the pernil. Once we walked in, the host seated us at an open table. The restaurant is pretty spacious, with music playing in the background. I also noticed a DJ booth, so I'm guessing it gets pretty lively at night. I ended up ordering the daily special, the Pernil al Horno ($15), which came with white rice and beans. The pernil was topped with crispy pork skin, which I really appreciated. It was juicy, flavorful, and the crispy skin added the perfect crunch to every bite. My friend ordered the chicharrón, and it was awesome. It wasn't overly fatty, just the right balance of meat, fat, and crispy skin. Every bite had the perfect combination of crunch and flavor. I'll definitely be back for the chicharrón, as a snack or a full meal. If you're a fan of chicharrón, I highly recommend giving this place a try. * Parking on premise * Outdoor dining available

However, every time I visit this place I can clearly say I truly enjoy my meal. You also can get a cold beer for about 6 dollars which is reasonable compared to other places. The issue is they make some things really well and maybe others not so great. I always eat a few things I know they make well. After all you don't order a filet at a fried chicken joint. Today I visited after being disappointed at the Freakin Rican spot on Cedar lane. See that review for details. I went by Elsa's and ordered some Mofongo with their famous Chicharones and it was delicious. Perfectly seasoned and paired with some delicious sauce that was perfect. My wife had oxtails with rice and beans and they were delicious too! We enjoyed a couple of really cold beers each and our bill was only around 60 dollars. The place has a really relaxing atmosphere and the service was good. I had to battle with a couple of knats but it just added to the entertainment, lol! The place could use some remodeling and cleaning but at least they consistently serve me good food at a great price. If you go there just temper your expectations. It reminds me of a roadside eatery in the islands which always serves good food but you have to battle with some bugs. Lmao!

The inside of the restaurant is decently sized, clean, and even has a space where you can host a DJ, which is a nice touch. There was a slight language barrier, but it wasn't a big issue. I waited about 5-10 minutes for my to-go order since the hostess/server was the only one working outside of the kitchen staff. I ordered the MOFONGO MIXTO (Mixed Mofongo), which is crispy green plantains mashed with garlic and olive oil, paired with chicharrón, chicken, or cheese. It was solid--rich, tasty, and especially delicious with the salsa blanco, which was creamy and garlicky. That sauce was a first for me, and I loved it! While I've had mofongo that included rice and beans elsewhere, this version stood on its own nicely. A couple of notes: parking is a bit challenging, and I'd recommend placing your order through an app to help navigate any potential language barriers. Overall, a good experience, and I'd definitely give it another shot!

It is a family run establishment and having just opened, the place is super clean and super modern. There is a good amount of seating, so they can accommodate a large group easily. They are open late and on certain days, they have a DJ and the place turns into a club. The food was extremely fresh and is home cooked style. The chivo guisado was extremely juicy and the meat was so tender - falling off the bone. The pico pollo was great too and very well seasoned. Portions sizes were generous with very reasonable prices too. The staff are very friendly too. It's a nice place to come and enjoy some authentic Dominican food with some bottles of Presidente or cocktails. I recommend giving them a try. You will not be disappointed.
