Great atmosphere and delicious food. Stopped in for lunch and had a great dining experience. The food was top notch service a little slow but we weren't in a hurry so it didn't make any difference. The Petite Apollo was delicious perfectly fried shrimp creamy Apollo sauce and perfectly ripe avocado. Side salads with super nova dressing a slightly tangy thousand island looked small but ate big almost couldn't finish it. Chicken Penelope a perfectly cooked well seasoned chicken breast with crawfish tails cheese and mushrooms with artichoke hearts was a great finish to a great lunch. Juicy chicken earthy mushrooms delicious. Chicken Cassidy juicy chicken succulent shrimp with mushrooms tomato and artichoke hearts in a lite chicken jus was delicious aleast that's what my GF told me. She didn't share. Love the vibe in here. We started with gin bloody Mary's (I'm allergic to vodka),Quite tasty, And the galactic crab dip with fried tortillas. The fried tortillas steal the show; the crab dip is good too. Neptuna melt on jalapeño cheese bread with fries was great. Earth burger was fine. The Caesar salad was OK but didn't taste anything like Caesar, at all. We all tried it and it did not taste anything like Caesar. Chicken on it was really good. We've tried Luna at least six of seven times. I've never been a fan of the food with it's offerings of "Galactic Crab Dip" (Parmesan, cream cheese, and FRIED flour tortillas?) or seafood dishes smothered in lemon butter cream sauce, honey spice glaze, sweet & spicy pecan glaze, seafood cream sauce, basil cream sauce, red wine sauce, or seafood "citrus" sauce (??). Look, if you need to bury everything under an ill-advised and poorly thought out sauce, you probably are covering up the food's quality or preparation. Also, is it that hard to cut onions for a salad? The red onions consistently come out as onion chunks instead of onion slices. But the bar and the ambience used to be fun. The music used to be reliably good. The last few times we've gone it's been an endless loop of St. Paul & The Broken Bones and maybe The War on Drugs? It is repetitive and not very good or imaginative. They used to play more quality tunes. But during the week when the owners aren't there it's the service that REALLY suffers. We waited a long time, several times, for our server to pull away from her conversation in the server's area in the middle portion of the restaurant to take our drink and food orders. The TVs had nothing on, just the channel guide on the screen, even though the NBA playoffs were on. And I'm not used to a very small wine pour, aided with the use of a tiny little decanter to make sure the wine glass is barely full. With this food, service, bad wine pours and weak cocktails, I don't see Luna making it in downtown Lafayette long-term. There are just too many quality restaurants. This food and concept might work in Lake Charles, but it isn't going to make it in Lafayette. read more

This place is good for drinking but I wouldn't recommend it for eating especially if with a large number of people. The back room has no ambiance and is like eating in a kitchen cafeteria which is a totally different experience than eating in the front that has music, nice lighting & decor. I was excited to try this place with my bestie. We always wanted to try Luna in Lake Charles. We were pleasantly surprised to learn about a new location in downtown Lafayette. We walked in to see a host who directed us to our seats. Unfortunately, we sat there for 10 minutes before even being acknowledged. I actually had to wave someone down to tell them we haven't been seen yet. Our waiter came and apologized saying that the host didn't notify him of our arrival. We tried galactic dip as our appetizer. The crab dip was pretty underwhelming. I was expecting to taste huge chunks of crab in this but it was rather smooth. My main entrée was steak nanette and some voodoo tuna tacos. I loved the sauce on the voodoo tacos; a nice spicy flavor. The steak was a little overcooked for my liking but still tasted ok. When it was time to check out, the waiter took forever to come back like he forgot about us! We had to get another waitress to send him our credit cards. Food is decent here but service has got to do a little bit better. read more

We really liked the atmosphere in Luna Grill with the framed posters, rough brick walls and jazz playing in the background. We appreciated the fact that while music infused the environment, we could still hold a conversation. The food was named in keeping with the solar theme. It also came out of the kitchen quickly.We started off with fried green beans with a spicy sauce. My husband had the " sunburger"- kind of a really good burger, but with jalapeno mayonnaise and an especially spicy bun. I had the "jupiter" sandwich, an really delicious sandwich of roast beef, provolone cheese, sauteed mushrooms, chopped tomato with an herb garlic mayonnaise. We finished our meal by sharing their made-in-house triple brownie. Really good! Luke was our server and he did an outstanding job, staying on top of our drink orders and checking back with us. We're just traveling through Lafayette, but we're so glad we discovered this restaurant. read more

This is the first time I've come to Luna's, and it is very good. It's a new restaurant downtown in Lafayette. The Galactic Crab dip is amazing, and the seasoning on the fried tortillas is immaculate. The Caesar salad is very good, but I wouldn't place the taste as a Caesar Salad. The Earth Burger was fine. It tasted kind of like a veggie burger. My mother ordered the Neptuna and said it was pretty good. I highly recommend this place. read more

Outstanding! Everything. Cocktails were superior! The Hendrix martini and the the bourbon "Morning Jacket" were an incredible experience in craft cocktails. The food was fantastic--the Apollo shrimp and Ella Chicken were my favorites. Our server, Jeffrey, could not have been more attentive, engaging and fun to talk to. Luna is one of a local chain with similar offerings. I had the filet with shrimp and wine sauce, the food was well prepared and as ordered. The service is fast and friendly, and the wait for food was short, maybe 10-15 minutes. Drinks were quick and tasty as well. The Luna is a quirky combination of trying to be an upscale eatery with walls covered in concert posters and Christmas lights, a stall, comfortable and an easy to visit place if solo or with a small group. Definitely recommend either the Lafayette or Lake Charles locations. read more

The menu features lot of interesting mostly seafood combinations that proved to be delicious. Our server Diane was wonderful and took great care of us. Stopped by for an early evening meal with grandchildren. Very friendly waitstaff. Comfortable and clean atmosphere. My salad was amazing and the grandchildren loved the chicken strips. (I tried on of the leftover chicken strips the next day and it was still amazing.) Blown away with dessert.... chocolate cheesecake! I will definitely bring hubby here for his birthday. absolutely our worst experience in Lafayette. was told wait would be around 30 minutes Which is understandable for a Saturday night. However hostess new everyone her age and they got seated quickly. Was told we were next and 2 more couples were given seats again before us. Finally seated we waited another 15 minutes to just be given waters. Had to constantly get waiters attention to order drinks and food. We waited around an hour after we placed our order. Watched multiple tables that came in after us get their drinks and food and some even cash out. We were literally the last table waiting. We had been waiting for food since 830. Decided to try here today after hearing good things. It definitely didn't disappoint. The atmosphere had a very artistic and easy going vibe. Artwork decorates the entire bar, which gives it a very New Orleans feel, which matches many places in the area. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was busy but not so much that the staff was overwhelmed. We decided to sit outside due to the nice weather, and there is a patio area in the rear of the building that allows for this along with a stage for live music. We decided to start with a spinach and artichoke dip (basic I know). The friend Tortilla chips were the perfect compliment. Salted and crispy, it paired well with the dip. Everything came out warm. I ordered the Jupiter and my company ordered the Neptune. Both were fantastic! The seasonings on the proteins were great and the fresh vegetables complimented the overall dish well. The breads also enhanced the experience. The fries added in were good too (not as great as the sandwich but still good). The drink menu and available beers was a nice finishing touch. The only recommendation I could have would be adding some fans or other cooling units on the outdoor area. TLDR: This place is great and I would recommend it to anyone who asks! read more
