However...I then decided that I probably am too tall and still might not qualify. And I likely couldn't gain significantly more muscle in two weeks. So I went on Groupon to get a refund. To my COMPLETE surprise, my Groupon had been redeemed without my knowledge or consent. I called, and it was explained to me that they always redeem the Groupons upon arrival, in order to prevent people from getting the service and then claiming a refund. While I understand that concern, it's a terrible business practice to do that BEFORE determining eligibility. I probably did look fat enough, as I was wearing a baggy sweatshirt over leggings. I was not told that they had redeemed my Groupon, probably because I had scheduled a new appointment. I told them that, commonly, providers ask me to pull up the voucher AFTER the service, or, if it's a facial treatment, sometimes when I arrive. And then *I* mark it as used in front of them. This action cannot be undone, so the provider is protected. I think this is a MUCH better practice, especially when there are eligibility requirements. As a side note, I am appalled to learn that people try to scam providers. Ugh. Shameful.
