We are very loyal customers. Quality/Quantity - Here for the Wax and Watch event DIG. My first time and what an amazing event. Fundraising for so many nonprofits, see pictures. Also sponsored by Fifty Fifty Brewing Co; I had a few too many beers, too good of a time. I also found out about Fifty's Grand opening at RPM, which we also supported and attended the next day, see other Yelp Review. Non alcoholic drinks were also available. Too lazy to have brought our equipment for the wax. Plus Mt Rose gives us each 4 free waxes that I rarely use up. Raffle - We did NOT win. Atmosphere - Clean and organized location. Love the NV art on the side of the building/in the parking lot. Cool! See pictures. Open 7 days a week from 10am to 7pm and on Sundays from 10am to 6pm. Small parking lot, but because we came in off peak (weird) hours, it is rarely an issue for us. And today we got lucky as the lot was full but a car gave us his space. Service - The team is so welcoming and friendly. This is the #1 reason we are loyal customers. Events available - See website. Again, my first but NOT last time that I will attend an event. We will probably come back Sunday for the Mt Rose Passholder Spring Sale. Price - Expensive, but worth the quality, service, and culture. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1973. And thank you for also giving 1% to not-for-profit workers "to defend the earth." And having programs that raise awareness of environmental and social issues. My favorite program is Worn Wear. You can either sell Patagonia your used clothes or trade them in so they can fix it. I believe that reusing is better than recycling. Furthermore, they give you credit ranging from $15 to $150.

A work in progress, the basement offers retail shops such as bookstores, disc shop, bicycle shop and a fantastic curiosity shop. There is an early era barbershop, not male exclusive, restaurants, Tataima Shabu Shabu (5 stars), and more. Unfortunately we were held captive by a quarter stealing parking meter. It ate 8 quarters and gave us time for 4. . Note to everyone, there's free parking on Center Street. The basement is a fantastic place. Just allow yourself time to relax, explore and enjoy.

What exactly happens down in the Basement... nobody is quite sure. Some say there's an archaic coffee shop and a place to get morsels. Others say there's a place to be served and groomed by professional Barbers/Aestheticians. Still yet, others say there's a multitude of services for the mind and body. Parking can be a bit of a challenge if you're not familiar with side streets to use. But for the most part I walk in instead of driving. I enjoy walking to catch the many murals in the area. Often you have to veer off south Virginia Street to see many of them. It's worth it. So many great small locally owned businesses. New clothing boutiques and shops that offer recycled clothing. Many bars that range from fun divvy to a bit pricey with attitude. Venues to catch small music concerts, plays and improv performances. And then there's the restaurant scene- ice cream, brunch, Thai, Mexican, steakhouse, pizza, sandwiches, bakery and more. Take a day, maybe several and explore everything Midtown has to offer.

The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely enthusiastic. They let me fully nerd out over some skulls, which honestly made my day. You can tell there's real care and expertise behind everything in the shop. There was also a living dog and bearded dragon there that they let me pet. The plants are always healthy and beautiful, which isn't always easy to find in specialty spaces like this. The oddities themselves are high quality and thoughtfully curated. It can seem a little expensive at first, but the quality absolutely makes it worth it. I bought a heteropteryx bug today and it's stunning. Every visit makes me want more. My long-term goal is to fill my biology classroom with pieces like this, and this shop is pure inspiration. They did the opposite and got rid of the clothes. When I called, one of the managers initially said they would make it right by increasing the cash they owed me for the clothes they did purchase, and told me to call back for the amount. But when I did, I was told they didn't need to do anything since I had "signed something" that allowed them to get rid of my items. This is not just poor communication. It's bad customer service. They went back on their word, didn't respect my instructions, and left me with no resolution. I will never go back.
