Lunch Special (Korean Beef, Mac n Cheese, Chicken Enchilada) plus fries. (PS, took photo after digging in so there was more!)

This was my first lumpia experience and I am incredibly obsessed now! I grabbed their lunch special, which is your choice of three kinds of lumpia plus their special fries and a dipping sauce. I chose the Korean beef, Mac n cheese and enchilada. Every one had amazing flavors and a great crunch; perfectly cooked. The dipping sauce was a perfect touch and whatever sauce is on the fries is to die for. I had the food to go and was still so fresh and crispy after the 10 minute drive home. Would highly recommend checking them out.

So many choices and all so good!

I've seen the Lumpia City food truck around the city before but never visited because new is scary and I didn't want to waste my money. But we finally gave them a try when they had a pop-up in a local brewery. Now I'm sad that I haven't had them before because everything they made was delicious! To be fair I've never had any other lumpia so I can't speak to the quality of this specific lumpia, but what we had was awesome and I'll happily try any other lumpia I come across in the future. We tried the Philly Cheesesteak, Sriracha Pork, Korean Beef, Vegan Stuffed Pepper, and their adobo rice. Everything tasted great but my favorite was between the Philly Cheesesteak or Korean Beef. Even the Vegan Stuffed Pepper was pretty good (meatless crumbles and all!) The two dipping sauces they served with were a nice touch and gave a couple of the lumpia a little moisture which was nice. The adobo rice was nice and sticky and had a lot of flavor to it as well. I'm happy to see that they'll be at this brewery often in the future so I can satisfy my newfound lumpia cravings. And now I have nothing to be afraid of when I see them all over town this summer!

Carne and Mac & Cheese Lumpia

Hey now, not only are the two lovely ladies amazing people, but these girls know how to make some mean lumpias with a twist all of their own. I've been wanting to check them out and was very happy to learn that they were on the calendar at Helix Brewery, a place I frequent, so it was no surprise that my visit coincided with the day they were cooking at the brewery. They make quite the variety of lumpias, but this time around I settled for the carne asada and macaroni and cheese lumpias. I ordered four of each for $8. You can certainly mix and match more varieties if you heart desires. One thing I loved about both lumpias was that they did not in any circumstance hold back on the ingredients inside. The carne and mac & cheese were stuffed in to the max. Secondly, the lumpia itself had an superior exterior. They were all a perfect golden brown and perfectly crisp. They no doubt got the oil temp and timing down to a science with these little scrumptious rolls. Finally, both lumpias ingredients were fantastic. The carne asada is marinated before cooking and stuffing, so you are sure to receive a great quality beef flavor and flavor from the marinade and seasoning. The meat was tender in all of the lumpias. The macaroni & cheese lumpias were quite impressive. They were consistent throughout and were very cheesy. The cheese was flavorful and the pasta was cooked just right and did not get mushy from over cooking. Well done, and I would most definitely order these again. If you want to hook up with some of the best lumpias San Diego has to offer, I would check out their calendar to find out were they be deep frying!

These are NOT traditional lumpias but their menu is damn good!! It's a fusion food that fuses the crispy fried, flaky shell of a Filipino lumpia with other foods as the filling as opposed to the traditional filling. Their menu ranges from dessert lumpia to savory lumpias and also has options for fries and Filipino inspired ice pops. I had the Mac n cheese, chicken poblano, and Korean beef lumpia. Mac n cheese was just Mac n cheese, but it was good Mac n cheese! Chicken poblano was my second favorite, very flavorful, juicy, and tender with a mild spice which I liked. The flavors worked well with the lumpia shell. My FAVORITE was the Korean beef! I thought this flavor worked with the lumpia shell the best and I just love Korean beef in general so it was a win win! I also got the LC fries which were nice and crisp and then the Frube (fruity pebbles + ube) ice pop. While I enjoyed the trendiness of the fruity pebble addition it overpowered any ube flavor the ice pop had. Nonetheless I love fruity pebbles so it was still good! Just didn't taste like ube. Would definitely recommend this place! But y'all should also try traditional Filipino food too because it's also delicious! :)

I picked up a pack of the Mac & Cheese Lumpia from Layton Fruit Market for my ad agency's weekly in-person meeting. While I've had Lumpia City before (and know how great it is), it was awesome getting to share the deliciousness with my team. Once the lumpia came out of the air fryer, everyone grabbed one (or two) and couldn't believe how crispy and delicious they were. Our agency team was happy to try something new and to support a local LGBTQ-owned business. I can't wait until the next flavor drop!

If you have been to a Filipino party, there is always one dish everyone looks forward to: lumpia! The bite size, crunchy goodness is something everyone always looks forward to! Thanks to Lumpia City, I was able to try lumpia in a whole different way! We met up at their most recent stop at Duck Food Brewery.  Lumpia City is a food stand that travels to different breweries and venues throughout San Diego. Lumpia City's creations take familiar flavors and puts them into the crunchy goodness of a lumpia wrapper. The fusion of Filipino with American, Mexican, and Asian flavors is exciting! Here is a sample of what I tried at my last visit: -Five cheese mac and cheese -Mashed Baked PotatoBeef and Potato -El Carne, similar to the inside of a carne asada burrio -Sriacha Pork, reminds me of pulled pork but with the sriacha kick We also tried the warm apple pie lumpia which was warm goodness! Yummy! Thanks Lumpia City! It was all yums! Can't wait to see you all again!

I could smell the fresh, hot lumpia from a distance while walking through the Gaslamp Farmers Market. There was a line for the lumpia but it went fast. The lumpia is fusion style and they were all crispy and delicious. My favorite was the Sriracha Pork. It had a good balance of ground pork and vegetables and the touch of spice was great. Most people were dipping theirs in the sauces but I preferred mine without the sauce. It was so good I went back for more before I left the market. Unfortunately, they had sold out!

These were so delicious! We tried Carne and the beef/potato. We should have gotten all of the kinds. They are small but the 6pk was perfect!

I had the Fish Fry entree, battered and fried. You get 2 pieces of fish, choice of potato, I got potato pancakes, coleslaw, cup of soup, bread, tartar sauce, lemon and I asked for applesauce for the potato pancakes. Something that has never happened here before is I had to go back as they forgot tarter sauce, lemon, coleslaw, butter for the bread and applesauce. By having to go back, my husband ate half of his sandwich, saved half for when I got back and we could somewhat eat together, so I never got a picture of his sandwich. The fish fry was good, but I am thinking it would have been better if I would not have had to go back. Next time I will eat it there. I have one piece of fish left, my bread and soup for tomorrow. I am keeping them at a 5 star as this was the first time they made a mistake and their food and service is normally top notch. They are open Mon - Fri 7am - 2pm

It is now consistently bad and VERY sadly, I will not be back. Dumpling soup used to be incredible, now it tastes like new is consistently added to old. Salads were top notch, now they just appear that way on the outside while wilted, rotten lettuce and veggies hide within. The fish sandwich was to-die-for but, is now heavily battered and tasteless on a bun that is always burned. French Dip was also amazing but, again, is now never consistent. So disappointing as this place was once SOOOO GOOD.

Many of our guests were going up for seconds and told us how good the food was. We went with their burger and chicken bar and there was not only plenty of food but the set up and takedown process after the event was handled with great professionalism and timeliness. For our wedding reception we could not be happier with Saz's as well! All the staff were professional and the food was amazing. We decided to go with hand passed apps for cocktail hour, family style dinner, and then a late night nacho bar. Our family and friends were going on about how great the food was and how many options they had to choose from. We would definitely recommend Saz's for anyone with either small group catering needs or a larger event/wedding reception! Thank you Katie and the Saz's team!
