It was fun talking to Stacey and Kristine and hearing their stories about their prior lives and how they ended up opening a local glass studio. The team let us know after we had finished our class that it'd take a few weeks before we could come pick up our finished goods and they'd e-mail us once ready. Unfortunately, we never got the e-mail but went ahead and called in after a few weeks and confirmed we could go pick things up. The pieces came out in ways we didn't expect, but overall very happy with how the glass came out and I accept user errors regarding my lack of artistic capabilities.

Gibson St. is one of two artisan-ONLY markets in the entire city: if it was made in China, then the artist is also Chinese. Great food, great people, great craftsmanship and selection. Better pricing than a department store, especially when you consider you're getting a ONE OF KIND creation, and most artists will customize on the spot for you at no added charge, if they can (depends on their art; some just can't)... Get THAT kind of service at Walmart! I am proud of the people I work with: all do great handmade and Austin-only goods! I put the pics against an etching board as the matte finish felt better on the board and the pics adhered a little better. I tried using actual poster board, however, whenever I use paints and or glitter, depending on the water content of the paint the paper curls. Technically you're not supposed to use etching board outside etching, however, it is a crafters that many people use this for photos. They are $$ at Michael's but I was able to score a decent number with shipping for a reasonable price.
