I personally have never returned anything without a receipt and on time. Suddenly they said I couldn't return a DEFECTIVE purse, ordered online, with receipt. I DID NOT get a verbal warning. In the past couple of years I shopped for my elderly grandmother, my two kids, myself, my husband so maybe use some critical thinking skills when you look at a list of returns......maybe they are for multiple people in a family. I admit, I did things like purchase 10 pairs of shoes so my 95 year old grandma could find a pair that were comfortable. I did the same for clothes. I told the cashiers exactly what I was doing. I also admit I returned 9 pairs of shoes and multiple items of clothing and explained to the cashier why. My grandma can't go to the store like so many others that are home bound, so congratulations you have made it harder for the elderly to get things they need from your company!! Shameful! I also did the same for my mom who had Alzheimers. Some of my returns were because I received dirty and /or defective stuff from orders online. Lack of packaging is why for most. Delicate items like bras came snagged and dirty thrown in a box. I received sizes I did not order. Do you expect me to keep wrong sizes? I did order some things on accident because the items were in my cart. My bad! I pointed all of this out when I returned the items. How exactly are we to shop online without having returns when the store doesn't have it to try on or to look at colors and styles? I am now stuck with a DEFECTIVE purse. How is this even a business tactic? Who would think it is a good idea to not allow valid returns abiding by the company policy? Customers won't go back concerned it will happen because no guidelines are provided. Kohls refuses to tell customers how many VALID returns are allowed which is extremely unethical. I did the dispute process which is a joke. Kohls confirmed I had too many returns. How many is too many.....no one will ever know. Are you forcing customers to keep merchandise to increase revenue? That is sure what it seems like because I am not a criminal or committing fraud.

I ordered the product online and picked it up at the Coralville Kohls location. My order was ready for pickup 1 hr and 34 minutes later. I was excited! I told the guy to place it in my back seat. I went home and placed the box near my door. After eating dinner and relaxing for a bit, I noticed the box was disfigured. On one side it wasn't professionally packaged. The box seemed like it had been used or ripped open before. My gut instinct was, "please god, don't let this be a used product!" It sure was. I was angry and so many emotions ran through my head. I could not believe it! I started opening the box to find the whole product not professional wrapped or organized in the box. It looked like someone used the product and placed it into a big bag and stuffed it into the box. The Dyson cleaner head had human hair and debris attached to it. The body of the vacuum looked used and not clean. The Dyson bin had dirt and other filthy stuff in it. I couldn't unravel everything as I was totally disgusted and pissed off. This product was a lot of money and they gave me a used one. This was BAD customer service. I called Coralville Kohls location since that was where I picked up the item. I told them they gave me a used product. The guy said they couldn't exchange the item because the store was closed and I could return it when the store opened (which was pending b/c of COVID19). I told them, they were quick to accept my money for the purchase, why couldn't they exchange it for a different one. I got nowhere and they were not empathetic to the situation- another sign of bad customer service. They didn't apologize on behalf of Kohls when this product was at fault. I then tried customer service support online and on the phone (the Kohls corporate number), which both took over 30 minutes to get a person. The online support took 32 minutes and the phone representative took 44 minutes. The online support woman reiterated the same statement as the Coralville guy about returning the item when the store opened. Her responses were really slow, like 5 minutes to respond. This was another example of bad customer service from an online feature. It was a long wait to get a representative online, and then they reply slowly. It was also difficult for her to provide clear and understandable answers. The woman on the phone ended up hanging up after being on for 4 minutes. I had to wait 25 minutes to get someone on the phone again. Whether it's a faulty phone system or rudeness, it's still bad customer service. This time around, it was a different woman and she helped a lot. She was able to send a UPS guy to pick up the product and then issue a refund on the product. I was happy that we started the process of issuing a refund. May 6th, 2020 was the 10th business day since Kohls received the product (doesn't include shipping/receiving which was 3 business days) and quarantine was still taking place. I still didn't receive my refund of $423.99. I called customer service and waited 42 minutes. The guy stated that my refund wasn't completely done so it never went through. I was really upset. He put in a new request and said he would flag it so the reimbursement people can see it and process it quickly. I received my refund three days later. Through this experience, I've learned that Kohls customer service sucks and they don't put the customer first. They can improve their customer service by addressing some of the topics I mentioned above and the wait time. Also, shame on the Coralville Kohls staff who took advantage of a customer during the pandemic. I hope no one has to endure this type of experience.

They've got the big brands like: Patagonia, Marmot, North Face, Columbia, etc. When it comes to apparel that will withstand a trip to the Alps (or who are we kidding, a January in Iowa City :D) they've got you covered! Five floors of retail ranging from -- apparel, footwear and equipment. Items for boating, fishing, cycling, skiing, running, golfing, hunting, climbing-- almost anything you could do outdoors, they have something for. For as much as they have in the store, you'd expect it to the be cluttered. But it is very easy to get around and find what you're looking for. They did a great job organizing items and utilizing each floor of space. (*There are a lot of stairs! You've been warned.*) I can't say I frequent here often, but when I do-- I leave with what I came for. Pricing is fair but I honestly go straight to the sale rack when I'm here. (I've always been a fan of the sidewalk sales during the summer. Always finding a new pair of shoes at a great price!) Staff is VERY knowledgeable and welcoming. The location is stellar, with the ramp right across the street.

For example - last winter I spilled battery acid all over my NorthFace winter jacket - the kind that goes down to your ankles. BUT it happened just late enough in the winter that Active Endeavors was gearing up for one of their annual sales, and guess what? I got a replacement jacket for nearly 50 percent off. Huzzah! It was a win for me because I got a new coat, and I had the opportunity to support a local business, which I love doing. Active Endeavors also has a killer shoe selection - I'm not sure if people know this, but it's worth checking out!

How have I never reviewed Scheels?…read more I am grateful to have this location. With two kiddos that are active in a lot of sports, Scheels has come to the rescue a time or two. (Specifically, when I realized my son didn't have an adequate batting helmet for baseball mere hours before his first game of the season. I was able to order online and pickup no problem. He is insanely proud of his golden helmet, might I add.) This location expanded during the pandemic and has a ton! Hunting, biking, fishing, skiing,... a robust Iowa Hawkeye apparel section... shoes, apparel-- you name it! Honestly, my favorite spot to shop Scheels is online. I got some amazing Fornia clothes on clearance. My blazer I got is legit one of my favorite things and I spent less than $10-- what a steal! I also got some great Mud Pie Christmas decor super cheap online. It's open daily, parking is a non-issue. Staff is always so friendly and knowledgable. As I mentioned above, don't forget to order online easily for pickup.

When we came in, we had a few employees greet us and smile as they saw our little girl (honestly it's hard to be in a bad mood when you sees you because she is so cute and will turn your bad day into a much better one). Not expecting to really purchase anything in particular, we just walked around the store and browsed. This location sells Iowa University clothing, that can be found on the first floor. There is also a mascot statue of Herky The Hawk by the clothing section (an older version of this mascot). Upstairs, you can find rifles, binoculars, etc. But most importantly the dog section, in which our little girl was very excited to lead us to (although this is our first time visiting this location, she just knew where her section is). We let her choose what item she would like for us to buy her, which ended up being a resealable bag of dried salmon dog treats. At the register downstairs, this friendly employee had asked if our dog had picked out this item herself, lol. We laughed about it, as we told him yes she did. Overall, had a great shopping experience and would shop here regularly if I lived around this area.

(Message boards, earrings, car coasters, notepads, water bottles, etc!) Service here has always been friendly and helpful. They're open 10-9p, almost on the daily. And with Yonkers having closed its doors, this is a great option at the mall for young ladies! There's a handful of these chain boutiques in the state of Iowa but this is the only one I've frequented. I either wear a very common size, or they only receive 2 of my size per style to begin with and don't restock very often. JC Penney has a petites section, which I take advantage of. I have shorts legs and very large thighs, so this department is a saving grace. Again, sizes can really be picked over if you're a 6-8. I find this to be the case at the Edgewood Rd. location in nearby Cedar Rapids, too. I visited the location at Coral Ridge Mall today for undergarments. Specifically, shapewear. Very picked over in this area, but I did find something that will work. Finding an open dressing room was another story. Most of them are closed, so you might have to wait to try things on. Customer service has always been outstanding here, albeit hard pushes for their credit card. Today I was asked twice about saving 30%. I finally had to respond by saying, "I don't use credit cards." I know employees are only doing their job, but saying 'no' once is all it should take. Store is typically clean and tidy, at least through the week when I shop. Merchandising hasn't changed at the Coral Ridge Mall location since my visit a month ago. Displays and inventory all looked the same. Nothing new caught my eye in the women's clothing departments. It appears that once they've stocked for the season, that's it. I spent several years in retail, so maybe this is just more noticeable to me. A do have a complaint as far as a company policy is concerned: any rebates you earn (say around Black Friday) are given to you via a Visa debit card. These Visa cards have a very short period of time in which they can be used. I received a rebate card of $10 in December and the card expired in June of 2022. 6 months is not long.
