I went in for the first time today and it was great! My friend and I came in 5 minutes til closing and after we got our drinks the barista working let us stay a little after closing to sip our lattes while she was cleaning up the shop. That was really awesome. I got the vanilla lavender latte and it was amazing . The foam and latte art was great and the drink as whole was great. The vanilla and lavender flavors put together was a brilliant combination and I will definitely go back and get another. On a different note, the space itself is small, quaint, and it has lots of personality. There is also a patio out back. They have stacks of movies (great pics btw) and a tv to play them, which is a cool factor. I highly recommend this place! read more

Cute little place, quiet and not a lot of traffic on a Saturday morning. Only down side was one barista working and it made for a much longer wait. Like the option of getting almond milk. I love exploring neighborhoods through coffee shops, and Luna Caffe has become a favorite. Plus, as someone who loves coffee but can't tolerate caffeine, they have the best decaf I've found. In fact, I buy their beans when I can get them, and my husband always comments on how good the coffee is when I use them. I am obsessed with my neighborhood coffee shop. I started frequenting this business a few years ago because it was dog friendly. Last week I was preparing for a video conference call when my home internet went out. I started to panic and then remembered that Luna café had free wifi so I packed up my laptop and ran around the corner. I arrived with less than five minutes to spare so I quickly ordered an iced chai, asked for the wifi passowrd and sat down to get ready for my online meeting. The owner was clearly training a new employee. It was nice to observe how patient and constructive he was while overseeing her make my drink. Once finished the owner walked out to bring my drink. Next he took the time to make sure I could connect to the Internet. In my moment of "crisis" I was really appreciative of the hands on customer service. WOW!! Just discovered this cute, cozy and delicious coffee shop. I am sure all the items on their menu are great, and I will try them eventually. I just can't get past the absolute amazing taste of the Vanilla Lavender Latte. It's a happy day when I begin it with this drink. This cafe was small and cute. There is a lot of coffee options. I like that they had Kombucha, which is not something you can find a lot of places. It was a little pricey but well worth it! Very cute coffee shop! I came here during the "Coffee Crawl" downtown and decided this was where I was going to get my one drink for the day. With the event going on there was quite a long line/wait but it was worth it. The staff were moving swiftly and two of them even worked the register while holding a child on their hip to manage the crowd, so sweet. I got the iced caramel sunrise and it was honestly incredible. There are a few tables inside and a little patio area out back. And it's outside of the main downtown area so parking is sometimes better too. I'll be going back soon! read more

Found my new coffee spot! The atmosphere is very eclectic without being too in your face "cool"...everyone seems very welcoming and without an attitude you can get at some "hip" cafes. The service is great and the baristas are very friendly. All the drinks I have had are phenomenal, and the baked goods are top notch. The only problem I have is that it's not closer to my house!! The barista was very friendly, and the coffee shop itself had a nice, quiet vibe. While I didn't partake, I noticed the board games and book exchange area. This is a nice coffee shop near downtown. It has a comfortable atmosphere with a fair amount of seating (I think I saw a sign for a patio in the back). They serve a coffee roaster out of Georgia which seemed to have a fair selection of single origin/blends. I enjoyed a latte (although I would've preferred another shot or less milk as you couldn't taste the espresso very well, but that seems to be common nowadays). Service was decent.. barista seemed very friendly (he was the one greeting people as they came and went) whereas the cashier/barista seemed like she didn't want to be there. I love Luna Caffe. I just discovered it a few weeks ago but have been going as much as my wallet will allow it. Its cozy and intimate but has huge windows in the front so its has a very sunny vibe inside. Unfortunately I've never had the time to sit down but the service is fast, friendly, and extremely welcoming. They have an interesting selection of drinks in the cooler too, like naked juices and bottled coffee! There is always parking available on the street out front. The flavors and prices cannot be beat, I'd say its my new favorite coffee spot without hesitation. I just wish I had the time to sit down!! read more

Good sized place with brick walls, original art on the walls, wood tables, some baked goods and granola bars. The Americano was good, which isnt something everyone can do! Luna Caffe has a very friendly staff and a great vibe! I tried the vanilla lavender iced latte today, and it was absolutely delicious. The space has a relaxed feel with a great playlist of music. It is a comfortable space to relax or do work in, but it is also very easy to drop in for a drink to go. They have various board games (Jenga, chess, Connect 4, etc), and dogs and children are both welcome. Overall, this is a great little coffee shop, and I would definitely come again! read more

I'm new to town and really trying to find a coffee spot that knows their coffee. After reading the reviews I headed down to Luna's. The girl seemed to know what she was talking about. She knew the bean they were grinding was from Ecudaor and was roasted locally. But that was where the knowledge and pride in her work ended. She didn't measure her dose and I could clearly see from the resulting shot that it was way off. She triple-tamped the grinds, pulled a shot that extracted way too fast, and served me the shot in a paper cup. I'm not sure the barista has been properly trained. But even if she was, you don't have ceramic wares to serve your hot drinks in? WTF? read more

Awesome experience! Some of the BEST nitro cold brew I have ever had. Prices are wonderful. I paid $7 and some change for a 16oz nitro cold brew and two huge dark chocolate peanut butter cookies. fun-ky little hangout. Have been here only once, and on that visit, i ordered a 'steamed breve' and a doppio (double) espress. Now, if you're of the starbucks drinking variety--like I am-- you're used to 'steamed breve' meaning steamed half-n-half. Some smaller craft coffee shops consider a breve to be a latte made of half-n-half. So when I got my drink, I got the former, when I wanted the latter. Upon returning to the counter with the unconsumed drink explaining that I wanted the unspiked steamer, they graciously offered a refund, instead of a lecture on what a 'breve' actually means. This is what makes a great coffee shop. Empathetic customer service without the attitude. The drinks were made with care, and i would come back again without a doubt. I have mixed feelings about Luna. The DIY atmosphere is a nice change from your average frou-frou Wilmington tourist trap, but the quality of the espresso drinks can be inconsistent. Some of the people that work there are better than others at pulling shots. BUT, one thing that some other reviewers are super critical of is totally unfair. You have to have a specific restaurant license and an expensive industrial dishwasher to be able to use ceramic or glass. By law, Luna is ONLY allowed to serve drinks in disposable, PAPER cups! (unless you bring your own mug) So the 1-star and 2-star reviews that complain about not getting a mug or demitasse are full of it. read more
