    Lumberjack Breakfast
    Tom S.

This is one of the best places in Rockland County for breakfast. I don't get here as often as I would like, but every time I leave raving about the delicious food and wonderful service. Today was no different, we can by just after the place opened and we were able to get seated immediately. (sometimes there is a bit of a wait, but given how great this place is, it's worth a few minutes) My daughter had the French Omelet, my wife had the Lumberjack special, and I had the Banana Bread Nutella French toast from the specials menu. These were all beautifully prepared and delicious. My French Toast was hands down, the best I have ever had. The service was perfect, and the eclectic vibe is always a treat. Can't wait to go back.

This is absolutely the cutest cafe I have ever been to! We met the owner while we were there and she was an absolute doll. I just flew in from LA and I was starving! I had to have the Banana Nut Bread French Toast with Bananas and Strawberries.... YUMM! I ate them to fast with my crispy bacon to even take a pic!!!!! The whole vibe in the cafe is so adorable and welcoming! The food is soooo good and the customer service is phenomenal! If you are looking for a great breakfast spot this is your place! I'm definitely coming back for sure!

What a find Lulu's Cafe is! Nestled in a small strip mall in West Nyack Lulu's is a small yet elegant little cafe on West Nyack Road. Eclectic in its decor, it is an excellent restaurant with a great assortment of breakfast and brunch options. Delicious omelettes, sandwiches and salads can be found. The wait staff is fun, courteous and friendly. And food came out of the kitchen quickly and wonderfully prepared. If you are anywhere in West Nyack and don't want to go to the Palisades Mall to get some boring tasteless chain store grub, then Lulu's is for you. Fair warning, it's a small restaurant without reservations so there may be a wait.

Two Eggs platter with turkey sausage

Very cute and small cafe , perfect for breakfast or brunch. They have a lot of options on the menu. We went with the simple lumberjack platter and the two egg platter with turkey sausage and no complaints ! Also got a delicious latte and Oj. Can get busy fast since it's a small place but definitely worth it. staff was very friendly. We'll be back for sure.

Second time here and as others say it's adorable. Food is great, service even better! Had the lumberjack lol this time an egg cream, and cupcake. Didn't eat again for a week.

Today we lucked into a table for a late Valentine's Day lunch! Definitely a cute and modern cafe with comfortable seating. Waitress and the rest of the staff were excellent. They had a nice selection of specials on top of a solid menu. We started with the Garlic Parmesan wings, they were tremendous! They were crisp and juicy and loaded up with delicious toppings! My wife enjoyed an Asian noodle salad. I loved the poached egg dish that featured Hollandaise, smoked salmon, and was served on a Portuguese muffin. Really nicely prepared! Unsweetened tea was also good. We look forward to returning!

The macaroni and cheese had the perfect combination of cheeses. I had the breakfast scramble...tasted like a crustless quiche. The star of the show was the fried chicken. It was perfectly seasoned...the flavor was through the chicken. The mimosa...don't remember the juice..was so good. The live music was a nice touch. One I issue was the service. Our server seemed overwhelmed. Another server didn't comprehend or speak English well. Also the bartender left during our stay-so my party didn't order additional drinks. Another issue was there are no appetizers on the weekend! I really wanted some wings!

Once seated and prior to ordering, we received a lovely basket of sweet potato muffins and a buttermilk biscuit drizzled with honey. They were absolutely delicious! The very friendly chef came to our table to welcome us, and talk about these special muffins. We were also warmly greeted by the restaurant manager. As for our meal, we had 2 orders of the chicken and waffles, collard greens, and macaroni and cheese. The chicken was hot, crispy, and perfectly seasoned, and the waffles were light and fluffy. The macaroni and cheese was also delicious, but the greens were very heavily salted. Overall, the portions were generous. As for the live entertainment, it perhaps begins later in the afternoon, maybe after 2pm? Our reservation was at 1pm, and the guitarist arrived just as we were finishing our meal. My one critique is the reservation process. The only take reservations by phone, and during the limited hours that they are open. The person with whom I made my reservation made some errors. Fortunately, another staff member contacted me twice the day prior to my reservation to clarify the time and date. Having the ability to use an online reservation platform would have been easier and more accurate.

This time I came in with my parents after my wife kept raving about the Dominican chimi and the grilled chicken. We came specifically to try those and, as usual, left completely satisfied. I ordered the chimi and the picadera again, and once more we were blown away. The picadera was stacked with tostones, grilled chicken, fried chicken, fried pork chops, and fried ham. Everything was hot, seasoned well, and cooked exactly the way it should be. The chimi was excellent from the first bite to the last, and the mayo-ketchup tied all the flavors together perfectly. Honestly, just look at the food. I don't know why I even need to keep explaining it. Stop reading the reviews and go eat. Yes, it's that good. Yes, you get real value for your money. I quickly consulted The Yelp and found this nice sit-down place, so we came on over and enjoyed a restaurant to ourselves on a Saturday afternoon. (I won't lie - "Ixchel Bakery" caught my eye first for the name alone - but I haven't checked that out yet; we were there for lunch, not dessert.) What caught me first is that the logo sign inside is exactly what Yelp events want. I told them about potentially hosting Yelp events in the future... Anyway, the menu is straight Dominican Republic, and I enjoyed comparing the similarities and differences to my local Honduran restaurant. Some very authentic dishes on the menu here, lovingly and authenticly prepared. We started with a pair of empanadas for appetizer, the res and the pollo y queso. I'm an empanada snob but these have a nice balance of ingredients and flavors, good size for the price. While the mondongo intrigued me, I went with the equally intriguing Yaroa, a Dominican street food with meat and cheese on a bed of green plantains (or fries, if you prefer), topped with ketchup and white sauce. I'm not a ketchup person, but I wanted the dish exactly as it comes, and that's good because it tasted excellent as it came. And it arrived right as we finished the empanadas. The staff were very friendly, but a bit focused on kitchen operations; I did have to flag someone down at one point for a water refill. So that is the one imperfection in an otherwise wonderful experience, and not worth docking a star over. I would absolutely come back here again. The owner was talking potential redecoration, I was talking about trying other dishes - so there are convenient excuses moving forward. :)
