My daughter is a typical teen girl who watches TikToks and falls victim to whatever is currently trending. She really wanted to go this store so we drove up from Olympia. The store was absolutely packed. I am talking 50-75 people in a little store. It was very hard to shop and see everything because I felt like I was in a mosh pit with everyone else frantic to shop as well. The clothes are very cute and moderately priced. They are "one size fits all" which should mean "one size fits all as long as you are tall and slender". This store is definitely for tall and lean teenaged girls. The employees were zero help with anything and seemed very disinterested in doing anything other than folding clothes from people who tried them on in the dressing room and chose something else. I wouldn't say they were rude but they were short in their answers and it was very clear that they are not expected to interact with guests and certainly not with any friendliness. Anyway, we ended up getting a lot of items. They are fast fashion items so we shall see how long they actually last. read more

I will preface this by saying I am young myself-- not quite a minor, but I did work retail when I was 16 and I understand how difficult it can be. That being said, the environments I worked in were often significantly more stressful than the one being offered here at the Brandy Melville UVillage location. I have never written a review for a location before in my life, unless it was a mom & pop shop that absolutely needed a glowing review. This is not that. I am writing this review because the service I have received at this location, time and time again, has been beyond asinine. The store is the same as it always has been in UVillage, but now it has been moved to a new location. It's a bigger space, requiring more employees. The employees are why I am writing this review. I have rarely been treated with the level of disrespect I am treated with at this location. I dislike UVillage in general, the atmosphere is not for me and the (often upper class, very privileged, blindsided, etc) shoppers tend to irritate me. I have money, I can absolutely shop there, but I don't enjoy the way people turn their noses up at you. Regardless of the area, however, this type of attitude should NEVER be reflected in the people behind the counter. My sister, who's fairly young, has also been treated poorly. My mother has been treated poorly. My father has had racist remarks made towards him because he is a brown latino man, and I have had to deal with countless glances my way and really unprofessional remarks on my appearance. I don't name any names, but here I will. There is a Korean girl who is likely also a student at UW (as most of these employees unfortunately are), her name is Heather Chung. She is known online and in the Seattle space surrounding this location as the pariah of the store. I have never had any experience with her, never seen her in store, but the videos I have seen and the stories I have heard seem like cautionary tales. I rarely buy from Brandy Melville anymore because I do not support their company policy, and the way they treat their employees. Furthermore, on the rare occasion I do go into their stores, I should not be ignored and even looked down upon. read more

Cute clothes, not the greatest experience. The space was packed when I first came in, and it was very hard to find an employee. I came in looking for a popular pair of sweats that I've seen many people wear. I made a drive from Lynnwood, which is about 30-40 minutes away. There's a tiny Brandy in Alderwood Mall in Nordstrom, but I wanted more selection so I put my time into driving south. I couldn't find the sweats, so I asked an employee. She said "we only have these two." This was fine; it's summer so I understand there wouldn't be a wide selection of full length sweats. A little sad, I said "thank you" and turned around. SECONDS later, my mom comes up to me and says "Wow! They have like 20 pairs of the cute sweats you were raving about!" I said "whaaaa" and she said "yaaaa! Here it is!" They had a plethora of sweats and the employee didn't have the energy to walk two steps to find it. That is fine, I get it. I work in retail and it can be hard finding items and we all get a little lazy. Fitting room was an average experience. Next I go to the cash register. The cashier seemed very fake and didn't want to help or interact with me. She said "you can put the item on the table" and then after I swiped my card she didn't put forth extra energy into reaching over the counter. She just left it for me to grab and said "bye." Overall, I wasn't satisfied with my $40 purchase for one pair of sweatpants. The clothes are very cute, but I will probably look towards online shopping in the future. read more

I had one of the worst retail experiences of my life at this Brandy Melville location, my friend and I were being led to a dressing room by the store employees themselves only to be suddenly yelled at and told we weren't allowed to be in there. It was completely jarring and confusing, especially because we were just following the directions we were given instead of apologizing for the mistake of clarifying what had happened the staff double down, laughed at us and treated us like we had done something wrong. The situation was uncomfortable, humiliating, and completely unprofessional. There's absolutely no excuse for this kind of behavior. It reflects a total lack of communication among the staff and more importantly, a lack of basic respect for customers, especially since were the reason they're getting paid Brandy Melville seriously needs to evaluate who they're hiring and how they're being trained. service is definitely not the greatest at THIS LOCATION. The store is on the smaller side for a brandy but has a pretty good selection. The free stickers are a plus and it is fun to go and look around. Every single item in Brandy is adorable and I wish I could own it all. Many people are annoyed with the one size, but it IS NOT ones size FITS ALL. It is one size, they never say it will fit everyone. Most of the pants and some sweatshirts come in different sizes. No matter how old you are or what your style is or what size you are, you will always find SOME THInG you love. A receptionist double charged my mom for the same item and when emailed with customer support. They went complete silent after their refunding was declined by my bank in Vietnam. Emailed them three times from June 17, 2022 to June 24th, 2022 and still received 0 replies to help or provide further instruction. Don't try shipping at Brandy Melville 40 minutes before closing. The three women working had the dressing room closed. When I asked about it being closed, the snarky woman at the register said it was because they are closing in 30 minutes (actually 35 at this point). I pointed out that it was strange to prevent customers from shopping 30 minutes before closing. She replied that they were short staffed. There were THREE clerks in the store. More than there were customers! I let them know I'd be calling the manager about their dressing room closure - they clearly couldn't care less. We went elsewhere to spend our money. After reading all of these horrible reviews I didn't know what to expect knowing I needed to go into the store. I was dreading it but also ready for a challenge if necessary. Gifts purchased on the Brandy Melville website were received and one tank needed to be exchanged. I entered the store upon its opening time and was greeted by a young woman named McKenna. She was very helpful with the exchange while making suggestions. We had a lovely conversation and I found her to be a very warm and engaging sales professional. I called one store and they said the return policy is two weeks but on their website, it's 30 days FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE NOT FROM DATE OF DELIVERY. Describing this place as the worst customer service is an understatement. The staff were rude and unapologetic. There were lots of eye rolling and it was clear that we were an inconvenience. We walked in for a graduation dress and knew exactly what we wanted. It was about to close and we asked to try it on quickly. They said if we can do it in one minute. So, we rushed. During this minute, they yelled at us and gave us a countdown in seconds. I was aware of the time and was checked out within 5 minutes with 2 dresses for my daughter and her best friend. It was unbelievable. The clothes are poor quality (better options and styles at Goodwill) but my daughter loved the dress. I have never felt so humiliated in my life and in front of my daughters. They set an example of how exactly not to be for my daughter and her friends. The customer service is pathetic. My recommendation is to AVOID and not support. read more

Brandy Melville is definitely one of my favorite clothing brands. I was super grateful to be able to stop by the in person store while visiting Seattle opposed to purchasing their clothes online, and it was worth the visit. As far as the store itself, it smelled very pretty, was very organized and cleanly, but the workers definitely lacked a friendly attitude. I heard a few discussing one of their fellow employees (what sounded like was a personal situation of hers) as soon as she left the room. They didn't bother to talk to any of the customers until met at the register, and as I observed and experienced only left shoppers with very blunt comments regarding their return policy. Like many others said, the employees only bother to glare at you and make you feel rushed and uncomfortable. Not the most welcoming vibe, but that's what you get from a cliquey brand that lacks diversity. Also, I didn't notice any price tags on any of their items. I was familiar with the costs based upon their app and website, but it was a bit strange. Absolutely horrific customer service here. I've never written a negative review, but truly felt compelled to write one after shopping at the U Village location today. I would have ordered my clothes online but needed a simple top for an event tomorrow & decided to walk 30 minutes there in the rain. This was my first time in a physical brandy melville store & I was instantly disappointed by the service. Since I had walked a mile in the pouring rain, I was understandably a bit wet, & once I walked in the store the girl behind the counter made a face (of disgust perhaps?) & didn't say anything. I found what I was looking for & wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. There were also two groups of teenage girls who kept giving me odd looks & standing too close to me (we're in a pandemic!). The employees kept their eye on me as if I were about to steal something as well & I felt scrutinized/like I was under a microscope the entire time. At the cash register, the same girl from earlier checked me out & seemed bothered. I tried to be friendly & ask how this [pair of pants] would fit (baggy, tight, etc?) & she just stared me down & said "oh. This fits like a zero to four. Pretty much everything here does" (I wouldn't be buying it if I didn't know that). I simply said thanks & left. I understand how difficult it can be to deal with customers at times: I've worked multiple customer service jobs, including being a barista for the past two years. However, I would never treat even the snottiest of customers on my worst day like this. You don't have to be the customer's best friend--just be cordial & polite! While disappointed, but not surprised, I'd rather not support them anyways (this was my first time shopping there ever--they were the only place in town that I could get this type of top by tomorrow) because I have many friends who don't fit into their insanely small clothes & it's incredibly discriminatory. All in all, the atmosphere was uncomfortable & unwelcoming. The clothing IS cute, but not inclusive at all. We are in the middle of a global pandemic so I understand why the fitting rooms are closed and why they can only allow a certain amount of people in at a time (hence the line).
