I am not sure why there are so many negative comments on here for LumiGarnet NailSpa. I have been going there for several years and so have my daughters. I do make an appointment with Linh and the time is always honored. However, I do see many people walk in without an appointment and I hear how nasty the potential clients become...'the right of entitlement' attitude...it is so sad how people behave. That being said, I always have a great experience and always receive amazing treatment. My mani-pedis always last until it is time for the next mani-pedi. I use to use the gel nail polish for my hands but have recently switched to the dip. I absolutely love how great and strong my nails are. I highly recommend LumiGarnet NailSpa. I have been here twice. The first time when they first opened, the second, just a few days ago. I had an ok experience the first time, but I decided to give them another shot. It was absolutely awful! First of all, my mani & pedi was under 20 minutes (how?), and the mani & pedi that I came out with was absolutely horrendous! First off, I have extremely short nails, for several reasons, one including that I am a pianist and it bothers me to have long nails, another being that I have had a bad habit of biting my nails since I was a kid. The first thing that the salon technician said to me was "stop biting your nails", which is fine, I get that every time, but she then proceeded to show every other technician while laughing at them. On top of the horrible client etiquette, the manicure and polish job were horrifying. The attached picture was taken just three days after the manicure. I have not focused my nails in an attempt to preserve them for the holiday parties that are coming up, but as you can see, the polish is dilapidated and is just peeling apart. When the manicure was "fresh" it was bubbly and uneven. I first came to LumiGarnet to get a fresh set of Acrylic. The atmosphere is very nice and welcoming. I am a boy so it was refreshing to not be judged while walking in to get acrylics (as it happens at some other nail salons) I go to Vicky who is sweet and does a nice job.. however they are a bit over priced. $35 for a refill? I've been going to this place for 10 years. As a business owner in the beauty industry it was one of the most embarrassing experiences in my life she (the owner) was so rude and nasty to me. I was a receptionist at this salon for three weeks and in the three weeks i worked there i've never seen so many unsatisfied customers before. I've worked in a lot of different types of establishments before even in restaurants where people tend to express dissatisfaction the most. Nothing has topped this salon. To begin with they're priced expensive for the services they offer, their main offer is mani/pedis for $25 monday-thursday till 4pm. They managers are both unprofessional mocking customers and even me as an employee. When a customer has something happen to them that the salon is in the wrong they tell you "there's nothing we can do." Never in my life have i had a boss push me out of the way from my station or tap on me so hard it physically hurt. I'm disappointed that i was a part time employee working 30 hours a week and fired because "I couldn't work enough hours", yet i was working more hours than the other two receptionists. read more

I'm very particular with the corner of nails of toes, if not done right, my regular shoes brother me. Anyways, Kim is so amazing that while doing a 30 min foot massage, she placed my chair in totally reclined position. I fall asleep during the massage. It was divine!!! She always asses how strong is my nails and recommends what is best for it. Ambience: super luxury environment with modern and upgrade look and pastel colors. Very relaxed and it's suuuupppeeer clean!!! You can see the frequency on changing towels, plastic covers for the manicure water, tools are constantly replaced by clean one. Originally, I had heard a few good things about this place, that it has good customer service, etc. The allure of the $25 mani/pedi on weekdays also got to me. So I took advantage and went there to get my nails done for my cousin's wedding that weekend. Totally, completely awful! The customer service was bad, no communication between client and nail tech whatsoever... I walked in and they checked me in, immediately told me to look for a color. I wasn't introduced to my nail tech and the place was so busy, I was a little lost. Whatever, I picked my color. For my pedicure I just wanted a simple color, but for my hands I wanted to do a soft gradient effect. For a gradient they were going to charge me $5 extra! Okay, it's for a wedding I'm walking in so I was wiling to pay the extra $$$. When I showed him the picture again of the gradient style I wanted, he didn't know how to do it. At all. He simple painted just HALF of my nail and thought it was okay to leave it like that... so I showed my mom and she was kinda shocked too, so I went to him again and they just gave me another nail tech to "fix" it up -- all they did was just paint over the half that was there.. Eventually I just told them to paint the whole nail like normal. I was done, and the nail tech looked annoyed with me lol. (Thankfully they just charged me the normal $25 special). Another note, the original nail tech didn't know how to fix my already broken nail! He just put some glue, spread it over the broken part of the nail, boom-- done. Uhm.. Sunday evening of the wedding my nail was broken again in the same spot! Overall, I'm so unhappy with this place! Not what I had imagined at all. Customer service was so bad, even simple things like offering water or coffee, something... no good communication, and the nail techs have no idea what they're doing-- as if they don't keep up with the nail trends and continue to receive further education in this business (as they should since styles/trends change constantly). I wish I could leave negative stars, the service was SO BAD today that I had to walk out. I usually come here and everything is great but today the guy who did my nails painted them like a five year old. I went back and asked if they could be redone and they sit me with the same guy whose solution is simply to keep cutting my cuticles. Regardless of the fact that I showed him that several nails looked bad, he was only willing to fix one, insisting the rest were fine. Ridiculous. I definitely will not be coming back. If I could give zero stars I would. The owner is CHEAP and a THIEF. I went yesterday for a mani pedi and picked my polish. By the time the manicurist got to my hands, I would tell she was really struggling with the polish and kept having to add thinner to it over and over. I suggested we change the color and she said no. When I left the manicure didn't look great, but I had seen what an issue she was having with what was clearly an old and dried out polish so I let it go. The next morning after I was done with my makeup, I noticed there were a ton of tiny bubbles in the application and the makeup accumulated inside, making it look like I had a ton of tiny brown dots all over the white nail polish. I called and explained the situation and they asked me to come by and they would fix the polish. When I get there they tell me to pick out the polish and they'll get started. I picked a very similar color to the one I had to avoid the same issue I had before. Once the manicurist starts doing the polish change, the owners stops him and demands I use the same polish or I have to pay again. I explain that the issue was with the polish and not the application, that I'll be happy to use the same color if he gives me a new bottle. He says yes and then proceeds to pick out the same bottle they had used previously. I pointed out that it's the same one and he refused to acknowledge it, he said if I wanted the change it's that polish or I have to pay again. I went ahead and proceeded because he was being very rude and I just wanted to get it over with. I just left the salon, and I already see the bubbles forming in the polish - im sure tomorrow I will have the same issue. This weekend we were told that the card we were using couldn't be found, then it was expired, then it was used on the 18th of July and today it was allegedly used on the 9th of July. The workers are rude and the front desk receptionist is scared to death of whatever tongue lashing Tiffany is going to give her. No local customer satisfaction because the receptionist says the owner is in Vietnam. As soon as I walked in I smelled the fresh aroma and was asked to pick a color right away (I had an appointment) I was sat down but waited for about 30 minutes until they started working on me. I have been a customer of LumiGarnet for many years. The last few months it has really gone down hill from the negative attitude of the employees, terrible customer service, new receptionist each week, rushed services, etc. The nail techs talk bad in their language very loud about the customer while they are working on the customer. It's so unprofessional. They are incredibly rude. Do not waste your time having Kevin do your nails. His work is usually rushed, only fair and if you ask him to file or cut something he gets angry and temperamental. His attitude is terrible, he is very rough and I have seen him put his dirty instruments back in his box to use on the next customer without cleaning them off. Going to get your nails done should be relaxing, not a stressful experience like the one you will likely experience at this nail spa. I liked the fact that I could get an appointment and Louie works hard to keep the place clean and looking nice, but it's not worth going to deal with the other nail techs bad attitudes. read more

This place lures you in with their specials and pretty lights and colors. If you have an appointment be ready to wait regardless! Employees working the registry and answering the phones are always too busy on their own phones (texting or emailing) before they even acknowledge your presence or answer your call. I have been held on hold for 20 minutes on a couple of occasions! They work really fast, to get you in and out just as fast! They do not take appointments from 2:00ish to 4:30ish, so I guess walk-in's are more what they prefer than having a weekly customer. Watch your final charges one week they may try charging an extra $5.00 for the same services they provided you in the prior week! When you question it, they say "oops sorry" and they then change the amount to what you paid before. All in all if you are in a jam and can't find anyone else to get your feet and nails done (even with the millions of other places around vying for your business), maybe go for a visit, but as the saying goes "enter at your own risk". I walked in for the first time into Lumi Garnet (in The Falls) after being a client at all 3 different Million Dollar nails, I wanted a Pink & White fill-in. It wasn't that busy. I was told I would have to wait 30 mins, but in reality, I only waited about 20 mins. The receptionist was nice enough to help me accommodate my shopping bags, seated me in the nail station, and offered me bottled water. I was then attended by Loui. He's the one that did my nails. He's very detailed and takes his time. He's also very gentle and careful, and doesn't rush. Throughout my service, he would ask me if I was satisfied with length, color, etc. He's not a conversation kinda guy, but he gets the job done. He did a great job with my nails! I loved them! And he didn't butcher my cuticles like other places do! My cuticles looked great! I pre-booked an appt with him! I have been coming here for several years, every 6-8 weeks. I always get the signature spa, which is pricey, but I don't get a pedicure that often, so I splurge a little. I have never made an appointment or requested a particular person. With the exception of 1 or 2, all of the technicians did a great job, whereas the 1 or 2 were just ok, but not terrible. I use a very pale pink polish which doesn't show imperfections much, and I usually bring my own polish, which ensures that it has not been thinned. My experiences have all been very pleasant, and everyone had always been very nice to me. At this point, they recognize me, but they didn't at the beginning and they were nice then, too. The only unpleasantness I have ever experienced is due to other customers sitting near me who play loud games on their phones or talk on their cellphone incessantly, ruining an otherwise relaxing experience. I don't know that the salon can do anything about that, except maybe to put up a sign to put phones on silent and refrain from talking on your phones. read more

Had a gel pedi and wanted a gel mani, with a friend, now listen, I don't typically will call out crappy service cuz I don't like drama, but WHAT THE HELL. So she sits me down, she kind of filed off some of the gel on my toes then used acetone on cotton and wrapped my feet in foil and fingers after. Then she left for 5-10 minutes then came back and started my feet. She got off the rest of the gel color, and put my feet in water then cleaned off the cuticles, when she was done, she scrubbed the bottom of each foot with TWO SWIPES EACH , then just lotion on my feet and legs then immediately wiped it off with a hot towel. Not like a pedicure that I paid for with a massage and exfoliating gel and clean off my foot and scrubbing my feet clean, none of that. Then she painted my toes. Then to do my nails, for times sake because she was already taking super long I told her to just clean up my nails and not paint them, SHE GOT A BOWL, TOOK THE WATER FROM THE WATER MY FEET WERE IN, PUT THE BOWL ON MY LAP AND TOLD ME TO SOAK MY NAILS. WHAT?! So I did it because I didn't wanna argue, btw the pigment from the front of my fingers went away because of how long the acetone was soaking on my fingers. She shaved off the rest of the gel color on my nails, then she cleaned off my cuticles and wiped it ON THE TOWEL THAT WAS ON MY LAP. EXCUSE ME?!!!! Then when she was done cutting of the cuticles and filing my nails, which she didn't even file them even, she got that SAME TWOEL WITH THE DEAD SKIN, AND WIPED MY FINGERS AND PUT LOTION ON, WIPED IT AGAIN, PUT ACENTONE ON, AND WIPED IT AGAIN. I PAID $65 FOR THE SHITTIES SERVICE EVER. That lady didn't even get a tip from me that was unacceptable. Never going back this place needs to go out of business and they have sanitary hazards. Shut this place down immediately I'm surprised they haven't been sued.
