We drove from the west side of Ireland toward the end of our 3 weeks trip in Ireland, and it was very nice relax ending to our trip. Restaurant: We dined at both restaurants: Fairways restaurant (upstairs, more formal) and Brasserie Bar (downstairs, casual). Fairways dinner was delicious. Every choice is good, and wish we were able to try out each of the dishes. I'd say most of the guests were dressed up and more formal, but some are dressed in leggings and tees. Also the view of the 18th green from the window seat was really beautiful especially in the morning. Brasserie serves more casual meals like burgers and appetizers, after golf and snacks. We enjoyed both restaurants. Golf course: Very well maintained, parkland style 18 hole golf course. Beautiful views of hills and lakes, and it is very rash and green. Fairways are mildly generous with some challenges around the greens. We enjoyed chatting with some local players in between holes. Be prepared to lose some balls! Once I miss the fairway, my ball was gone. I know where the ball had gone, but just couldn't find them. The lady at the pro shop was very friendly and helpful. The only downside was they were having some issue with water while we were staying there. The hotel provided bottled waters and you can ask for more bottles, but when showering and washing face using faucet, flushing toilets, the water comes out brown and it was not too pleasant. Hopefully they'll fix whatever the water issue they're experiencing soon.

We called for service and waited an hour. When I called again for an update we were told it would be quite a while. I then called the hotel to see if there's anyway that they could possibly come and pick up my partner. I spoke to a lovely woman at the hotel and she told me she would call me right back. Just a few short minutes later she called to say that Mick was on his way. I intended to wait with the car and wanted to get my partner to safety and comfort. Mick refused to leave me and gathered both us and our luggage and took us to the hotel promising a return ride to the car when the service man arrived. When we arrived at the hotel everyone was warm and caring. They checked us in to an absolutely beautiful room with a stunning view. When we arrived at a room Nick was waiting there with ice cold beverages to quench our thirst. When the car repair man was there Mitch Trudo is where I drove me back. When I finally ride back to the hotel we freshened up and went for dinner. The food was absolutely delicious the service was wonderful. As this was our first day, The punctured tire and sitting by the side of the road for a while could've affected our vacation. Mitch and this hotel staff were absolutely instrumental in turning that around. Their warmth and hospitality went above and beyond. Not that easy to find if you haven't been before. Acres of free parking with the 1st floor restaurant in the main terminal building overlooking the ramp and runway. The restaurant, recently rebranded as Derbys but looks the same to me, was quiet as was the field. My companion ordered the full Irish and I asked for scrambled eggs on/in toast (see below) His breakfast was the usual mix of sausage, bacon, egg, mushrooms and beans. My eggs were something else. I'd never had a scrambled egg sandwich before with a handful of crisps on the side. Peculiar to say the least. The server put it down to my saying scrambled egg IN toast as opposed to scrambled egg ON toast. Nope, me either. That said, a perfectly adequate repast accompanied by plenty of coffee and good chat passed a pleasant hour or so. Whilst I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, it's not bad and a reasonable fuel stop.

The staff I encountered were all very friendly. The hotel itself is large, very well maintained. There are a number of function rooms and larger ballroom for weddings etc. The food we had on the night was excellent and again the friendly service was great. I was able to buy 3 pints for the price I pay for 2 here in Dublin so I would count that as a bonus. I doubt I would ever have the need to return but certainly if was in the area I would.

Geraldine is the staff member that provides us with outstanding customer service but all staff are equally easy to deal with. We always book our transatlantic flights through them and they often end up being cheaper and with shorter layovers than anything I could get online. A really great travel agent.

The good things were that the staff were all very friendly, the food at the restaurant was not too expensive and quite tasty with big portions, and the showers were nice. They also supplied basic toiletries, a kettle with coffee, tea and biscuits, and the wifi was pretty good. The negatives were that the hotel is quite old so I found the rooms to be quite cold and the carpet was a bit dirty. The cleaning staff also don't seem to hover when they clean your room, only between guests. Also, there's no mini fridge but at least there is a hair dryer and TV. The breakfast was pretty nice albeit basic. It's not a buffet so you have to order exactly what you want, but they have the usual things like eggs (poached, fried, scrambled, boiled etc. ), full Irish, cereals, fruit yoghurt etc. The coffee was also pretty good. They have a hot carvery and deli bar at lunch, and the restaurant is open for dinner until around 9pm. The hotel is quite convenient in that it's really near the shopping area and Trim castle as well as Apple green petrol station. If you drive, you can use the gym and leisure facilities at the Knightsbrook hotel for free which has a pool, gym, golf court and sauna. Otherwise, Aura leisure centre is only a 6 minute walk away and costs only 5 euro to use the gym. Overall, basic but maintains quality and standard. Rooms are around 145 euro/ night with breakfast.

It certainly isn't over-the-top and tacky, rather it is a perfect balance of functional and refined. The staff is very friendly and efficient. They attended to our every need with the courtesy and graciousness you should expect. The conservatory, where breakfast and the initial reception was held, was very warm and comfortable. Separated from the bar for privacy, but close enough to where you had access. Upstairs, the ballroom facility was fantastic. It definitely was not like similar hotels which featured "conference rooms" and passed them off as reception areas. No, this was different - a proper ballroom with a bar, wooden floors, and beautiful lighting. A private balcony for smokers and a private WC was also available. The food was tasty and filling. It was not your typical catered food, but rather was of quality and flavour. I was filled and satisfied. The rooms themselves were very nice. Comfortable bedding, nice facilities, and reasonably priced. The full Irish breakfast that came with the room was gorgeous, especially the black pudding. I can't reiterate enough how attentive the managers and serving staff were. Always polite, discreet, and eager to please. Price-wise this could not be beat. Seriously. They definitely want your business and have a proper attitude as to who the customer is. While many contemporary hotels seem to act as if they are doing you a favour and are eager to squeeze every last Euro out of you - the Castle Arch has a much more fair and respectable approach. Their prices were significantly less expensive then their contemporaries and the quality of the facilities and service were certainly higher. The savings on price will not require a sacrifice in outcome or result. I'm seriously impressed. With elegance and class they treat you, the customer, like a king. I couldn't recommend them enough for negotiating a wedding, 21st, anniversary party, or Christmas party.

We had a difficult time coming up with adequate words to describe Broadmeadow Country House. I…read morethink our 22 year old said it best on her Facebook page, "I've found Heaven and it's in Ireland at Broadmeadow Country House". From the moment we stepped inside and were greeted by owner, Sandra Duff, we knew our hope of finding our perfect Irish getaway for years to come had been found. We immediately felt at home and settled into our beautifully appointed room, complete with meadow view of grazing horses from the 40+ horse farm housed on the property. The beds were wonderful and the closet and dressers were beautiful antiques. The in-house spa treatments were some of the best we've experienced and were so reasonable, we almost felt the pricing must be wrong. Both Paul and Sandra were over the top gracious hosts, knowing just how to be accommodating, but also giving us our space to the point we felt it was truly our home for a week. Breakfasts were authentic, plentiful and always on time and we never felt rushed as we sat in the bright dining room overlooking the expansive grounds. On our last day, we had to depart the home at 5am, and were so pleased to find a fresh pot of coffee and warm toast and bagels ready to go, what a thoughtful gesture! Not wanting to see Ireland as a tourist, we had some unusual requests for our hosts, i.e. finding a fox hunt for us to experience. Without any hesitation, they found a local Irish family, not more than 10 minutes away that welcomed us into their home and treated us like family and allowed us to join in all the festivities of their pre-hunt as we saw the hunters, horses, and hounds off! Because we brought along a GPS with Ireland maps, we were able to enter all of the location coordinates, which made our many adventures by car easy, including taking us right there.

How do you grade a train station? Ok.. lemme think…read more. 1. Access. There are LOADS of car parking spaces. Definite plus. But you have to pay for them if you're leaving your car there all day. Minus. It's in the middle of nowhere and there's TONS of room. Why charge for carparking? Bad. 2. Easy transport onwards - at busy times there is a local taxi bus that takes people into Celbridge. 3. Umm.. speed? It's only about 12 mins into Heuston. That is whopper by anyone's standard. 4. Staff. The lovely lady behind the counter called a taxi for me before when I got the train times wrong, and even negotiated a rate for me. Legend!
