I came here today on a whim. The sales person is excellent at her job because I was just looking but I left with a beautiful bracelet and a climber earring & wore them out of the store. I thought the prices were very fair.. but I used to work for Tiffany so take that for what you will. The craftsmanship is beautiful and they have many dainty feminine pieces which I love and are super interesting to layer. I will definitely be back. What I love the most besides the beautiful product is the fact that if anything needs repair (this happens with dainty jewelry sometimes) they will stand behind their product and repair it fee of charge (as long as you aren't being abusive to the jewelry!) I walked in simply looking for a specific ring size, and the experience was absolutely awful from the moment I stepped through the door. The woman working was assisting another customer, but rather than acknowledging me or offering any basic customer service, she immediately made me feel judged and profiled because I was wearing beach clothes. Meanwhile, she was warmly assisting another customer who was speaking Spanish and carrying a Chanel bag. When she finally addressed me, I tried to ask questions about the rinG what type of stone it was, pricing, and whether there were other options. Instead of actually helping me, she immediately started asking whether I was done with the ring, as though she had already decided I wasn't a serious customer OR that I was trying to walk out with the ring on my finger. I have never felt so blatantly judged and unwelcome in a retail environment. Apparently, if you want to be treated with an ounce of respect here, you better show up in head-to-toe designer. Otherwise, don't expect them to make an effort to earn your business. I strongly urge you to spend your money somewhere else. There are plenty of businesses that understand that you treat EVERY potential customer with respect, regardless of what they're wearing or what they look like. Absolutely AWFUL experience. I would not recommend this business to anyone and based on how I was treated, they will never get my business. If this is the owner, shame on you. The LUMO Jewelry is great! The review is tied specifically to this outlet. If you want their jewelry, consider trying it on at this place but absolutely try and buy it online. IMO, a jewelry shop's main advantage is its customer service and building a relationship over time. The saleswoman there was apparently completely uninterested in that though. She used a hard sell tactic that really left a bad taste in my mouth. My husband and I found a ring we liked, but we wanted to look at some other shops before finalizing the decision (this was the first shop we stopped in). She told us they were going to adjust the price within the hour! So we should make the decision right then and there or we wouldn't get as good a deal. She kept reminding us that the price of gold keeps going up. So I ended up buying my ring right then and there. When I checked the price the next day, it was exactly the same. I would have liked to think about it and not feel rushed into it. Don't fall for this scam! I typically don't write reviews, But I just have to start off by saying that the saleswoman is SO rude. She starts off by welcoming you in and being nice. Then she starts getting aggressive trying to sell her overpriced jewelry. I then went to take a photo because I was considering buying something but wanted to think about it first. Then she quickly came up and scolded me like a child. I couldn't even understand what she was saying at first. And then I could finally decipher what she was saying was "No photos!" In my mind if she really cares that much about photos she should be put up signage, instead of being so rude. Ways she can improve? be a nice human being. read more

Hours are variable - tried many days to go there for jewelry repair and to get the jewelry. I bought 3 rings, 2 have broken. 1 had the stone fall out, 1 broke in half. Customer service was not great - the sales lady did not acknowledge me while she was with another client. I don't enjoy writing bad reviews but don't shop here. The owner or sales lady is very very aggressive and mean. She's nice initially until she gets your business. Also, their stuff is cute and expensive but very cheaply made. Most of the stuff I bought here broke. Personal and gifts. How embarrassing! And she will take zero accountability or help to repair unless you're willing to pay more $$$. Icing on the cake: one time I received a gift from here where the charm slipped off the chain and wouldn't go back on. I asked if she could fix or replace and she refused to do either. I eventually settled on paying her $50 to get the charm back on which was half of what the necklace cost initially. I only did it Bc it was gift and didn't want to hurt my friends feelings by not wearing it. And it fell off within two weeks of purchase. Don't waste your money or time. My family has been a local in the Coronado community for the last 50 years. I recently walked by the store and some display artwork caught my eye. Being a consumer of fine jewelry, I walked into the store to first admire the artwork, before I was going to look at the jewelry. As I was looking closely at the artwork, a rather snotty salesperson came up to me and said, please don't touch the artwork. No problem, I understood that, but I was really intrigued by this piece. I politely asked if this was done my a local artist, to which she rudely answered, we got it so long ago..... So I left with my family and continued onto do other shopping, but decided I wanted to see if I could take a picture and perhaps locate the artist. As I was taking a close up picture, the snotty saleswoman quickly comes over and tells me that photos are not allowed in the store. So I backed up past the entrance to take the photo, and she so rudely said, your foot is over the line. Such a pathetic person/ instead of embracing genuine interest in the artwork, which could have lead to a significant purchase of jewelry, I will NEVER buy a single piece of jewelry from LUMO Handcrafted Jewelry on Orange Ave. I would have expected that Coronado would vet potential businesses and bring in only the best. They missed the mark on LUMO Handcrafted Jewelry. Am posting this to make residents and tourists alike that you may want to check out other jewelry stores that are more hospitable. Really nice little shop on Coronado. I poked my head in yesterday while browsing Orange with my coworkers and saw several really cute little diamond necklaces I liked. The gal inside was friendly and chatty and offered to show me anything from the cases I'd like to see. They have silver and yellow gold, mostly yellow gold styles of dainty little diamond necklaces that are easily paired and stackable. Think Anne Sisteron or Vale. Very pretty. We have even ordered online. The shipping process is quite a long one but I was able to reach out to the company and they were able to accommodate my needs in a matter of just days. Terrible customer service, even WORSE quality, and no integrity for their work. I spent $2,000 for two custom rings - and within months of receiving the stones started popping out!! I was so disappointed and reached out immediately asking if LUMO could help, not only did they decline, they said they were not liable. So, you spend thousands of dollars on their jewelry and only months later they are unwilling to back up their work?? I specifically asked them for a piece of jewelry that I could wear daily for decades to come ( of course removing for exercise, showers, sleep, basically anything that could cause issues ) and even with my delicate care and maintenance their jewelry literally falls apart. My boyfriend bought me a set of huggie hoop earrings ($200 worth) about a year ago. I wear them all the time super good quality. Every time I'm in the area I always like to stop by. I have probably stopped by 3 times since the initial purchase. Everything seems overpriced but what really really reaaally bothers me is that the owner literally follows you around and is extremely pushy to the point that you feel stressed out. She believes she is all that as well. Very snobby attitude. And it makes you feel like you are a criminal- the way she has to unlock everything and literally follow you around. Not a nice feeling when you are a person that does occasionally like to splurge and have the $ to be able to do so. My last experience a week ago- I had tried on something and I left it on the counter and she accused me of taking it and literally ran out of the store calling out my name like really?? I visit Coronado every year. I've came to this place LUMO last year and revisited this year. Both times there was a saleswoman that is extremely pushy to the point it comes off desperate and makes people feel uncomfortable. One of my favorite jewelry stores! I no longer live on the island and this continues to be my go-to jewelry store. Lucia has wonderful style and is always helpful. I'm surprised by some of these comments saying staff is pushy. Yes, when I stop in she will recommend pieces that may compliment other jewelry I'm wearing or thinks I may like. Many times I'll try them on and pass; other times I say yes, I'll take it. She's a smart business woman and yes, she's in sales doing what a savvy salesperson does....she's selling her goods. I've bought a few pieces of jewelry from this store, however, the last few times I went in the store the owner was using high pressure to get me to buy things. This tactic is uncomfortable for me, especially when spending more than a few hundred dollars. Therefore, I didn't buy anything. I promise you, if you go in and the owner helps you-be prepared to feel like she is seeing dollar signs and she will PRESSURE you to buy items. Fast forward, I bought my sister an ear cuff. She told me if there's anything wrong with it or she doesn't like it, she could come back in the store and she'd take care of it. Well, it hurt my sister's ear so she took it in. She claimed it wasn't from her store but WAS able to find it under the list of items I've bought in the past. She said she couldn't find her "logo" on it. Note: many of her items can be found in the LA diamond district for less money so they aren't one of a kind LOMO pieces. The ear cuff wasn't more than $200, but in the process she lost a good customer. Lucia, if times are that difficult for the store, this isn't how you get repeat customers. I so rarely write a negative review. I prefer to praise businesses for doing well, especially when it comes to customer service. So a few things to anyone looking to buy something from LUMO jewelry: 1. You can find the same thing in the LA diamond district 2. You can find the same thing for less money 3. Moved to Coronado and found this cute shop with my daughter. We love jewelry and really into dainty original pieces so we have been here many times and have found that many pieces are reasonably priced. Customer service is great and there are many choices. What a gem of an owner, who is so dedicated and attuned to your own innate image, that she styles your very essence with things she creates for you! My family really loved this shop. I actually asked for a pair of earrings for Christmas specifically from this store because I loved everything in there. I ended up getting a pair of really cute ones for my 4 year old but I asked for them to be screw ons so the backs wouldn't fall off since they're expensive earrings (the screw was an extra charge). Within a week, the back fell off. I went back in to ask them to check the earring thinking they would fix it and replace the lost back. It shouldn't have fallen off if it's a screw right? They wanted to charge me $15 for a new back and proceeded to blame my daughter for making it fall off. Again, it's a screw on. It shouldn't have fallen off no matter what.
