This is seriously good BBQ. The building is simple and suited well to a casual lunch or dinner, but the food is outstanding. Every aspect of the Smoked Cue'ban was clearly made with care and arranged intentionally, which is way beyond what I'd expect from a quick sandwich for lunch. The bread was perfectly toasted, the pulled pork was stacked high and piled on neatly, the pickles maintained some crunch and weren't soggy, the Swiss was melty and cheese-pull ready, the fries were fresh... I was even approached to check on how the meal was. I don't think you'll find a better BBQ restaurant anywhere around here. Been wanting to stop in for a long time. This was the perfect time to give it a try. We hadn't eat all day, so when we stopped in we were really hungry. Food: They have a really large selection of items. It's all posted on the wall next to the counter. You can get sandwiches, sides, or meats by the lb to go. Lot of excellent options. They offer a selection of beverages, including cans of beer, from a cooler. We decided on a couple of sandwiches. I got the Pork Belly with a side of Bourbon Mashed Potatoes, and she got the Chopped Brisket with the Dill Pickle Potato Salad. I had them toast my bun. Didn't take long before it all came out. Good temperatures, excellent flavors, and good size portions. They have 4 different sauces at the tables, and there are even more at their sauce bar. My food was awesome! The pork belly had nice slick slices, good ribbons of fat, and melt in your mouth tender. The mashed potatoes were sweet, and creamy, with a little chunkiness. Bun was toasted nicely, but a grilled option would make it even better. Tried most of the sauces, and found a couple that I really liked, the Gold Tang and Alabama White. My wife's experience was not as good mine was. Her's was the chopped brisket. Some of the meat was excellent, but there was enough dry pieces that you really needed to have sauce. A bit disappointing. The potato salad was very good. Very fresh, with good picklet flavor. Service: The folks that took care of us were all super friendly and helpful. Got some needed help with ordering, and advice on the sauces to try. Even stopped by during the meal to check on us. Atmosphere: The place is small, but they have comfortable seating for different size groups. It' has a casual barbecue feel to it. There were several other small groups there, and the noise level was good, easy to have comfortable conversations. The selection of sauces on the table, and the sauce bar are easy to figure out and use. Might be helpful to have small plastic cups by the bar for self service. Enjoyed most of the meal. Not sure if it was an off-day for the chopped brisket. I would definitely stop again and get the same meal. Lots to like about this place. read more

This is one of those hidden gems. You have to drive a little bit off the main road to get there but well worth it. I had the two meat meal. Sliced Brisket and Pulled Pork. Both excellent! I had the Coleslaw side amazing as well. Cornbread moist and tasty. The Brisket was cooked perfectly. All four sauces I tried were great. Then I noticed they had two more when I was done a mustard based and a mayo based. Wish I could have tried them. Well it gives me an excuse to come back. Help was friendly. I'm ashamed that I haven't left a review for Just Smokin' Barbecue yet. It's probably my favorite barbecue place in the Milwaukee area, if not anywhere. For February 2024 they're testing out doing breakfast on the weekends, so I stopped in to give it a try. My order consisted of a breakfast burrito without salsa and with brisket for the meat, a pork sausage bagel sandwich, and a couple pieces of cornbread. The pork sausage bagel sandwich blew me away. The sausage patty is made in house and is smoked like the rest of their meats, so the flavor and quality were unbelievably good. Easily the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had of any kind (bagel, croissant, muffin, etc). Brisket was an easy choice for the burrito and I had no regrets once I tasted it. I'm more of a rib guy than a brisket guy, but their brisket is outstanding in terms of flavor and not being dry. The hash browns in the burrito were hard to taste and I honestly forgot about them until near the end when I bit into a good size chunk of it, but I'd rather taste the egg, meat, and cheese more anyway. The cornbread pieces were good sized for the price and moist instead of dry. For BBQ sauces I usually stick close to the kinds I know I like. The Just Classic has nice tang to it while The Sweet Stuff is my favorite and is close to KC BBQ sauce. I highly recommend both. read more

I'm from the south so I'm used to good bbq but they usually come with sides, the samplers only come with a small piece of cornbread and sides are at an additional cost. But the man taking our order was short and seemed bothered he had customers. It wasn't busy, maybe one couple eating when we arrived. It wasn't our first or even second choice but it was open since there was so much flooding. We don't live in Wisconsin but have visited our family here several times. Never had anything bad to say until now. Perhaps it was just an off day but it doesn't take much effort to be courteous. read more

I ran across this place when I got lost in Lannon, and I'm so mad at myself that it's about 5 miles from my house and I never knew it was there! Hands down the best BBQ I've had in the Milwaukee area, and better than some I've had in my travels to TX, TN and NC. I did takeout but will definitely return for eat in after seeing the inside - it's so cute and comfortable! The very definition of a hidden gem. I tried the 4 meat sampler with sliced fatty brisket, pulled pork, pork belly and a jalepeno-cheddar sausage. Everything was fork tender and absolutely delicious. I tried 3 different sauces (original, spicy and Carolina vinegar based) and they were all so good I want to try them all! We also did the mased bourbon sweet potatoes and dill pickle potato salad for sides, and the sampler plate came with cornbread. All 3 sides were amazing, and while at most BBQ places the cornbread is an afterthought, this was the lightest, fluffiest cornbread I've ever had at a BBQ joint. Great fall-off-the-bone ribs. Almost too good (I like my ribs to be a bit chewy but this is totally my personal preference) Everything is homemade, including the just classic BBQ sauce and potato salad. Lots of effort in prep and making something authentic like this. You probably wont see a smokehouse with a line of 6 bbq sauce pump bottles across the wall anywhere else in the area. It's about time I write my review for this establishment. For the last several months, I have been frequenting Just Smokin on a near weekly basis. Quality bbq is hard to find in the Milwaukee area, and having lived in Texas for a few years, the bar for bbq is set pretty high for me. Just Smokin is up there with the top spots I frequented in Texas. While pretty much everything I have tried at Just Smokin is great, my repeat order is the two meat sampler with a broccoli salad side. And my favorite meats are the fatty brisket and the pork belly. Both are remarkably tender and oozing with flavor. The pork belly in particular hits all the dopamine receptors in my brain with every bite. So much so that I recently picked up a full pound of it to enjoy over the weekend (with a side of brisket). This is a diamond level local spot in Menomonee Falls. I had the opportunity to stop in and try their fish fry and was amazed. The fish was very good and the tartar sauce was different than others, but in a very good way. The lemon juice was forward and definitely added to the fish. The fries were very crispy and the coleslaw was incredible. The use of apples made me want to eat all of it. These guys got it down! Will give some Texans a run for the their money when it comes to brisket. As I was told here - brisket is king. And he was right. Damn good stuff. I got sliced and fatty. And if anyone who is anyone knows bbq - and they ask how you want your brisket - this is it ! Did not disappoint. I do feel like the ribs had a tad too much smoke on em - but they went down the same. I got them with no sauce so I can add my own as I go. Good call there too. Their "rib" sauce is good but im glad I got all the sauces to try. Went in on a whim as I am new to the area. Ordered the 3-meat sampler. Oh My Goodness! The pulled chicken and pulled pork were juicy, moist, and full of smoky flavors. They actually let the meat BE the meat. They didn't over season it, didn't add sauce on it, they just let it stand by itself and that is what it does. Yes, they do have sauces, which were good in their own right, the meats were outstanding. The brisket was lean where it is suppose to be and fatty where it needed to be but dry is not in its vocabulary. This is the best BBQ (and sauces) in the north lands... you'd have to look pretty hard to find anything even close to the quality of this BBQ. Pulled pork, succulent! Juicy and tender beyond reason!
