Great Business. We went there today as. When I had surgery on the bottom of my foot to remove a lump, and it's hard for me to walk long distances. So we have a lot of shows to go to, Fly-Ins, Air Shows, car shows, would make my foot hurt sooo bad. Now I can go longer than I have been able to. Not for local stores, etc.... Just for distance. They were very helpful here and I picked a good scooter, drive it around the store. Sooo excited to go to the Reno Air Races Saturday. Yippeeeee!!!! Great place for medical equipment. My wheelchair scooter stopped working when the airlines brought it up from the bay of the plane and my husband had to push me through the Vegas airport and the Reno airport along with our luggage until we could find a place to service it. Once in Reno NV we looked up places to have it serviced and found Medtech what a life saver they were in two days it was repaired and I was able to rent one in the meantime. Excellent service! I come to @RenoPeppermill Casino once or twice a year from Northern California. I struggle getting around at the altitude in Reno so I usually get a mobility scooter from the hotel. This time they were out and it was looking like I was going to spend my vacation in my room. I recently broke my leg and was in need for a wheelchair ramp to rent so I could get up/down steps into my front door. They had exactly what I needed and their super friendly staff loaded up into the back of my car in 5 minutes! Sadly this business had gone very downhill in the last several years! They tout their customer service, but if you don't live in Reno it can take weeks for them to get to your chair. Often they will say a part is ordered, only for you to follow up weeks later after not hearing back from them, to find out that the order was never placed. I would switch to another service company, but Medtech has an exclusive with our insurance company. If you have a choice of where to go, I would highly suggest giving another DME company a try, and leave Medtech as a last resort. read more

My Go Go mobility scooter would not work as we unloaded it the parking lot of our hotel. After many tries, I gave up and called this business. The gal that answered said they could send a tech out the next morning or I could bring it in. The young lady at the front desk was very pleasant, followed my husband outside and showed him the "correct way" it needed to be assembled. She just stood next to me the whole time I was looking around even after I said I wanted to browse around and asked if there were any items she thought could help us improve our home now that my handicap father is living with me. read more

My daughter uses a pediatric wheelchair. These wonderful people fitted her for it, helped find the perfect model, suggested lots of customizations to make it absolutely perfect for her, and did it all with a smile. They even got us a chair in her favorite color, and they surprised me by adding rear wheels that flash colored lights when they roll! Absolutely amazing touch for a young child's wheelchair! While it isn't exactly convenient to drive round-trip to Reno every time the chair needs some sort of maintenance, the staff is always so friendly and helpful that I don't mind too much. They are quick and very accommodating in every way they can be. I really appreciate the lengths they go to make the process as painless as possible. They even have a tech who comes down to Carson with some regularity, and he has performed several minor maintenance fixes and adjustments on the chair for my daughter at her school during the day so it didn't inconvenience me in the slightest. They have changed her safety harness and belt a few times when we discovered that the one on there wasn't fitting her very well or that she could get it open too easily, and they added lots of little touches like a strap on the back of the footrests so her feet don't fall behind and drag along the ground or trip her when she tries to get out. These guys know their stuff really well, and they'll work with you to get exactly what you need in the most affordable, desirable way possible. These people are as good as it gets. My husband's brand-new mobility scooter had an issue which caused it to periodically stop running for no apparent reason (believe me, we did read the directions). At the manufacturer's suggestion, we took it to Medtech. We dropped in without an appointment, and they couldn't have been more caring or professional. We had not purchased the scooter from them, but no matter. They had the problem identified and fixed within 20 minutes. From the ladies at the front desk to the gentlemen in the shop, they were all not only competent but also kind. They even helped my husband load the scooter back into our car. So my Rollator walker wheel broke completely off before work yesterday. Needless to say I panicked. Once my girlfriend got me calm again we figured out where a medical supply store was and I headed over. The lady I spoke to was very kind and at first we found that they wouldn't be able to fix it because it is manufactured direct for Walmart and Walgreens and couldn't get new parts locally. Then she discussed with me the purchase of a new walker which of course was not something I could just up and do right then. Then as I was getting ready to leave I picked up my broken wheel and was gonna head out, she stopped me and said "I don't feel right letting you leave like this" and had me wait a few minutes, she took my wheel and headed to the back again only to come back after a few minutes with a used wheel. She held it up to mine and told me she could do it. I said yes. I rely on my walker. She told me it would be done later that day. She calls but I don't notice, thankfully she left a voicemail. Fast forward to picking it up, not only did she fix my wheel but she replaced the missing knobs that hold my handgrips at a higher level and it no longer squeeks. I almost cried. Medtech definitely went above and beyond and I will ABSOLUTELY be back for everything else I need and I will make sure anyone else in need knows they are the place to go. read more

I had a very unpleasant experience with this company. You would think that Medtech being a company who deals with a very "sensitive" group of customers offers excellent customer service; wrong! Not having much competition in the Reno area, their customer service is below standards. On 9/21/2017, I tried to exchange a walker which was purchased on 7/15/2017 but was never used due to poor design. The company's policy states "no refunds after 30 days" as shown in the photo attached. Although I only asked for an exchange and not a refund, they initially refused to make the exchange. After arguing with them for some time about the obvious difference between "refund" and "exchange", they decided to make the exchange subject to a restocking fee. I decided not to do the exchange but simply donate the walker to a thrifty store; this is a matter of principle rather than money. I have just bough a new walker from amazon.com a company with superior customer service, much lower prices for the same products, and free two-day delivery for prime members. read more
