I came in for free pants hemming but needed them done before a trip in two weeks. (Estimated turn around for hemming is currently 2-3 weeks.) Lisa saw that we actually had regular length pants when there were short styles available. She exchanged my pants on the spot since they were available in-store, and did an exchange for my husband and ordered the shorter version for home delivery so that we could get them both shortened in less than half the time it would have taken to get them hemmed. You come to an establishment with no greetings you need to find someone to help you while everyone walks around hanging cloths or sitting in the back of the store. Another good trip to lululemon. I wondered why their phone message mailbox was full. I found out when I saw a line at register and about 15 people looking around. They're busy! I asked for help with shoes. People were busy so the Manager helped me- she knew about their products, could tell me how I might like one or another. She was right. She helped me look at pants- I need some badly but not the colors they have- I'll try back later. The 3 pairs pants I got 8 or more years ago still hold up well but I need forest pine green ones now. I am an avid Lululemon fan, but I'm also an Oregonian, so I'm spoiled when it comes to sales tax. Because of this, I avoid shopping in Washington when I can. This store is an exception. I visit Seattle multiple times a year and twice I've ended up at this store. Both times, I have been met with the kindest people! On my most recent visit, I got to chatting with Terry, a sweet woman who greeted my boyfriend & I at the door. We talked about football and discovered that we're both originally from the same very small town (about a 6-7 hour drive from the store we were standing in.) She was so lovely to talk to & very personable. We asked a couple questions about some clothing items & she was incredibly helpful. Although we only popped in to window shop while we were killing time, we left with some hoodies & tshirts - all thanks to her great service. The hoodie is made of the most luxurious material & feels like it will last a lifetime! My boyfriend got some of the airing-easy shirts for golf. On those, the quality is great but make sure to size up if you're ordering online as they run a bit small. The women who rung us up was just as pleasant & conversational as Terry, but unfortunately I didn't catch her name! I know I could get the same products at my home store for much cheaper (about 10% less, considering the sales tax,) but I really didn't mind splurging just for the pleasant experience. read more

We have shopped at Lululemons in Orlando, San Jose, Sacramento, Scottsdale, Victoria and the flagship store in Vancouver, Canada. The clothes wash well and are well made with quality fabrics. I used to love this location since it's the most convenient to me. They always seem to be a bit quicker than the Kirkland location with getting alterations back. However, the last times I have been here to get alterations done, it has been very bad. It seems like some of the staff are very new and don't know how to get the alterations done. I had a straight forward hem on some align shorts. I always get them to the 4" length and don't need to try them on or anything. The staff simply measures it and marks it and then sends me on my way. This most recent time, the staff said "okay" then sent me off. When I got my alteration back, my shorts were still 6-8" in length, clearly not what I asked for. I took them back, and had to wait ~15 min as the staff struggled to mark the hem of someone else's leggings. When they finally could help me, I brought in a pair of shorts hemmed at the right length and asked that they correct my shorts. They admitted they didn't know what to do (which I appreciate they owned up to it) and asked a couple of other staff members until someone could. They marked up my shorts and then sent me on my way. Then when I went to go pick them up, apparently they didn't hem it at all. The pin was still in my shorts. This time, the staff member seemed more experienced and said she would ensure it gets hemmed correctly. Wish me luck. Aside from that bad experience, I do appreciate the staff is always so friendly. The store has decent stock though their sale selection isn't as good as other lulu stores I frequent. My tips: * Don't go here during busy times. If you can, the weekdays are great, even in the evening. * If it seems like the staff doesn't know what they are doing for your hem, consider coming in a different time (not the weekend perhaps) or consider another store. It's pretty straightforward here if you are familiar with this brand, as intended for high end products. It's always in order. Clean and well organized by sizes and colors , and styles. There's a section for women and a separate section for men. From my experiences, they do lasts a long while. I order on-line much more than walking in the stores. I like to look at sales first to see if I fancy anything under "we made too much" besides, I already know my size and style. It usually work's out for me when buying on-line. They have great sales also on some accessories such as: backpacks, socks and undies too. Some stores will allow exchanges if I bought on-line and if I'm not quite happy with the fit. For a store with such a high star rating I'm surprised I received 0 customer service when I came in yesterday evening. Not even a "hello, can I help you find a size", nothing. And I saw plenty of employees folding their $100 sweaters on a table. I was actually looking at those sweaters and was completed ignored. I wandered around the store for maybe 20 minutes, pulled some pieces that looked interesting, helped myself to a dressing room bc again, no one made an effort to assist me. The only time someone said anything to me was when I paid- and even that exchange was cold and impersonal. I spent over $300 yesterday and I can't say this Lululemon deserves my money. I live close to u village, so it is convenient for me to come to this lululemon vs. other locations. However, the customer service the last 5-7 times I have gone in has been so bad that it makes me want to drive out of my way or simply order online to make purchases from now on. The employees have a very arrogant and snobby vibe whenever I come in. It seems like no one wants to help me when I need help and some have even been rude when I show my work badge for the nurse discount. I have never experienced this service at other lululemon stores, but to say my recent experiences have been negative with the u village store would be an understatement. I have been a long time lululemon wearer. Ever since I got my first pair in my sophomore year of high school I have lived in them. However, recently the new "recipe" for the basic legging is terrible. Not only do they not feel soft, but they do not stay up and are constantly sliding down my legs when I walk. They rip so easily. I have snagged the leggings several times. I have also exchanged the same pair three times in the hopes for the pair being a malfunction. This is a BIG Lulu (changed locations a few doors down now). But, you can basically get anything from any Lulu because they can just get it from another store. The selection is expansive, but the Downtown location seems to have more sale selection. The sales people weren't especially friendly. Anyway, I LOVE most of their stuff. When did this get to the U Village? Chatted with some of the super friendly associates and they shared that this location is 1 of 8 experiential stores in the country. This is a partial experiential store, but I can spend a good amount of time here. They've got a great mix of athletic, casual, or combo of the two occasions. I love that their accessories don't have huge logos. Even their leggings and shirts mix well so I'm not competing with committing to a sole brand outfit. Mix it up with Adidas shoes or Nike without judgement Just kidding, but had to add that for some of the brand police that call you out for not completely matching. The dressing rooms being open and the center of the store is a new space use concept for me. Pretty cool, welcoming, and ease of movement to try on stuff. Doesn't make it a hassle to get to the back like most stores. Towards the back, they sell Frankie and Joe's vegan ice cream and local products like soaps, floral/herb scent items, cute gifts, etc. there's an eating space back there to enjoy your ice cream. They have workouts in the studio in the back past their all gender restrooms. They offer your first free week of workout classes that span barre, yoga, boot amp, total body burners, etc. After that, they have different packages available. As a bikram yoga lover, their clothes are just way more comfortable than just a regular pair of shorts and a t-shirt. From the stretchy clothes, to help with maximum flexability when performing yoga poses, to quick drying materials so that you're not cold when walking out of the studio. I have not spent $100 on running pants. I like to keep it in the $30 range. I have not purchased a jacket with a "zipper garage", I just want a built in pocket for my iPod. Nice store with really nice staff. Are the pants worth the $98 pricetag? NO. As an apparel designer, I know what garments should cost to make... and these, my friends, are not $100 pants. While they're well made with fabrications using silver ion (keeps you cool when it's warm/ warm when it's cool) technology (their's is Sliverescent) and a nylon/ lycra blend (them: Luon) I found the mark ups here astounding. Lululemon has found a niche and good on them for doing so. I have lots of friends who raaaave about the pants here. But because I know what goes into knit garments like these, I just can't get over the prices. One thing I can appreciate is the range of lengths in their pants. While absolutely none of the pants looked good on me (they claim to be the booty pant- they just gave me way more than I already have) the staff was very polite and helpful and let me know that hemming is available and free of charge for the life of the pant. If you have lots of money to spend on yoga apparel, this may very well be the place to do it. I just can't buy into spending 'that' much for pants. lululemon is EVERYWHERE! I can't tell you how many times I've seen that logo on a woman's (and occassionally a man's) leg. I am always in the market for work out clothes and I have heard nothing but rave reviews of the clothes lululemon produces but I knew it was expensive and my heart would implode if I spent that amount of money on any item of clothing. That soon changed when my very generous employer gave me a gift card for Christmas. The store in University Village isn't a superstore but it manages the space well. There are clothes all along the walls, up and down. Every square inch is occupied with attire fitting for any and all fitness needs. While I knew this clothing was expensive my eyes bulged out of my head when I saw a $98 pricetag for a pair of running pants. Yikes! While the clothing is fitted with bells and whistles to give you the comfort and stability to be all that your athletic self can be I must say the four stars is due to the employees of the store. I have never encountered a more friendly environment or a more enthusiastic group of people about a product. I'm sure they are trying their hardest to pull a sale but each and every person working there I spoke to went beyond your typical customer service. Without a doubt, it made me look forward to wearing the clothes. It was hard to not catch the spirit. I bought two items (one was even on sale) and had the gift card worth $150 but still had to pay a $32 remainder. Expensive as fuck! Wow. Am I happy I bought the clothes anyway? This is NOT a review of lululemon clothing (which I love and even own stock in the company!) but it is a review of the employees at this location who are WRETCHED! What is the deal?!?! Specifically, there is this older woman (50s? 60s?) with short hair that is so mean it makes me want to cry. I often find her manning the dressing room area, so I try to keep my head down and not make eye contact for fear. She has yelled out phrases like "that makes your muffin top look horrible" and "whoa camel toe" for ALL THE STORE TO HEAR while trying on items. I'm not a shy gal in the least, but this woman makes me want to RUN AND HIDE. That's no way to feel in a store! Now if I'm in the area I will look/try on clothes to get an idea for sizing and color preference but buy it at a different lululemon (Downtown/Eastside/online/anywhere that she isn't) just to avoid this mean old lady. UPDATE: RESPONSE TO "LIZ" from LULULEMON who wrote me a note in response to my post: Dear Liz, Thanks for your post, but it seems like it comes a day late and a dollar short. I have had REPEATED bad experiences at this location, and called in to speak with the store manager to explain my dissatisfaction as well as go so far as to call the GEC almost in tears, all to no avail. This response from you comes only after I have to write a negative review publicly so all who read Yelp can see what TERRIBLE customer service your organization (this store in particular) have provided on a consistent basis. I was so excited about the UVillage store opening that I actually showed up at 9am on their first day. (Ug. Obsessed much?) I've been happy with most everything about the new store -- they gave me extra Omega stickers to give with gifts! -- with one exception: it seems like they're still working out the kinks with the hemming thang. See, they offer free hemming on their pants, which is awesome. Awesome! Not so awesome is when you show up to pick up your pants and get a lot of confusion and hmm, we're not sure where they are, and no explanation of when they'll be in or what happened. I'm going to chalk this one up to issues with a new store and a new staff, but still ... if I give you my beloved pants, I need to know that I'm going to get them back in a timely fashion. What was 5 days has become 7 and has become 10 with no end in sight. No "We'll call you when they get in!" Just "it'll be a few more days, I guess." Once they get these kinds of things figured out, I'll be in luluheaven. But it's sort of a big deal to spend $100 on a pair of pants that then go away for a couple weeks without much communication about when they're coming back or what's going on. read more

I think the clothes, although way overpriced, are gorgeous. If I had a million bucks to spend on my yoga wear, this would be my place. This review is not about that, however. This is about service, which I think should be a huge part of a review of a clothing store like this. With these kind of prices, and employees crawling all over the place, I should have had impeccable service. Instead, I was sneered at and NO ONE helped me when I was in there looking at everything for 15 minutes, and actually wanting someone to help me. What is wrong with me that a place with good reviews and supposedly good service would provide such a horrible experience? Well, at the time I visited, I was pregnant. I was sensitive to people staring at my belly - because lots did. I swear that several employees looked at me and were done. When it comes to getting gear to compliment a fitness centric lifestyle. I can't imagine any place better than Lulu's to get your gear. Granted I know there are other locations (and even one closer to where in live up north) but I always seem to go here. I'm a sucker for great looking clothes that perform well. For the fashion centric man, finding workout clothes is usually a practice in compromise, look good? Or perform well? Compromise is all well and good, but allow me to prefer the more superficial end result. The products are what keep me coming back, my yoga shorts, hot yoga towels, and a few shirts and pants that live in my current fitness rotation were all purchased here. I love that they offer free hemming (a godsend for a man like me who stands at a modest '5"6) and the staff is always helpful whether it's finding sizes or answering questions about products. A fun atmosphere with friendly staff. A+ in my book. My only complaint is that I wish there was more of a selection when it comes to the colors in the men's wear. U-village never picks up the phone, never!!! I tried 5 different times over a week span. They also closed the store 1.5 hour early to work on a delivery. I was one of the lucky ones already in line but I saw numerous customers complain once arriving to find out their time traveling was a waste. On top of all of that, I drove 30 minutes to the Bellevue location a day before to pick up shorts that I purchased online--the staff said they were in stock when I called an hour before but they don't do holds-- my order was cancelled when I arrived at the store because the shorts I had purchased had been sold during the hour window traveling there.
