I'm sharing this experience so other clinicians can make an informed decision. I purchased LumaDent loupes a few years ago. From the beginning, they did not fit properly. There was no option for in-person measurements at the time of purchase, which I believe contributed to the poor vision. They originally sent me the wrong frames and I had issues with seeing double, they correct the frames but the underlying fit and vision issues were never resolved, and the loupes were never usable in practice. Earlier this week, I spent time on a video call with the company attempting to troubleshoot the issue. Only after that call was I informed that because more than two years have elapsed from the original purchase date, they would not perform any adjustments or modifications under any circumstances -- even for a fee. The loupes are essentially brand new and have never been worn clinically, yet they declined to even evaluate them due to strict policy timelines. I take responsibility for not realizing how much time had passed, but it was frustrating to be told this only after investing additional time trying to resolve the problem. For a high-cost professional instrument, this level of inflexibility is disappointing. I was offered a discount toward purchasing a new pair, but that does not address the fact that the original product never functioned properly. Additionally, I experienced a durability issue with the headlight, as the light switch broke apart into multiple pieces during normal use. I would encourage prospective buyers to carefully review measurement processes and warranty limitations before purchasing. read more

I was having issues with double circles showing up and Nick H was very helpful, professional, and patient with me. I will definitely choose them over any other loupe brands after experiencing their exceptional customer service. Now I have two pairs of their loupes and it's great for when I need a backup if something happens to one of them. It's convenient that they have a local spot in Reno so I don't need to ship mine out if it needs repairs. I have convinced a few of my hygiene friends to get them and they also love them. My loupes arm broke off at the hinge and I was desperate to figure out how to resolve the issue. I initially called during their listed business hours with no response and left a message. After a full business day of no phone response, I went on the website and used their Live Chat feature through their Help & Support portal. Still no response. Hence -1 star. After those unsuccessful tries, I used the "Request Service" feature where it prompted me to answer questions and upload a photo and/or video of my broken loupe arm. Within a day or two, Isabella Lopez from the help desk was extremely helpful. The problem was identified and the necessary parts were shipped 3 days later and received 5 days since our first convo. A solution was given with detailed step by step directions/a video to help me repair it myself, which I'm so happy could be done without having to send my loupes in. I wish I could have reached them through the other advertised contacts, and they would reach out sooner, but once I was finally helped, the service was pretty fast and friendly. Ive bought 4-5 complete Lumident light setups over many years. I recently, I had a cable go which happens more often than you would expect and the unit is only nine months old. They wont Replace the cable. Just sent me the link to buy a replacement at 39$ after tax and shipping. You would think that after how much these cost they would not nickel and dime any after purchase support. I'm used to dealing with companies that put customers first. So here's an update. Most companies never respond to bad reviews but LumaDent did reached and refunded me 100%. So I bumped their review to 3 Stars. At least they are willing to stand by their product and respond for the screwup. However this does not negate the issues and experiences I had, my time, my expenses to ship the loupes back, etc.. Their staff are good people and quite respectful, it's the technical team needs to dial in a better system to reduce redoes and returns- growing pain. I do have to say LumaDent is a very innovative company and is willing to improve. So I believe they will iron out all wrinkles. Good luck to them. read more

As a dental hygiene student, I was really hoping Lumadent would be a reliable investment -- unfortunately, it's been nothing but stress and disappointment. I understand adjustments can be necessary, but they didn't make the process easy. I wasn't told I would need to make my own adjustments until after I purchased the loupes. If I would have known this prior to purchase, it would have swayed my decision to order from them. After receiving my loupes in the mail, I spent hours adjusting them in order to see clearly. The initial measurements taken by the rep were incorrect by 7 inches which compromised my ergonomics. I spent over an hour troubleshooting over video chat, even though this was something I was unable to fix myself. They told me I would receive a shipping label via email and I never did. I had to reach out to initiate the process and follow up multiple times to receive updates. I ended up sending them in for a month-long repair -- just to get them functional. Even then, they came back damaged and they had completely ignored some of my other my requests via email. Now, just a few months later, both oculars are loose in the lenses -- one is nearly falling out -- and I'm completely unable to use my loupes because all I see is double vision. I've had them for less than a year, I use them twice a week at most, and I've taken great care of them. They should not be falling apart already. Throughout this whole process, customer service was not helpful at all and only focused on repair, but I made it clear (more than once) that I would feel more comfortable returning them for a refund in which they refuse. I appreciate their efforts to repair the loupes, but this is a crucial tool I rely on for school and my future career. The quality has been extremely disappointing, and if I'm already experiencing issues now, I can't trust they'll hold up with the increased, regular use ahead. I've been unhappy with both the product and the support I received, and as a student, I can't afford to keep wasting time and money on equipment I can't rely on. I understand companies have return policies, but Lumadent has not been willing to work with me at all. I regret choosing them and would not recommend them to anyone. I wish I would have chosen a different company from the beginning, but now - not even a year later - I have to pay an additional $2000 just for a functional pair of loupes. read more

First off, I purchased the ergo air loupes for my work as a dental hygienist, along with the wavelux battery, and it is such a game changer! I feel like my ergonomics have improved so much and it is so amazing. One of my light batteries started to flicker after a few months and the customer service was fabulous. Decent product, HORRIBLE customer support. Purchased a set of Galilean Vario 2 to replace some Sheervisions I wore for 10 years. Was happy with them, and decided to get fitted for some Prism TTL loupes. The telescopes went out of focus after two months of use, and I was seeing double and out of focus in one eye. NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS trying to get the loupes repaired. They require a video conference before you can send them in for repair (which take a couple weeks to schedule), and then shipping back and forth, and repair time. Sent them in 3 times before the problem was resolved. Have only used the loupes for 2 months out of the 6 that I have owed them, I ended up having to buy another companies loupes in the meantime. Lumadent refused to refund my loupes. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

Terrible company. They charge you a lot of money for loops and then if something happened to them, they make excuses to not replace them but charge you a lot of money to repair them. Customer service is awful. I had to deal with a customer service representative named Bo Guest who would not let me speak and was arguing with me about my loops being damaged and being my fault. I've had these loops one year. He told me if I wanted the lens to be replaced. It would be $500. My loops are still under warranty. But they would not honor the warranty because he said it looks like they were cleaned with some type of alcohol, which they were cleaned several times with lens wipes and soap and water. read more

Their products break as soon as the warranty is up, and their customer service reps literally leave you on read when you reach out to them (after promising they will fix the issue). Their NY rep, Josephine, doesn't respond to text or email. She lost the measurements she took for me in March. She keeps failing to schedule a re-fitting. Not a single pair of loupes is worth this hassle, much less one doomed to fail nearly immediately. Currently trying to get a new light sent from their company (which broke after a single year of PART TIME use). I had to pay for my own shipping to send it there (over $50) and will have to pay for a cable (over $20 with tax) and likely my own shipping (who knows). All this for cheaply made plastic pieces that fall apart in your hands. This should've been covered from the get-go. The reason they make you pay for shipping and repairs is because they would go broke if they didn't. I am running -- no, sprinting -- back to Orascoptic. I'm surprised Lumadent is still afloat. read more

I have been waiting for 3 days just to get a response on what to do with my loupes that have double vision. They also try to use automation to the point that it is very frustrating you can't connect with a human. Make sure you have a back up pair of loupes if you decide to switch to Lumadent. read more

LumaDent's magnifying glasses are very expensive. But the glasses frame is too weak. My wife used just for 1 year. If someone buy a LumaDent's magnifying glasses, I will tell them never ever buy it. You can see the picture below. I do not recommend LumaDent. read more

I ordered an arm replacement for my glasses and they sent me the wrong one. I had to send my glasses in and they said it'd be a 2 to 3 day turnaround and it was 2 1/2 weeks to get my glasses back, so working without your loops your a real bummer. The glasses did come back but didn't bother to repair the crack in the lens. These things have 100% warranty on them and they already had them in the factory. It doesn't make any since to me? Plus they took scissors and clipped off my neck loop holders so they destroyed the ability for me to replace the neck loop, now my loops are hanging out on top of my head super inconvenient. I would not say that this is superior service. They didn't keep me posted on updates of getting the glasses once they got them they couldn't find them. They didn't give me any information for when they were returning them. I had to call probably six times on this one ticket. They also came back filthy dirty. I have had nothing but problems with LumaDent. My first order was randomly cancelled so I had to contact them to get it done again. This made the process last much longer than I was told. After finally getting the loupes they did not fit my face. I had to send them in again, which took another month or so. After getting them back, they still did not fit right. I was told to give it time to let my eyes adjust as that was "most likely" the problem. I gave it some time and am still having problems. After all of this, I am now told it is too late to return my loupes..even though I was told to give it time. An expensive $2,800 waste. Would not recommend. read more

Their light works fine. It's the customer service. They charge $8 for shipping a pair of screws that I needed for their part. When I asked them if they could waive the shipping fee, they said that they are already waiving the cost of the screws and that I should originally be charged $10! For 2 little screws that are used to mount my light to my Orascoptic loupes! They also charge $8 for shipping any time you need anything from them no matter how small the part and I've been finding it to be very annoying. The only good thing I like about them is the fact that they come with 2 light batteries, but their customer service reps are not trained well (I spoke to 2, and the one that was not a supervisor sounded very confused and I had to explain the situation multiple times). read more

Technically one is too many. Absolute worse experience and customer service. They claim they provide customized loupes however out of 4 loupes sold to my office only 1 fit well. All others had convergence issues to the point some were not usable. We sent in for repairs and they still were not able to correct . I guess no surprise when they use a selfie that you provide the company in place of someone coming back out to remeasure. Apparently a rep will only come out to make a sale when issues arise good luck trying to get them back. It was a 6 month process with multiple repair attempts until we opted to return. Which I may add still waiting on refunds several weeks later. Lumadent offers low price point loupes but beware you get what you pay for. Very poor customer service and poor quality face shield. They claim the shield will fit over most loupes with head light. I have the popular Orascoptic brand and they do NOT accommodate. According to Stefanie Riddle, one of the "solution" reps, I would need more foam pieces to allow for a perfect fit. No extra pieces were sent with the order on top of that, The pieces that were sent were faulty- adhesive did not separate properly , therefore I had to improvise in adapting foam to the plastic frame to get an idea of how this shield should fit. The plastic shield is flimsy, and the functionality is non existent! You cannot lift the shield up or down without restriction, and the cheap plastic bends. They state due to COVID-19 they will not issue a refund on their product but will send me Xtra foam that should have been sent initially but they were out! It has been over a Month and I have not received any additional foam thus this order is still incomplete. I doubt that the foam pieces will make a difference in the fit of this face shield. For some reason they rather compromise customer service for $40. I offered to send this back since I cannot use it. read more
