I should have done my research before paying for these floors. I was scammed, ghosted, and lied to for months by Will/Guillermo Figari, ultimately losing over $5,700 and setting my home renovation back over 2 months. I purchased a home that had floors installed by Luma Hardwoods / The Hardwood Agency (he seems to go by multiple business names and actual names as referenced by other reviewers). I had some water damage and reached out to Luma to match the floors that were previously installed in the home. Then things unfolded as described below: January 12 - I paid for the order in full (that was a mistake) and Will said the order would be stateside in a month (supposedly it was coming from Italy, but I think that was actually untrue as well) Feb 6, Feb 16, Feb 20, Feb 23, March 3 - Texted, called, Emailed - no response from Will March 4 - He finally responded and said the order had not shipped from Italy and he agreed to cancel my order (since he couldn't provide tracking or any kind of accurate update on when the product would ship or arrive) March 4 - March 22 - Emailed, called, texted asking for a refund - no response. I am currently disputing this with my bank and will be joining the list of other customers Will has scammed by opening a small claims case in Travis County. Please don't make the same mistake I did and get scammed by this company. EDIT: Will has been saying my refund is "in process" for weeks now, over a month after my order was cancelled and he agreed to provide a refund. I have filed a police report, reported him to Better Business Bureau, filed an IC3 claim, and will continue to spread the word in the hopes that he doesn't rip anyone else off. read more

We have the worst experience snd deeply regret our decision to choose Luma hardwood agency and Guillermo Figari whom we trusted and paid a large amount of $50k in advance as per the contract for our new house flooring. It went in similar pattern where he delayed the stock delivery by more than 2 weeks after multiple follow ups , he finally gave up saying your stock is not delivered and you can opt for cancellation and refund. He never sent the cancellation order and doesn't reply to phone calls or messages. This looks like completely fraudulent company where we are now filing a suit against this company. This is all such an emotional stress and lot of financial loss. Plz take my review in all sincerity and don't get into this trap. We have been calling and messaging since weeks on refund process or timeline of refund and there is absolutely no response from his end. We hired Guillermo Figari, Luma Hardwoods / aka The Hardwood Agency in March and deeply regret it. Over 4 months, he lied, stalled, and failed to deliver even a basic flooring match. Instead, he took our money, damaged our hallway flooring by cutting into it unnecessarily, and when he couldn't match the color (see attached photos), he ghosted us after months of excuses when we asked for a refund. Do yourself a favor and research him: he and his so-called "company" have multiple civil cases in Travis County for the same reason. This isn't just bad service, he and his company are a big SCAM!!! I would never recommend Luma to anyone. I beg you to ask around town and I guarantee you'll find someone who has been screwed or unhappy with this company. Guillermo is a great salesman. But do not expect ownership of the flooring install, standing behind the quality of the wood, the quality of his crew's install or for him to provide viable solutions to any problems that arise. We ordered wood from Guillermo in November 2020. The flooring we agreed upon was supposed to be a white oak from Austria, mostly select grade (not too many knots) and then a "hybrid" of a select rustic that the larger knots could be put into closets. He sold us on it because he was very excited because this flooring dealer was "looking to break into the American market" and our flooring "would be the first like it installed in the US." The flooring we actually got delivered and installed was not what we ordered, it was stamped from Italy and poorly packaged. The flooring is not the same dimensions, width or place of origin. On top of that, it's a rustic grade floor, the only reason it fooled us when it was originally installed was that the putty is the same color as the floor, so what that means is every board has multiple knots filled with oak colored putty instead of black... which would be okay if it wasn't almost every single board. So if it was filled with black putty, this would 100% be a rustic floor and not at all what we ordered. Also, his crew didn't appear to know to install flooring properly since we have a "stair step" pattern in many, many places all over the house. Secondly, Luma never came to measure our space independently and went off a number that we got from our contractor. So we ended up with too little flooring to finish the house. We conceded that this could be on us since it was our contractor who gave us the square footage so we were willing to pay for additional flooring to finish the job. The hard part was that he wasn't able to get the same flooring again. Keep in mind, this is also a flooring that we felt duped on since it did not match the samples or our invoice and was way more rustic. We were willing to keep the flooring we didn't love and move on just to finish the job. When we first brought up concerns with him when the flooring was being installed in October 2021, he ghosted us for a month. When I finally did get to talk to him we went back and forth for 6 MONTHS with no resolution, no responsibility for leaving us with 2/3 finished flooring, no finish on the downstairs caulking areas, terrible cuts that we cannot fix because we do no have more flooring material and being just generally unhappy with the entire process. I told him at one point, I felt like we had been bait and switched, which he took offense to but it could not be more true. So after leaving us with no options, no resolution and no acceptance of any responsibility of installing the wrong floors and not finishing the job, he has ghosted us again. We hired another company to remove the flooring and install more of a similarly colored wood. The quality of that floor far surpasses the flooring that was installed by Luma. In talking to our contractor and other subs in our house, when they see the flooring issues they always ask and we tell them the truth of what happened. Everyone we have talked to has a story about Guillermo and none of them are good. So I urge you to save yourself the torment of using Luma. I have documentation of everything I have said above- from the flooring samples, to the contrast of what the sample was to what was installed, the terrible install, to the text messages back and forth (where he does admit they installed the wrong floor but again doesn't offer a solution)... Guillermo is a liar, a narcissist and a con artist. Ask around. I think you would be hard pressed to find more than one person who had a good experience with them. read more

I highly recommend Luma! We were looking to update the look of our home, and hardwood floors were a must. We came in with an idea (pictures from online and magazines), and the team was able to make it a reality. Let's just say, we were lucky to find these guys. We initially thought that we would have to settle for more common looking flooring designs because of our budget, but we got a great price for some of the more exotic looking wood.
