    Shotgun shells found.

This place is trash. Shootings, your car will most likely get broken into. The security is a joke and the pictures on the website are a lie. This club brings in nothing but trash and it is becoming increasing unsafe for home owners, apartment residents and their patrons. There was a shooting last night and the shooter was walking up and down the side street with a shotgun. The police didn't respond for 2 hours while an active shooter was out. Neighbors have witnessed people coming and leaving the club breaking into vehicles on the side streets where residents and club patrons park. The owners are doing absolutely nothing to help with this problem! https://video.nest.com/clip/e860a78cb132477c9f26cb11055552aa.mp4

Great vibes, with great people. This place is good if you have a large group of friends. Went here on a Saturday night, was not too packed at all. Drinks were decently priced.

Lumen is one of my favorite nightlife joints in Houston. I've been coming here since 2012. Their Friday nights are epic. Great DJs, sound system, and light show. I love their staff and management. Tuesday industry night is also a lot of fun.

This is my 4th time here. I think is wrong to force a 20% tip on tbe bill. I did not realize it was lumen practice until i read the review. Valet parking is $60 and to park in the front, you hv to pay $100. They hv Latin music last night. Place gets crowded very fast. By midnight, there hardly any place to move. There are 2 dance floors inside and an outdoor patio. I do not know why tbere are complaints of tbe size, but if u compare to Belvedere, which is long and narrow, i would prefer lumen layout.

Great young atmosphere, but there are many negative things need to be changed. First, parking is very limited, and you need to get a valet for $10. Second, drinks are extremely expensive and light. Third, music speakers are extremely loud in some spots and extremely low in others. Fourth, bar area is very small and always busy.

The way we were treated is unacceptable and should not be tolerated towards anyone, of any ethnicity or cultural background. Point blank.

It is not just jazz, but there are certainly many great jazz concerts here. I have seen Thomas Helton organize a recreation of the Miles Davis Nonent. I have also seen some benefit concerts and auctions that are always great fun. The vibe here is great. There are two levels. Tables scatterd on the first floor, and a balcony on the second with more tables and a bar. Often when I come, the place is packed, and people make a seat on the stairs. Which is actually pretty comfortable. Great seats throughout, and awesome acoustics. A hidden gem in the Rice Village area, and one of my favorite places to see a show.

For starters, this is located in the "other" midtown away from the trendy restaurants and bars and literally on the other side of the tracks south of Main. What I'm getting at is it's sketchy as hell. If you park on the street there, there is a pretty good chance it'll get broken into since the street lights have mysteriously been knocked out and you have a large homeless and/or druggie population wandering around. We had a large enough crowd that we decided to walk down there the couple of blocks. Getting in is also interesting since they give you the TSA treatment and get the metal detector out and ask you to empty your pockets while mean mugging you if you don't know which way the entrance is. Inside has the classic beatdown downtown warehouse decor but on the plus side, the AC works, the bathrooms are surprisingly clean (which is why I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1), and in its own way is kind of welcoming if you're not into any of the trendy places. It kind of reminds me of how Houston's alternative scene was in the 90's...not sure what the kids call this nowadays. Then there is the music. It wasn't good. The sound system is muffled and the music selection was pop rock style from like 2007-2012 mostly so even though I am older, I can still say it was lame without sounding like that old guy who hates new stuff. I actually WANTED to hear new stuff and not what I would listen to on Pandora 15 years ago, but apparently the younger and alternative crowd seemed to like it. It's kind of like Numbers Night Club for people who don't like wearing black and think of the 2000's as their 80's? I gotta say though, despite having the scary walk and dealing with frowning security and bartenders who act like they're doing you a favor for letting you in, it's a great place for people watching.

We were standing in the main area when a bottle service waitress approached us and offered a table. I told her we were fine at the bar, but she insisted and said we didn't need to buy a bottle--just that we could sit and enjoy. We agreed, but as soon as we sat down, she immediately added that we'd have to move if someone came and bought a bottle. That felt misleading and unnecessary, especially considering the club was nearly empty with plenty of open tables. At the bar, things didn't improve. I ordered 2 margaritas and 2 shots, but the bartender poured 4 shots instead. When I politely clarified that we only wanted 2, she refused to take the extras back. To make matters worse, the total tab ended up being over $100--including the extra shots we never asked for. That's unacceptable. Overall, the service was poor, the atmosphere felt low quality, and there was a complete lack of hospitality. It's not surprising they keep rebranding and changing names. They advertise themselves as a "3-story club," yet the rooftop is consistently closed due to staffing issues. We ended up leaving and going to Fabian's down the street, which had a much better vibe and overall experience.

I ate at Norigami Tuesday night and it was great as were the cocktails served up at the nextdoor bar called Hidden Bar. On Tuesday, I tried the Thai Chili Ginger Margarita ($13) and it was great, complete with a hunk of candied ginger which I "gingerly" consumed throughout my drink experience...see what I did there? Next, I had the Three Dots and a Daiquiri ($13) with Rum, Lime, Velvet Falernum, All Spice and Pineapple and it was very similar to one of my favorite tiki drinks, the Three Dots and a Dash, complete with 3 luxardo cherries. To finish, I had the absolutely incredible Golden Laurel ($16) with Gin, Italicus Bergamot, House Greek Botanical Bitters and Sea Salt. It is equally beautiful served with a clear bay leaf and delicious. Last night, I was guided by the friendly bartender to try the Et Tu Banana" ($15) with Banana Bourbon, Spiced Pear, Creme de Banane, Campari and Citric Acid. I was a little worried about the cocktail being overly banana-y but it wasn't at all. It was a fantastic drink. For my last call, he recommended the Left Hand ($13) with Bourbon, Campari, Sweet Vermouth and Chocolate Bitters. Again, fantastic. Both nights, the bartenders and drinks were fantastic.
