I think I found a hidden gem in Lafayette. My dear friend wanted to bring me out to celebrate my birthday. We drove from Alexandria la to Lafayette today. We walked in, and a server said we could find an empty seat. We were greeted by our server and ordered drinks and appetizers. My drinks were a coke and an espresso martini. My espresso was made to perfection. Our appetizers were the BBQ BACON WRAPPED SHRIMP..... Bacon wrapped shrimp in a savory NOLA style butter BBQ sauce which was delicious. We also ordered the BRISKET FRIES. Smoked brisket, pepperjack, cheddar, Cajun BBQ, chipotle aioli, and green onion. I swear those cheese fries were the best cheese fries I've ever eaten in my entire natural born life. Wow wow wow. I sat in shock about how good they were. We ordered our entrees I ordered the GRILLED CHICKEN BREAST...... Chargrilled chicken breast,', with grilled veggie medley and roasted fingerling potatoes. It was so delicious. My friend ordered the REDFISH VERMILION. Grilled redfish topped with crawfish etoufee, served with chargrilled asparagus. I tasted some of her dish. It was yummy as well. My husband and I came here for date night. We were seated promptly, and we ordered drinks and food. After waiting for AN HOUR (and multiple "reasons" from the waitress about why our food was taking so long), she says that our food was delivered to the wrong table and do we want to order again? Definitely not! While they did comp us the drink we had each ordered, that really didn't fix the issue. I won't be coming back anytime soon after that debacle. What a disappointment. We had a wonderful evening at POUR Restaurant & Bar in Lafayette. Our server, Isabelle, was fantastic -- attentive, friendly, and made the night feel special. We enjoyed sitting outside in the beautiful weather while sipping cocktails (1942 Old Fashioned, Conundrum and Scout's Honor red blends), sharing the Baked Brie appetizer, Grilled Chicken Breast entrée, and finishing with the Molten Chocolate Cake. Well I appeared to be a nice place, unfortunately after an unfortunate meal I won't be returning. Choking was not my idea of a great meal. They source their products of poor quality and it's unfortunate because the location and setting of this restaurant should give it a leg up on asking for high end prices. I went there on a Saturday evening to have dinner with a friend of mine to celebrate her job promotion. My server was amazing. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items and drink selections. My friend has a gluten allergy, so we requested a gluten free menu which there was none. So I asked the server if the soup of the day was gluten free. She told me to hold on while she asked the general manager which was standing at the bar. She asked him about it and then he turned to our table rolled his eyes at us and walked off. The server came back to the table and said the GM was gonna go find out for me. We waited which seemed like forever for him to come back. Our server returned to our table and asked if we were ready but the gm had never returned or talked to us about this. So since I bragged so much on how great the soup was there, I wanted my friend to have some. So we decided to wait on the Gm. 15 mins later he returned only to have to leave again because he forgot to ask the chef about the soup. At that point i was ready to go. The server was very apologetic and said she would go ask the chef herself. It took her under a minute to return to let us know that the soup had no gluten. We had the soup which was amazing. The server suggested the Southwest salad which was also amazing, and the wait times were not long at all. After we were done eating the Gm came to our table stating that he didnt think that the soup has gluten. (He should know what he is selling). If thats the top dog of that establishment then I feel bad for the staff and god know what else is going on behind the scenes. My friend was not impressed and suggested we go to chimes the following day. read more

The bartender working 9/19/21 Sunday Brunch from 10AM-2PM shouldn't be working as a bartender. Her lack of warmth was palpable. A server made an eye-rolling gesture at her behind her back. Maybe she was having a bad day but it is our first time at Pour for brunch and to say we felt unwelcome would be an understatement. The bar is comfortable and inviting. They were playing a perfect Sunday Brunch music playlist at optimum volume. Our Bloody Mary and Baileys with Coffee was good. We very much wanted to like this place. We might have even forgiven the bartender, but then we ordered food. The crab omelette was bizarre. The strange crab, cheese mixture inside the omelette that looked "baked" was salty to the point of being inedible. My wife enjoyed the chicken from her chicken and waffle but her waffle was closer to French toast reheated from the previous morning. What a mess. Pour could be a gem of a brunch establishment in Lafayette, but it needs a lot of work. The service (it should be noted two servers we chatted with seemed delightful and we wished we had one of them instead of our bartender) needs an upgrade. The food was a strange mess. I've eaten a lot of omelettes but this one was the strangest and not good. And that wasn't a waffle at all, that was warmed over French toast at best. What a shame and disappointment. I've eaten here 3 times and the food is good. Last night I got the filet, ordered medium rare, and it was undercooked. The price was steep, $40. I wasn't pleased. Not great value, IMO. The chimichurri fries were delicious. The Brussels also very good. The catfish bites with homemade tartare sauce were excellent. A buddy had the shrimp tacos which looked tasty. Several others at the table had the tuna and it definitely had visual appeal. I'll be back but not for the Filet. read more

Had the opportunity to eat here with friends a few weeks ago and can't wait for the next opportunity. The place was packed so we started our evening outside on the patio with wind whipping around us. There were only two heaters and they didn't afford much comfort to the ten or so tables. We got ourselves on the list for inside and ordered cocktails and appetizers to begin our wait. The craft cocktails were delicious and the wine cards ingenious for those who didn't have a preference and wanted to sample. The charcuterie plate was just okay, small with fairly standard choices and the Tasso egg rolls that held so much promise came up short on this trip. We were pressed to find any evidence of Tasso though two of our dinner companions had had an earlier experience that made them a must have as they were a perfect cross of cuisines. The crab cakes were winners as were the oysters and were gobbled quickly. We moved inside just in time to order entrees and our delightful waiter followed (he was great fun). We ordered a variety of items off the menu and hit a few outstanding dishes starting with my corn Michu with seared scallops with an herbal gastrique. Oh my goodness, all that goodness! The scallops were beautifully seared, tender and sweet. The corn Michu was something I had never had before and I felt like there had been a hole in my life. The corn was mixed with translucent onions and cajun sausage and spice and a lovely complement to the scallops. I cleaned my plate. My companion had a beautifully grilled steak atop asparagus and potatoes draped with a compound butter that melted in her mouth and was perfectly done if the speed in which it disappeared is an indicator. The only downside to the entrees was a tomato, basil grilled cheese sandwich that lacked the requisite melty cheese and was so buttery that it overwhelms the sandwich. I hesitated leaving a detailed review because I don't want anyone to know I ate there. Food - POOR - Chicken Avocado BLT - breast burnt and cold how the hell do you even do that?!? Steak and eggs - steak so chewy couldn't eat it. Burger ordered med -burnt on the outside raw on the inside. The menu - POOR - has been whittled down to bones from what's posted online, it's really a joke. I have had bologna and cheese sandwiches with warm can of coke on the tailgate of a pickup in a cow pasture, that I enjoyed more than this culinary travesty Tried to have a carafe of mimosas to help the situation but it tasted like they used the wrong brut. It tasted like the aftershave not the sparkling wine. Then skimped on the OJ on top of that. The mixture was undrinkable and I saw more that just us send it back. Atmosphere POOR - bland except for the duct tape on one of the chandeliers from some previous decorations. That peaked my interest, did the ladder break half way through the removal process? Is everyone ok? Service (you guessed it) POOR waited 30 min for simple dishes. Had to ask 3 wait staff to get napkins and utensils, not kidding. All arrived 5 and finally 10 min after meal. So, my wife and I have eaten here several times before and enjoyed the food. We went for Sunday Brunch this week and I have to say, we were disappointed. I started with a cup of chicken and sausage gumbo. It was good, but not great. It was very dark and thick, which I love, but it lacked flavour. For my main I ordered Grits and Grillades. For $15 I got a bowl of gouda grits, which were great, and maybe 2 tablespoons of extremely greasy grillades. I mean, there was an orange ring of grease that my grits were swimming in. But the worst of it was my wife's dish. Potato hash bowl with grillades (substituted avocado), chimichurri, and a fried egg. When the bowl came it didn't have any chimicurri on it at all. Also, it wasn't hash, they were literally house made potato chips with avocado and an egg thrown on top. I guess the grillades would have added grease and texture to it, but chips are NOT hash. And having to ask for one of the menued ingredients is unforgivable. So, so disappointing. read more

I tried this place while I town for work so I was alone. The happy hour menu is what drew me in. I got a whiskey smash, blue cheese chips and the mahi. I subbed the butternut squash hash for the Brussel sprouts. The blue cheese chips were good and the red pepper ketchup was amazing. I hate Ketchup and it made me love it. It made me hopeful for the entree. Unfortunately, it was a huge bust. The mahi was coated in black pepper and that's all you could taste. I had to scrape it off. The hash was hard and flavorless. The tomato jam tasted like pizza sauce. It came on the side luckily and I'm glad I tasted it before I put it on my fish. Not what I expected from tomato jam. read more

Bad experience today. Ridiculously slow service even taking into account the amount of customers. Drink orders rang up at a different price than listed on the menu, out of four mispriced drinks, only one was fixed and the other three were blamed on the online menu being an old menu. Honor menu prices or change the menu on the website. Would have been a bigger deal but I didn't want to fight over three dollars. Also the boudin ball appetizer only comes with three boudin balls, which wasn't mentioned on the brunch menu and is very underwhelming for a menu item priced at $12. Have had decent experiences in the past, but it wasn't there today at all. read more

Do not waste any of your time or money here. The food was below average. I had to ask the waitress five times about the beer selections and each time she completely forgot about our conversation to the point where it felt she was ignoring our table on purpose because each time I had to remind her and it took her longer and longer to reappear. The table next to us had ketchup cups spilled all over the floor and no one seemed to want to bus the table and left it there. My wife was able to get a drink and it was NOT what she ordered. All and all this restaurant is dirty, WAY overpriced, and not good. If you enjoy being ignored, severed the wrong drinks or none at all, poor tasting bland food, and horrible wait staff be my guest. We spent over $150 on food to be delivered for special birthday dinner and it was terrible. I never expect that delivery will be as good as eating in the restaurant but this meal was extra bad. Salad greens were brown and wilted. The steak was tough. My dogs enjoyed it. The duck empanadas were greasy. Everything was woefully under seasoned. The charcuterie was the only bright spot. We came here for dinner before our date night at painting with a twist. First off the place is really cool with how the design and atmosphere is. We got the pour burgers with fries and Thai chicken wings (boneless) - everything was really good. Tasty and made exactly how we asked. The service was really quick and our waitress was great!
